Ouch, i feel for u man, that would bring tears to my eyes if it where my C, put it this way my rear tyres would take some punishing if it where me id have handbrake turned the car round and chased the tw*t, everywhere i go now i find myself taking note of ppls reg and car colour who are parked nxt to me, just so if i get parking damage i can track the tw*ts down if the colour matchs along the side of my car.

Lol not the kind of opinions i expected, i thought they looked sweet, any recommendations for around the same price stated, i have a quartz grey C, dropped 40mm, looking for deep dish style rims though.

Ok after a new set of wheels for crimbo ive found some that i like just wanting opinons on them, they are £144 a wheel without tyres if u think they will look crap on a C please recommend others in the same price range, thanx in advance.

How do i change the bulbs and what kind of bulbs of bulbs do i need, to change the lights in my dash think they are orange and dont like em, i fancy blue dash lights waht kinda colour combos have u ppl got that look good?

wow thats cheap, wheres my credit card at?, how much do u think itll cost to get painted bearing in mine the colour of my car is discontined and will need fresh paint mixed up?

UPDATE ive spent a further £27 on my C, plugs oil and oil filter, lol, lotsa money, asked for some whells for crimbo off my folks they paying for 2 and ive gotta buy the other 2 with tyres all round looking at 1k for the lot, it'll look sweet though i hope :?

I think for a vr6 your looking at high maintanence (dunno how to spell it, my excuse is im drunk) i mean a cambelt tensioner is £100 thats shocking, and if u go for a g60 the charger will more than likely hit u in the pocket some time, the corrado is a unique car and with any unique car, parts aint cheap, but you will not be dissapointed by it, the vr6 is a dream car for me ive had to opt for the 1.8 16v until the insurance companys start to give me sensible quote for one, with any car in the same class as a vr6 corrado youd be looking at very similar prices for maintanence, its a sports car you cant expect anything less, a lot of ppl are saying they spend so much on there cars with mods and maintanece, trust me if u buy a car like this u 2 will find your self spending silly money on mods also as it suits the car down to a T, but for maintenece alone im saying £500 a year as a guess dunno if anyone would agree with me buts its a rough estimate, and spread over a 12 month it wont seem that much, but u must find a well looked after car in order to keep the costs down.

I noticed a squeey noise on my 1.8 16v, could be like a screech though, think it was the power steering belt cos when ive checked it the rubber that runs along the inside (rubber teeth things on the belt) they where cracked in places, and jumped in the car one day when it was wet and the steering didnt work until i revved it and that fixed it, must get it changed soon, didnt realise tensioners where so expensive is it that much for the 1.8 16v and how often should they be replaced? what kinda price am i looking at for a full set of new belts as well?

Corrados, regardless of engine are quite expensive anyway due to the fact the parts arnt so mass produced as other cars, and the fact they are a sports car only drains more money from your pocket, i have a 1.8 16v and its already cost me close to £100 to get it serviced and little bits sorting in 1 month of ownership and 2000m miles, you wont be disapointed by the car if you get a good one, good luck with it all.

Doesnt sound like all that much fun, seems to short, would be better if it went on over a few days and included routes through the isle of mann and ireland ect, with some kind of party for the final nite to finish it all off, just like the real one.

Well just bought a passat rear door handle from the scrappy and the strikeing pin is to long so im gonna remove the hole locking mecanism and door trigger unit from the door bend the lock trigger or remove it so its out the way then weld a small piece of plate on the door opeing trigger to extend it out so the striking pin will then hit it, without doing that its hiting the locking trigger, ive heard a lot of ppl say snap the locking trigger off cos u dont need it with delocked handles and it also stops opening the doors with slim jims, if any ones intrested in the way im doing it let me know and ill take some pics tonight while im doing it.

yeah thats what i meant couldnt remember what the RON's where, but but yeah remember now 95 RON standard unleaded, 97 RON Super unleaded by BP and some other garages and Optimax from shell 98 RON (great stuff) anyone ever heard and tried some stuff called Nitrox power hot shot, £7.99 ish from halfords ect and its an octane booster gives u a 10% bhp increase and cleans the engine of carbon deposits, says can be used as an octane booster for drag meets ect even if its been used before, for the purpose of cleaning the engine, sounds like good stuff ill buy some next week and let you all know what its like if no ones tried the stuff yet.

I have the exact same problem with my car, seems rough between 6-7k as if the engines shaking about all over but fine up to 6k dont bother me cos i dont like to take my car upto the red line, i somtimes have a funny idle on start up also but clears up when the engione warms up guessing its just the choke or summit, i dont use hi octane fuel very often because the nerarest shell garage is a good 10 mile away, cant remembver what my manual says the C should be using in the 1.8 16v i belive its 85 RON and BPs super unleaded is only 80 Ron or summit dunno if trying shell optimax which is 85 RON will make much of a difference?, i used to put shell optimax in my old beetle before i got my C and it made it go like s**t off a stick ;)

I have a slight smell of petrol on my car from time to time ill have to check that cheers for pointing it out

Could it be a hole in the exhaust 2? my manifold gaskets where screwed on my old beetle and it caused it to pop when backing off the accelerater, i thought it sounded cool so i left it :lol:

Id like to see my car on tele, but its not mint and its not a vr6 lol oh well ill have to hope and pray that maybe they'll take it off me for the next series of scrap heap challenge :lol:

Have a touch up pen i found in the car for the colour i have but its made by halfords, any good companys like that u guys recommend or would it be best to get some matched up to the car? only needed a small spray tin to touch up the bottom corner of the door.

When he was trying to get the paint code up it wasnt accepting the one i gave him from the boot which was 4 digits summit like LD7Y that wouldnt work so he typed in my reg number and came up with all the details for my car and he said the color was quatzite metalic grey so he checked back on the computer and found the color in the database and the paint code was D7Y so he went to the order page on the computer and typed in the code and it couldnt find the paint to order, he said the only thing i can think of is that they discontinued the paint. i know of a guy around my area who does colour matchs but i really wanted the original stuff for a good match, 8vg60 did u try get the paint from the dealers also and get the same re3sponse or did u not bother with them at all? just wondering if its cos the guy looking for my paint was a bit clueless with computers so thats why he couldnt find it.

Ok first off door handles, went to the scrap yard today for a door handle was told the passat rear door handles would fit from a guy on here, took the rear handles off tried em on my C and found the stalk which opens the door was 2 long, looked at the unbroken door handle and the stalk on that one was shorter so tried the front ones off the passat still 2 long, they look the same on the outside but have different internals, anyone ever put rear door handles off a passat on there C and was there any modification needed? if it aint possible to do that i need a drivers side door handle for a 1990 C if anyone has one. Secondly went to my local vw dealers to get some paint ordered in and the guy couldnt find the paint i needed on the computer, i gave him the color code from the boot and it didnt work, so he typed in my reg number and found the details there same paint code i gave him but couldnt find it on the ordering system, he said it must be discontinued, the colour is quartzite metalic grey, any ideas on what i should do? dont fancy buying any cheap copy stuff but if i have to what brands do u recommend?

ok well theres that 2, i didnt know about that, i have seen corrados with the casette tape folder there as well the same type of holders some fords used to have.

Can someone direct me to the section for the uprated wiring loom, my lights suck and i dont fancy paying £40 for a new one off ebay either

If you mean the one in the dash i think there was an option when bought new to get a unit fitted in the hole which held tapes in for the sterio, ive seen a few before in the C's
