I just got a corrado on monday and mines been dropped 40mm (only got 15's on i think, they are standard wheels), took it for a spin the other day down the back roads and it holds the road like glue, but now i find myself dodgeing every pot hole and cant even drive it onto my driveway forwards because the front spoiler is catching the floor, take a look in the members gallery to see my new motor.

Just bought a 1.8 16v, i think the colours called storm grey, its kick ass runs sweet, had my dad check it over cos hes a mechanic and he said its fine, the tappets are a little rattley but stops when warms up so ill probs replace them in a month or so, been dropped 40mm, got lots of bills with it all the way back to when it was bought brand new, so think its gona be a good motor for me, got 120k on the clock but with my dad being a mechanic i can look after it with minimal costs.

URGENT REPLYS NEEDED ROCKER COVER GASKET
Beetlebug_2001 replied to Beetlebug_2001's topic in Engine Bay
Well turns out it had a little more oil coming out than i was told went 260miles to view a car i was told was in mint condition, and get there to find the rockercover leaking, the camshaft oil seal leaking a big dent in the sump tappets where well and truley shot (sounded like an old escort) and when i got taken out in it, it was crunching into 3rd and reverse, so i told him to forget it, the gearbox just left far to much work and would mean it'd cost more than its worth to put right even though my dad's a mechanic and the work carried out on all my cars is free, was in bromley and its white just incase u considered viewing. -
Hiya im going to buy a car this afternoon, ive been told it is leaking a little from the rocker cover gasket, just would like to know if this could be the result of a more serious problem, its done 131,000 miles and its a 1.8 16v please help.

Thanx for the links guys really appretiate it, checked on them companys that someone said make induction kits and they dont make them for the 1.8 16v, get corrado this weekened cant wait, ill post some pics up when i get it home.

Wanted to drill the airbox as a short term thing to make it sound nicer until i scrape the money together for a nice induction kit, asked about induction kits before with no reply, does anyone know any companys that make induction kits for corrados and if they are any good or any good universal ones?
-
Hi getting my first corrado this week after years of waiting for the prices to fall in to my budget, just wondering about drilling the airbox i keep reading about has anyone got any pics of where you drill the air box cos i aint got a clue, and does it require any tune ups or reseting of anything when its been drilled? it will be a 1.8 16v, any help would be great
-
Anyone have any info on the induction kits i asked about cant seem to find anyone who makes them for 1.8s or is there any from a golf that fits or decent universal, any help would be great

Hi everyone, Im new here and im just looking for a little advice and a few answers to some questions, just sold my 72 bug and am on the look out for a corrado, Just wondering do the 1.8 16v come with interiors in different colours because ive seen a few and they all seem to have grey which i dont fancy. Did the 1.8 16v have ABS or is it possible to fit it to them as ive seen a few 1.8s advertised with ABS. What kind of things should i be looking for when buying a corrado (faults) as im not too sure what kinda things are common problems on them. Does anyone sell induction kits for the 1.8 16v, and if so does anyone know who and if they are any good. Finaly does anyone know any good insurance companys, for a 1.8 16v its gonna cost me a little over £1000 and thats on my dads insurance with maximum no claims, dont mind paying it because ive always been a vdub nut since bein a kid and ive wanted a corrado from the first day id seen one, but if i could get it cheaper that would be great, im only 20yr old no crashs claims or any of that, any help would be great, thanx :D
