Circuit layout is from the old 41/54 sqn perry track, through 6 sqn perry track then across the runway and down the other side of the airfield (near N. Walsham rugby club) then back around the other side and up to 41 sqn again. I dont think they do the runway, but I may be wrong, and they may do it but turn off before the end to go around the revetments. Cant remember. My mate came off his bike about 3 years ago doing it, he was fine but the bike was fooked!! Saw some good crashes that day. -
Arent most of the newer models OBDII ports anyway? What do you mean by you couldnt read it mate? Take a screen shot when you do the reading and post it on here to see if it can be deciphered.

They had those days there anyway, but mostly for those of us based there. Its still RAF Coltishall btw, it hasnt closed yet, just ceased flying. Whens the next track day, do you know? May be a good excuse to visit the outlaws  -
What do they actually drive like? I always imagined them to be a bit heavy and wallowy???

Just for info, I had the same problem as you last year. I went the 24v route, and got the engine, and the conversion (including new clutch, oils etc) for shy of £3k!! To get a bottom end rebuild youre looking at just over £2k. To do an engine swap you have to source the engine then add the labour, then any ancillaries, and fault diagnosis if its a used engine too. You could rebore and rebuild yours for around £2k to a 3.0 or 3.1 too. Or you could find a used 2.8 strip it, rebore it to 2.9, use you good pistons, and any that are knackered just replace. Then sell all non used parts to recoupe spme money. Also, after my conversion I sold the head, throttle body, manifolds, alternator, intake etc. I have left my block, pistons and MAF. I reckon I must have recouped around £500 8)

Cool. My Mrs sister used to Live in Thorpe Marriott, as did a few of my mates. Also her bro's girlfriend is fromTaverham. The Mrs is from Brundall, and I was over at RAF Coltishall from 1997, RIP  -
Ok ok sorry for breathing! All I was trying to point out was that its the tensioners that wear, not the chains!! Maybe I didnt put it across very well.
-
Looks ok mate, but the scratch on the bumper looks a bit like a hole. How quick was the prelude?
-
Get a VR 8)

I'd love to have a splitter, they are just sssoooo cool 8) What part of Norwich are you in? Lived there for over 7 yrs, and the mrs is from there too ;) -
That didnt take long to come back to the fold
-
You dont actually change the chains, just the tensioners really as they are flimsy plastic and they wear causing the chains to rattle ;) Im sure Ive heard the £500 mark mentioned too.
-
Looks lovely 8) If anyone is seriously interested in it, then I could pop over for a butchers, but only "seriously" interested ;)
-
Right, the mrs has a new shape 2.0 Beetle. What are the tuning options? Is it the same as the 2.0 Corrado? I know its the same as the 2.0 Mk4 GTi. Is it just not worth doing anything to it? Would a G-lader fit it? 8)

Would have thought so. Just pull the cover off mate, it may need a little gentle persuasion but its not too difficult.
