Lol! I always looked at your avatar and thought you lucky sod you've met michael winner! :D -
yeh thanks 4 that mate, i read that thread through and through before posting but my question is completely different. i am wondering if anybody knows of a copy lead that supports the CAN diagnostics interface used on the latest generation VAG's.......thanks
-
hi all, not sure whether this is the correct section, or whether im allowed to ask this (by all means remove if im breaking rules), but i was just wondering whether anybody knows of a non-genuine 'ebay' type vagcom lead that supports CAN interface that newer VW/VAG models come with (2004 onwards)......i know that its best to buy the genuine lead that supports all functions and always works but im a poor student and cannot afford it! a £10 ebay one is hit and miss ive read but would be worth a punt........i have a 16 pin connection under my gear gaitor.....oh btw i ask this cos my corrado is r32 converted with a 2008 58 plate engine.....thanks all
-
hi can somebody add me too as i also cannot edit, Atif (h6 vwc), HD2, 94 corrado r32. thanks

Lol kev point me in the way of more expensive goodies!! I guess 4 nw measured throttle inputs and short shifting are the order of da day.......but do u think da driveshaft angles cud be contributing or is that nonsense ive made up? Its currently sat on 16" split rims on avon zv3 tyres(not my choice) wid good tread......but also on h n r 20mm spacers.......im nt a fan of this setup as it feels ther is too much lateral wheel movement at speed.

Any ideas...ta

hey all, was just wondering if anyone who has r32 converted and fitted an lsd (i fitted wavetrac), whether it completely kills there wheelspin? i still get massive amounts through 1st and second gear and launches are a massive problem. all the vr6 owners that have fitted are enjoying no wheelspin and are very happy. i dont think its the extra torque (266lb/ft, 280hp) thats causing it as many vr6t owners do just fineif im right? the front end is rebushed, new balljointed, and suspensioned......tracking is ok, but all i can think is that as the r32 engine is sat at an angle in the bay (sloping towards transmission end), the shafts will also be at less than optimum angles and may be causing this?? i was going to trim the rear mount down to maybe cure this then go for computer 4 wheel align but was just wondering whether any of you had thoughts on what could be causing it?? thanks in advance ...

R32 / 3.2 24v Audi conversion guide

no problems Hasan anytime.... my costs were....mk5 r32 engine complete with ancillaries, ecu and engine loom, r32 dbw pedal, maf, 2 pre cat lambdas, manifolds.......£1300 i also fitted a wavetrac lsd, the fitted to the box price was £760. i paid swict £900..........the loom was £350 + vat, ecu defeats £120, remap £280, and the remainder i paid to mark for fitting as my fusebox wiring was an absolute nightmare with a million unconnected wires and i was quite frankly scared! lol Mark is a top bloke, he actually came up a second time (200 miles) on his day off, just for the cost of his fuel to sort out some electrical gremlins i was having, very helpful! custom downpipe and decat section i had made for £250, good time for a full exhaust but ive got a nice supersprint system i wished to retain so chose not to. i used 1 12" davies craig thermatic fan in the pull config in front of the rad....uses a panasonic motor so very reliable. sourced from gwerks £75 delivered....gave me a little discount due to mention the forum. will need v6 4motion bracket £50 from dealer, tensioner £100, serp belt gsf £8, pulley dealers £10, r32 pedal bracket, £5. obviously selling old engine ancillaries etc will raise funds to maintain cashflow. i refreshed my suspension (albeit on a budget with a brand new set of fk coilovers -£300), and rebushed the front end(r32), and new ball joints etc., engine mounts arent overly expensive and i chose to change my rear one, £55 from tps. the guy who sold me the engine butchered the ecu to fusebox loom, i found one from an audi a3 on edition, in perfect condition, which he posted straight to mark for £100. allow an extra few hundred pounds as loads of niggles can crop up after, for examplewhile my pas pumps were hanging lose they lost there copper washer, i absent mindedly refitted without and the resulting leak caused the pump to knacker from running dry! 10p cost me £50 a day of headache and 3 litres of fluid! oh r32 crack pipe can be used. battery relocation is a good thing to do, either to the boot or the opposite chassis leg where there is now loads of room. i used a cheapo fpr ~£40, and its holding pressure 4.2 bar just fine for now. -
R32 / 3.2 24v Audi conversion guide

That seems spot on and very similar to the way I did things......take care when trimming the front mount bracket, overengineering after the cut is a must, i welded in a brace, but my engine slipped forwards after a very agressive launch yesterday and the bracket ripped into the oil cooler! oh and you may plumb in for oil pressure on the filter housing or mark can put in an extra wire and relay something in the wiring instead. the bracket is a nice piece of ali and reasonable at £50 from the dealers...the tensioner is closer to £100.....i sourced mine for a tenner from a breakers.....also a dbw pedal even with broken clips isnt a complete waste, these can be safely mounted with a little trimming and drilling...(but be happy with its location).....downpipes can be fabbed up by a custom place to be perfect fits ....mine cost £250 ....however in the long run the dubpower may be easier and cheaper to go with. ill see if i can remember anything else lol....this is a great guide sam to what is a awesome conversion....doesnt take long its just the niggles right at the end that annoy....oh and rpm converter only essential if pin out 37 on r32 ecu isnt sending a rpm signal. I highly recommend Mark @ SWICT for the wiring, and remaps!! -
lol to took it like a man! i think the guy that made my down pipe just cursed mine cos he said id crack the sump at my ride height!! yeh ive gt a mk5 32 block in mine, but to be fair probably a 60-80mm drop (1 finger in the arch), it also sits below the subframe so i was aking for trouble!!
-
lol no worries Kev, its been learning for me aswell....dnt run that low!! got the sump off and as funds are low had it ali welded, gonna put back on after i replace the damn dual mass flywheel on my brothers golf.... :(
-
thanks guys, tried with a screwdriver but was finding it difficult. will give it another shot tomorrow. the hole in the sump is probably half an inch squared. howver the engine did not lose a drop of oil until i switched it off futher down the road. is this as the engine was on and sucking air thru the hole keeping the oil in whilst the oil pump circulated it around the engine? thanks
-
hey all, was out a few days ago enjoying the c32 and being a prat and running it too low i smashed and holed the sump on a speed hump!! anyways im in the process of taking the sump off, ive removed the 26? m8 spline bolts, however i think its also silicone gasketted onto the block. best way to remove this?? shall i heat it up.....if so blowtorch or heat gun? thanks in advance...
-
the 2 pins from the bracket push into the plastic clips in the pedal and lock in.....the clips are often broken when the pedal is emoved so could be why ya cant figure it out...the 2 holes are to mount the bracket to the floor.
-
lol why Hasan have u talked the wife round into having an extra 12 valves in your life?........im abit under the weather at the moment but will do a proper write up soon.....thanks
-
pictures are on the way.....ive misplaced my phone to pc lead!! but all i can say about the performance is wow!!!!! vag doc did the wiring and remap which he says with good induction and exhaust makes 280bhp.....and oh does it feel it!!! the car launches off and under throttle sounds bang on like a mk5 r32!!! im lovin it......nearly......vag doc needs to come back and get the rev counter working aswell as sort the fan and wiper wiring!! thanks
-
hey mort, there is a bracket you can buy from the dealers which you fix to the floor by drilling and bolting down and then the pedal has plastic clips which attach to the metal studs on this. however i dint like how high this made the pedal sit so i chopped the plastic mounting locations of wuth a saw and used black countersunk screws into the plastic. holds perfectly
-
i had to use a 24v pulley on my r32 engine, the 12v pulley size is different
-
thanks! yeh i cant wait but am abit nervous to be honest! oh well heres hoping.......yeh sure any input u need from me just ask dude
-
R32'd....remapped....wavetracced.....coilovered......should be ready tomorrow from the exhaust place.....went custom rather than dubpower.....got loadsa pics etc an info ive gathered..:...maybe collab with some r32ists on a guide to it..........atif
-
hi sam, have u any pics or tips/instructions on how u fabricated the front mount bracket to retain the r32 oil cooler? thanks
-
lol true!! no but in all honesty the work done by yourself and others and ur contibutions are what made me sure i could make this work, so thank u....if any1 is to blame its vw with their unhelpful parts workers in some towns!!
