many younger, more popular cars have rotted away and vanished from our roads since the corrado was born! the shell and panels are pretty solid, it's just the rest of the car you need to replace! on the other hand it feels like you need to be a millionaire to own a corrado, i always have a list of things that need sorting, useually expensive or difficult to find stuff. without e-bay corrado ownership would have been impossible!

icy grey violet in aberaeron filling station (perry's to us locals) looked very nice indeed, passed you a couple of days later between aberaeron and aberarth A487, was in my early silver 16v, exchanged waves, was also following a aberystwyth based red vr6.
-
hi, your corrado looks like mine when i started, a fresh coat of paint and new seats should sort it out! theirs two wires coming from the coolent bottle plug one is brown the other is blue/yellow, they head off over the coil the blue/yellow is the closest wire.
-
the other thing to look out for is the reflectors, you need them for the mot too, i have seen a corrado with all black lights then reflectors stuck around the numberplate :nono: don't over do the red or you could lose the reflection! i prefer the reverse painted red but i'm not keen on pink reverse lights. you could alter the size or shape of the reverse lights.

i had mine sprayed pinstriped so they still flash orange climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfSANY1015.JPG[/attachment:2ul5l25o] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfSANY1161.JPG[/attachment:2ul5l25o] SANY1199.JPG[/attachment:2ul5l25o]

thanks, everyone loves the seats, i do too. i'm sure i'l do a conversion at some point, probably a 20vt, 225 would be my max bhp. reliable, quiet and quick is what i want it to be. I'm not sure about the lights/grill setup myself either realy, i might put the standard front lights and red rears back on at some point, i like the black rears from some angles but directly from the back with the sun on them they don't look good, might go for red and black originals next. iv'e read throgh your thread before, that jig thing's amazing, i wish my corrado was repaired to that level.

thanks glad you like it. it's a difficult choice for sure 16vt or 20vt,i like that quote, it doesn't make the choice any easyer though
-
cheers dude, i was going to spray it a darker shade of silver, i'm glad i didn't too, you don't see many diamond silvers. my plans for the car are to make it as modern as possible without ruining the lines of the car, i'm probably finished with the outside and interior looks, i just want some brembo's now (black) and to get the car turbo'd either 16vt or 20vt, i don't want stupid power, basicly i want it to feel like a modern audi, which probably means lots of soundproofing and a quiet exhaust too and another respray after that, i want it to stay a daily driver too, sounds expensive. would love to be able to recondition the underside etc to new, maybe one day when i clear the garage.

why not a tdi golf or audi? you need a bit of power for good economy on the motorway according to jeramy clarkson.

:) not heard people call girls mate before! interesting idea though "i know, so she doesn't notice i'm trying to chat her up i'l call her mate" is that how it went? i always thought you could talk to girls like normal people! sorry i'm bored in work exactly, a year and a half? i've had mine more than five years and i think you have already overtaken me. what about the red lights tho? clash or not in your opinion?
-
yep its adjustable, thanks i'l have to check that too.

sorry this post might read as boasting, it's meant to be helping. :) i made a very interesting discovery recently. i did a favour for an old guy up the road and fitted a carpet in his camper, i got talking to the man about his very tidy metal fabrications in his camper and it turned out his son is one of the best exhaust manifold fabricators in the country! (uk not just wales) people send their old ferrari's etc from all over the country even europe to this bloke and he only lives a few miles from me. anyway, MR Dark as he is called got chatting about my corrado and if i had any plans for the engine etc and said he could get his son to return the favour  (he was talking cars hear) so i'm thinking, i'm going to go and chat to this guy asap as he doesn't only do exhausts, he apparently used to build f1 engines too! and has won top speed events on pembray sands using modded cosworth engines in kit cars. sounds a bit too good to be true but i believe him, so i'm going to go and chat with him and was wondering if this place could be a benefit to other corrado owners who need custom pipes for 20v/16v turbo conversions, i'm not sure which route i'm heading down yet but as i'm such a nice person i'd be willing to get extra turbo manifolds made to fit the corrado then send them on to whoever wants them as i think it would cut down the cost. i'm just trying to check if there is any interest first so i can go along with the info and see if it would work out cheaper, so if you have plans for a turbo conversion and want a top quality manifold post below.

thanks henny that clears it up for me, think i might save a few more bucks and get a brand new kit, that just leaves the engine :)

i have 16's and 17's, i think the 17's ride much better but other people will say the opposite, it might be that they ride better when you have coilovers fitted. looks wise i'd say 16's if they are deep dish, 17's if they are flat'ish type, if you look at the rear wheel with 16's on i think they look too small imo some will look ok tho like my favourite wheels, d90's. this just proves that wheel choice should always be your own opinion.

cool car, quite like wide arses  this is the quickest modded corrado i have seen on the forum, just not sure about the red lights, i think they clash with the body colour, unless your going for that Gock Wann (whatever his name is) girly clashing colour thing! in which case i think you should go for a pink corrado badge! :) do all English people call girls 'mate' sounds terrible :ignore:

my corrado was spotted by rep for MCD Wales, told my sister he had lambo styled doors on his, anyone on the forum?
-
:) cool, just made my sister happy and impressed with the corrado forum
-
:) thats how i do it, just replace everything
-
think i just sussed it, 151 g/km is that it? works out as £239 a 1/4 gross
-
does anyone know where i can find out the fuel scale charges for a audi a4 1.9 (130) diesel 53 registration, thanks
-
cool, thanks, are the badger 5 kits brand new or reconditiond at £745? seems a decent price, i would obviously prefer to save money and get a second hand setup, are the full setups rare second hand? so i need the 305 discs and the carriers off the seat then i can fit any 4 pot brembo's? with custom brake lines? i keep seeing brembo 4 pots off bmw's etc going for no money and i wonder if i can use these?
-
thanks for that, very helpfull, i have had the rack changed a few thousand miles ago so i'm glad its not likely to be that (good second hand one) wishbones and bushes are basicly new, cant remember what it was but i also had a ball joint changed, think it was the central one that connects to the arms? not very machanical minded myself so i dunno, think i can manage to check the inner track rod arm. more costs, i've done at least three thousand miles without a problem, best run in five years for me.
-
i'm looking at buying some brembo brakes for my kr corrado, i have been looking at ebay etc and the info on this forum but am still a little confused as to which calipers i can fit. do i just need the carriers off a seat then i can fit any 4 pot brembo's or do i need a compleat seat brembo setup? are their any other options aswell? like could i fit porche brakes etc

i think my steering rack is on the way out! driving to work today i noticed a knocking in the steering (i think left and right) it's like a small knock then it feels loose for an inch or so while turning. can anyone pleas tell me if these are the symptoms of a f##### steering rack? thanks in advance also noticed when i turned into a petrol station, i went over the lowered kurb and the wheels seemed to flick right angle to the kurb.
