i have a 95 corrado im breaking its nearly a bare shell. you could come and chop off the parts you want off that? wouldnt want much for it ide much rather see it go to good use restoring another one than scrap it whole. im local to you car stored near martlesham stu

first thing i would do is whip off the door card see if you have volts to motor when pressing button. do this using multimeter or bulb wiith two wires can be used :D if no volts check fuse/wiring back to fuse board if you have power and doesnt try to move it could be motor gone. if it trys to move but doesnt could be broken mech. hope this helps .i do have mech and motor if needed? stu

hi there mate scrolling thro post to find a fellow member living in the same village as me :D i live not far from the co-op a white G60 if youve seen it? i only completed my door card conversion last week end so if you need a hand give me a shout. the only thing i came across doing the conversion is the early door handles are a different shape to late ones so you will need these aswell as the late doorcards. also there are 2 extra brackets on the door for the late ones which wont be on your early doors. :( like i say give me a shout if you want any advise stu

hi mate i used to be a windscreen fitter for 10 yrs and would say if they think they can get a corrado screen out whole they havnt done many if any corrados! has any one on here ever heard of being done sucsessfully??? it can be done but mostly depends on if its ever been changed, nightmare if it hasnt cause glass brittle and is more likely to go. on the other hand if it has been done before fitters tend to put on to much glue to make sure it doesnt leak even more of a nightmare to get out hole .i would still only give you a 90% chance of saving it if it has been done well they are notoriously hard to get out do to the hard trims that run down the side and the facts they sit very low with little sealent between screen and body we all used to run a mile when we heard a corrado needed doing. LOL ps rac are ok as long as it isnt their own make of glass they fit!

to reply to a previous post yes that is a rac van. i used to work for RAC Auto windscreens Thought it was time to update my gallery post a few pics of my car. After an incident bout a year ago with my bonnet deciding to open at 70 it all kick started a bit of a restoration. :D After a long arguement with insurance managed to get it all fixed and got a full respray as well, all tho that did involve me stripping the car for him and putting it back together. i thought i might as well try and find a new door to replace a rusty one i had on while i was at it and kinda ended up buying other whole corrado LOL Well that was it b4 i knew it i was swopping all sorts over "might as well do that while am at, that ones better nick than this one " you know how it starts!? So far swopped from early grey interior to a mint late black interior, fitted the late bonnet and wings, late rear bumper, rad support, headlights, new clutch and passat td gearbox, 68mm pulley n chip, replaced wishbones, steering rod ends,anti roll bar bushes, new calipers, new exhaust soon to be de catted, thats about it i think! and still got these to fit [ATTACH=CONFIG]83612[/ATTACH] and these on the way [ATTACH=CONFIG]83613[/ATTACH] and before anyone says it yes i know, i should have had the arches rolled when i had it sprayed. hindsights a wonderful thing. :D Might well see it at some meets at some point soon! was wondering really if the subframe on a 95 2.0 16v is the same as a 91 G60? hoping to get it all painted and do a straight swap for mine :D

yes mate im pretty sure you will have to do the same as described above it is really easy. just be care ful when you take off the bottom bearing for the shift tower mine didnt wanna come off! twisting it after taking out the shift tower worked for me dont try and knock it side ways you will break it. i can get you a photo but you wont need it :D thats a first me giving advise!! :D

hi m8 im not able to drive it at the moment ive gotta get new cv joints,I didnt have my old ones to try. got it all up and running on axlestands tonight and i have drive and all seems good :clap: Im well happy if this is wot a decent clutch and gearbox feels like ! total transformation from wot i had :D just hope its fine when i drive it, watch this space

I eventually got round to installing my new CHB gearbox into my 91 g60 yesterday and all seemed to go well. fitted new clutch and box got the slave cylinder and shift tower in and thought i would check the operation of the gears before i put the rest back together. The thing that is troubling me is that the clutch seems extremely light! i have shone a torch thro the inspection bung and can see it is moving? I wouldnt have thought i would have to rebleed the clutch would i? i didnt disconnect it? What could i have done wrong? or was my clutch supposed to be this light b4? thanks in advance for any response cheers stu

hi all can anyone offer any advise on fittng this. as above i have been told i will have to "swop over the earlier shift tower". Is this easy enuf i have changed gearboxes but allways stayed away from pulling parts out of them? :D Also i still have the passat drive shaft flanges still in the chb gearbox, are they the same as G60 or will i need to swop them over? Any advice appreciated Stu

Hi all, after a few problems with my driveshaft coming out of the gearbox looks like i need a replacement gearbox for my 91 g60 :( are corrado gearboxes interchangable if so what else will fit on mine? i have a low milage box off a 95 2.0 16v will it go on and are the driveshafts the same?? i have searched but not found any answers thanks in advance for any advice i have sent a donation to andi

mate i know how it feels same happened to me 6 mths ago! bonnet was secure and had been for a couple of weeks since i opened it last and still just flew up at 70mph??? it mite not be as bad as you think tho, when i stripped mine it was surprising how much of the roof just popped out its probarly the bent sunroof & broken sunroof mech making it look worse than it is.mine looked a lot better as soon as i replaced that! re bond the strentheners light skim new windscreen and bonnet, and good as new i was gonna have a respray any way and managed claim on insurance pay £200 to the garage and got the whole car done! i did have to strip it ready for the garage tho but i learned alot doing it! chin up just thank your lucky stars your alive.i had my 4yr old boy in the car at the time and shat myself!!! never did find anything wrong with the bonnet mech tryed to make it and it wouldnt?? replaced it any way :D stu

i picked up the circlip today from vw to find it was alot smaller than i thought! i thought it went a bit further down the flange not right on the end!!?? am i right in thinking the lip has worn off the end where its supposed to go or have vw given me the wrong part?? has anyone got a photo of one so i know what its ment to look like :( DSCI0483.JPG[/attachment:aee09fww] this is mine

just had a fish around in side the gearbox and no sign of a circlip :confused4: hopefully fell out when the drive shaft did. wot do you reckon put on a new circlip and put it back in???? and refill oil obviously would a drive shaft off a 1995 2.0 16v be the same i think ive got a knackerd one in my shed some where? hopefully with a circlip

yes i have lost oil ive took the drive shaft out hub end as well now and cant see a circlip on the gear box end? where is it ment to be?
