update time again :D Since coming out of the body shop the cars not had a lot of tlc and the problems with the brakes and engine weren't getting any better! The road trip to scotland didn't do it any good thats for sure ,so i thought it was time to get it sorted, after all the cars to good to let it go to the dogs. So armed with some borrowed money the car was sent to psi :D Its having: 288 front brakes with ebc grooved discs and greenstuff pads [finally!] mk4 rear calipers and new cables[had new discs and bearings before] goodridge braided hoses And due to the 12v starting to use more and more oil, noisy chains, brown coolant as well as running badly its having a 2.8 24v with about 45k on it

good work mate,nice colour :D
-
Good choice, like you say if youv'e got a 4 cylinder car the 1.8t makes the most sence where if you have a vr the 24v is the best choice  dont forget to get some pics up mate
-
my heatshield had a tab on it that hooked under the wing iirc
-
as said before i'd go 1.8t [my plan was to do this to a valver before the vr came up] if you go vr you might as well go 24v :D

But what does that mean? Does the real cheap stuff not contain the detergents? My friend who works in the oil industry swears blind that the supermarket lorries fill up from the same refineries as Shell, BP etc Morrisons, asda and tesco tankers run out of the same place as total ,esso and texaco in manchester

Famous last words with a corrado! :D Mines the same but when it does work boy does it put a smile on my face and thats the part you have to focus on  If they were c##p to drive we just wouldn't put ourselves through it :D Good luck Terry

atleast then I can do my homework and build my trust in them rather than someone just turning up and taking it away! Thats exactly what i wanted to avoid !!!!!!!!!! Keep your chin up mate at least it not wrecked [and its a good excuse to get that horrid rear tow eye smoothed :D or thats my excuse and im sticking to it] :D It will all turn out ok in the end mate! Terry

That sounds both scary :pale: but also good  hopefully I can get a similar outcome with mine! To be fair to the insurance they prob expected the car to be worse than it was, when the assessor came round he said it was repairable and then it was easy, i just got in contact with the bodyshop then told the insursance where i wanted it to go and that was that mate. Terry
-
Sorry to hear this mate, the same happened to me a few weeks ago the bloke from the insurance company said they would write it off because of the age of the vehicle over the phone!! I was not impressed :D but after standing my ground it was repaired in a bodyshop of my choice and i even had a few mods done as well so all is good again. All the best with it mate Terry

Just noticed the PS reservior! Get the battery in the boot and then take a cold feed from behind the headlight  Edit; does that air feed go through a hole where the ps was?
