Driving to work today through Alvaston in Derby and some scrote of a kid thought it would be a funny idea to come running across a green towards my car (whilst I was driving!) and throw a stone at it! :censored: I slammed on the anchors and the kid pegged it, didn't really want to give chase because tbh I'm a female on my own and I'd be far more vulnerable. Luckily no damage done, but why bother doing something like that?! :mad2: What is wrong with people?!! This kid couldn't have been older than 12, if his parents found out I have a feeling they wouldn't give a monkeys. Makes my blood boil!

I have a picture somewhere of me on the M1 - very proud of myself I managed to close a whole lane due to the fact that it was in the middle of road works! I've also had to be recovered from a Parent and child space at Sainsburys when the immobiliser gave up - needless to say the pee'd a few mothers off (I don't have a child - the spaces are just too convenient not to nip in there!). One woman had a go at me "Have you parked there?!" "No," I replied, "I have BROKEN DOWN there".

Hi all, I've got a 1990 1.8 16v and its been producing quite a bit of blue smoke on idle since I bought the car a few weeks ago. Then when I went to start it this morning it was running really rough and the engine head itself was shaking. Sounded like a tractor! As part of trouble shooting and general servicing I went to replace the spark plugs. Pulled out the first one and its soaked in oil. Any ideas where the oil is coming from and how I need to fix this problem?! The only other thing I've reaplaced so far is the rocker gasket. The cosmetic issues on my car I can deal with but the fact that I can't drive it is killing me! Any help, tips or advice is really appreciated EF.

I've had two people stop me in the car park at work this week to talk to me about a car. Both chaps said "I've always fancied a Corrado". I knew one of them and I think he was really surprised that I drove a C - I love surprising people!! :D

I've only just noticed your from Newton!! I grew up there and my parents are still there so I visit regularly :) I'll keep my eyes out for you next time I'm down there...

I use CarPlan Trim Wax and it works a treat and lasts for ages.

- Sort out oil breather issue, the smelly blue smoke look just isn't working - Full respray (which is going to be freeeeeeeee! thanks to my brother having all the bits to do it properly) - New wheels - Shampoo interior I think thats about it for now, I'm sure more issues will raise their head.

We almost bought our first house last year, mighty glad we didn't. We're currently renting a lovely house that we've been in for 4 years for a pretty low amount. I'm part of the group who is selfishly waiting for house prices to plummet and then strike whilst the iron is hot, in the hope that they'll start to rise again. Although the money I should be putting towards the house deposit seems to being spent on other things...couldn't possibly be my 'Rado

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
EskimoFriend replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
I'm not jealous at all - I wanted those wheels! Over the last week I have t-cut and wax the whole car, shampooed the carpets, cleaned the seats, got the dash looking so clean you could eat your dinner off it, trim waxed the grill and fitted new front and rear VW badges. Its starting to look pretty darn good. Next job is to get the rocker cover gasket replaced and clean the breather. Then wheels, then exhaust, then rust spots...oh dear  -
Electricals? Thats VW for you! My boyfriends Mk2 GTI is a nightmare, you put the indicator on, the wipers come on and puffs of white smoke come from the steering colomn. Or you just switch the ignition on and the wipers come on of there own accord, with more smoke!

..and I hate to think how much its going to be for. Bought my Corrado two weeks ago and now its had to go into the garage. Needs a new wheel bearing, and there seems to be an engine issue - from the sounds of it the rocker cover gasket needs replacing and the valve stem seals too. Hey ho, will be the first bill fo many no doubt

I got my first wave today!! Its like being in a special club. :salute: Driving through Hathern, Leics on the A6 towards EMA and a blue (not sure which one it was) went the other way and waved. Never had that before in any other car!

Que? Am I missing something as its about to be changed!

Here's my lovely lovely 'Rado - first one I've ever owned and needless to say I LOVE it. Need a few things sorting - theres a few rust spots, needs a new front badge, the door handles are rather faded, need to change the wheels but they'll all get sorted in good time.

Here's my Corrado (which I've only just bought today!) alongside my b/f Mk2 GTI - both in matching black :D Not the best of photos as they are both in desperate need of a wash and polish!

I've just bought my first Corrado! Finally! :D  Its a 1990 1.8 16V in black and I'm so chuffed its untrue. Although I don't actually have possesion of it yet - got to go pick it up on Tuesday. Its been a long search, but we got there in the end. Can finally give my boyfriends Mk2 Golf GTI back so he can start playing with it again - which needless to say hes pleased about. So no doubt you'll be seeing a lot more of this newbie about. Oh, in a related note, saw a black C (not sure whether it was a valver or not) in the outside lane of the M1 going north about 20 miles south of Sheffield on my way to see the one I've just bought - it was a sign!

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... x_mileage= I was very tempted to go have a look.

So nice to see someone with a relatively similar dilemma! I started my PPL two years ago but had to stop due to my job not paying as much as I needed. Now that issue has been rectified, I could go flying again...if I wasn't just about to buy my first Corrado  Ooops.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, been reading it for quite a while and pouring over the classifieds. I'm off to see a 1990 Valver tomorrow and I know this has probably been asked several times before, but is there anything specific to Corrado's I should be looking for? Feel free to just point me to other threads if you want! I'm currently driving my boyfriends Mk2 Golf, and as much as I love it, I need a Corrado stat! Thanks in advance, EF
