  1. i have had a look on vagcat and the 02m gearbox is listed on the TT, will the gearbox off the 1.8T fit as well as they seem to be more available. I didn't realise that the audi box were compatable. Can anyone confirm which cars have a 4wd box that will fit the Vr6 ian
  2. They seemed to get snapped up, but dsg boxs don't from what I can gather. I will find one that is suitable and cheap, so the audi tt will fit and i assume the s3 will fit as well.
  3. At this stage as cheap as possible, I am in no rush to get one as I have until next may to source one. I don't really want to pay more than £300 for working gearbox and transfer box. But I have not seen many non dsg boxs for sale and don't want to get robbed by a breakers. ian
  4. Yeah I hope so, Doing the research and buying parts I don't want the car off the road for too long. I am going to america in may and want to be well into the rebuild by then, as thats when I am getting a lot of the parts together and hopefully avoid the import and the dreaded. I will get a build thread when i make a start in earnest. Ian
  5. Thanks James, I have researched the work required to do the conversion. Just wasn't sure if the mkv had the 02m box. I have got my eye on one, just need to get it at the right price. ian
  6. I have a 93 vr6 which is coming off the road in winter to convert to turbo. :D While it is out I am going to fit a 4wd gearbox to upgrade to 4wd once the turbo has been setup and tested on the road. :D My question is does anybody know if the mkv manual r32 gearbox will fit the vr6 engine. I am assuming that it still uses the 02m box. :confused4: ian
  7. Cheers james, I need to keep my car on the road as well for work. I know you had a head for sale, is it still available. Ian
  8. Hi, I am doing a recon on a vr6 head and was going to do all the normal stuff, but was wondering if it is worth replacing the valves and the guides or just the guides. After 100,000m are the valves likly to have worn or just check the tolerences when they come out. Any help welcome. Ian
  9. The insulation on wire will not burn even if it subjected to a massive load. It melts and smoulders but thats when the problems start as the heat involved can then heat surrounding materials which will cause a fire. ian
  10. I am also looking at this mod as I am going turbo. :D I find it is always easier to pick the brains of someone who has done this already. where have you routed the cable from the boot. I assume it is down one side of the interior of the car then through the firewall. Also is it best to earth the battery in the boot or run a second cable back to the front of the car. Is there any other safety points to consider when doing this mod. thanks ian
  11. Hi again, Been looking to the exhaust side of my turbo converion as I am getting the part together for the inlet side. I am going with a tubular manifold like yours, for the same reasons. I want a custom turbo position and don't want to have to use remote brake servo etc. Just a quick one about your pipe dia. from the downpipes. I have got a set on the way but want to get the tubing before it arrives so I can get straight on with fabrication. It looks about 2" can you confirm this so I can get the tubing sorted. Thanks Ian
  12. Thats the one, thanks for that. I am hoping it will be worth it, was looking at supercharged 24v but decided against it. cheers Ian
  13. Hi, Great conversion looks great hope it lasts this time. Been reading this thread with interest as I am starting a homemade turbo conversion soon. I am starting on the inlet manifold first and I am just getting the parts together. Just wondering what the pipe was at the bottom of the new inlet manifold. Ian
  14. check on the wiki buying guide there is a list of things to check. ian
  15. There are some for sale on here at the moment. The problem is dodgy sellers sometimes get rid of the light as there is a problem with abs. This sounds like your problem so expect to have to have some work done on the ABS system when you have fitted the new light. Ian
  16. As you look at the dash it is the top light above the fog light switches should be two switches wide. hope this helps.
  17. I have been to a few accidents where cars have rolled over, although I have never been to one involving a Corrado I can quite confindentley say that that damage is not normal. As whole most cars hold up well when rolled. I have never seen one as badly damaged as that. I hope it wasn't on it's way to the owner. Ouch :censored:
