  1. Hi all, For sale are my genuine 996 turbo twists complete with centre caps. The front pair are 7.5x18 et 50 and the rear are 9x18 et 52 these came off my Corrado VRT and are now up for sale. These are in good condition and just need a wipe from being in storage but do have kerbing marks on all four. They were run on 215/35/18 tyres so had plenty of stretch on the rear. The wheels have tyres on but are well below legal limit so would need swapping. £350 Picture 1 - front Picture 2 - Example of kerbing marks on front Picture 3 - rear Picture 4 - Stretch on inside rear Picture 5 - Stretch on outside rear. Collection from Mirfield, West Yorkshire Contact me if you have any questions Thanks ian
  2. Hi all, I have a vr6 gearbox for sale bought from G60Knight on the forum as a replacement for the busted box in my VRT, took my old box in for repair and they had a third gear in stock and swapped that in so this box is back up for sale untouched. It has not been on car but was told it is a solid box with no crunches etc. Looking for £100 collected from Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Cheers Ian

    Vr6 gearbox

Hi all, Third gear decided it no longer wanted to be Part of the gearbox on my vrt so I am in need of a new box. I live near Leeds and would prefer to stay local but would consider travelling if the price was right. Let me know what you have got. Thanks in advance Ian
  4. Yeah thats right £105 to put on retention including assignment to next owners vehicle or £80 for a straight transfer. People like regtransfers etc. don't include transfer fee in there value. ian
  5. It depends if it is a cherished number or the original number. If it is a cherished number then put it on retention for £105 this includes the assignment fee to transfer it to another car. Then advertise for the price you want and sell it. If it is the original number then I am unsure but I would think you will have to purchase a cherished number to put on your car and the sell the original. hope this helps Ian
  6. Hi, Don't know about MOT but check this out as it may be some help.http://www.oichan.org/mods/abs/abs2.htm Ian
  7. Got to be the F1 for me, that was the only situation where the Veyron would win put them on a track and the F1 would easily kick it's ass. The Veyron is brilliant as a grand tourer but as a drivers car there was one clear winner for me, not that I would be dissapointed having a drive of a Veyron but i would sell a kidney to have a drive of the F1. ian
  8. A fortnight in Orlando going to Disney. Fly saturday and prob come back with swin flu. ian
  9. yeah somebody on here posted a link up a while ago still makes me chuckle when I see it. ian
  10. If it is going to be your daily I would go for the TT, my wife is going to get a v6 one I went for a test drive in one a couple of weeks back and it was brilliant. I use my vr to work every now and again and on a weekend. I love it and will never get rid of it but as I said if I could only have one and it was a daily it would be the TT all the way. Once you have been out in one your question will be answered, also try and have a go in a dsg they are great. ian
  11. hi, not into scene points but have you thought about air. ian
  12. Like all the good work going on. Is that the only box you are running james, if so won't it be a little loud? ian
  13. Bummer mate. I don't know if there is any room to weld on a bolt. Then just use a normal wrench. An inch of weld is supposed to take a ton in weight. Hope this is a viable option Ian

hi, Why not look at the 3.2 v6 model they seem sensibly priced for what you get. I know that the 1.8 is more easily tuned but you can't beat the v6 soundtrack. ian
  16. I second the nimbus grey and metallic brown, I am having mine done soon but will be keeping it original colout but before I decided I looked at both the above colours.
  17. :D Brilliant, looks like it was built in a basement with no lights.
  18. Hi, Look on the wiki guide, the details are on there. It is better to get new ones as most of the old ones are knackered. Ian
  19. Hi, There are only three things I can think of. 1, On of the positive wires has earthed causing a fuse to blow.(connected to sunroof i think) 2, The ISO connector has a wire loose. 3, The ISO connector has different ways to connect it up to allow you to have the stereo on whilst the ignition is not on etc. if this has been fiddled with it may be connected up wrong. Hope you sort it mate. Ian
  20. Hi, Yes I would also say the same, if you look closley you can see some damage on the bottom corner of the bumper. The damage on the screen and roof is consistant with an impact from striking a pedestrian. Ian
  21. hi, If you like not driving your car and spending most of the time ring round for parts etc. then the alfa all the way otherwise it would be the golf for me. I had a 147, it was a great looking car nice to drive and fairly fast but it was always in the dealers being fixed and that was after a wait for parts and no courtesy car. The dealer service is rubbish, and the cost of dealer sourced price are a bit steep. As always it is personal opinion but that is the experience I had with an Alfa But as Top gear said you can't call yourself a car entusiast until you have owned an Alfa. Ian
  22. hi, When I bought mine it was only £14 extra to insure a vr6, go figure. Sounds strange that a 2.0 is more expensive. If it is going to stay standard for a while try directline. My insurance is only £280 fully comp for the vr, I will change next year when the mods start in earnest. ian
  23. You could do to know the flow rate of the standard injectors, as they may need upgrading to cope with the power. But as an approximation the figures above would not be far off. With that flow rate if you pushed the injectors to 100% duty cycle they would be capable of running 370bhp. Just my 2p worth but it is always better to over spec if the money allows. Ian edit: if the injectors are running at 100% as boost monkey said to make 300bhp by uprating to a 4bar FPR then at 100% duty cycle you could get 340bhp.
  24. Hi, Had a look into the required flow rate, I get it as follows based on 300bhp at flywheel and 80% duty cycle and a injector pressure at a normal 43.5 psi. 393.8cc/min per injector so 24 litres/hr so 6 injectors running would be 144 litres/hr hope this helps ian
  25. I am not an expert but, I think that is a vacuum pipe that helps control the emmissions with the carbon canister. If it has a leak it could be a factor that is causing your problem. ian
