They are error free bulbs, they don't flash crazy quick like when you have a bulb out, in fact it might even be normal, just quicker than I'm used to in the audi. To me it doesn't warrant fitting resistors as well.
-
Yeah a pair. I think they are flashing a bit quicker than standard but it's Def not the crazy speed setting. I'll try and get a pic so you can see how they light up

these are the bulbs in case anyone interested http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151741241314?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

ok so i got her back late yesterday afternoon. She needs a wash (very mild with all new kit that is softer than a baby's ass crossed with a peach covered in feathers), but even without that I'm very pleased! Took it out for some pics and within seconds someone wandered over to have a look and tell me how nice it looked!! I love the rear end, all reds turned out great, even if i do say so myself. I bought some very bright (and expensive) Cree based LED amber bulbs, they are amazing, shine through 100% amber, not even a dark amber, perfect. As you can see have gone for gloss black rear plinth along with gloss black corrado script and new black rear badge yummy! picked up the window deflectors at Inters, love the look, also fitted the new pressed plates I had made up/ front end, have continued the gloss black theme for the badgeless grille. I think at some point i'll do the headlamp surround gloss as well. you cant tell too well here but also gloss black for the inner piece of the wing mirrors, which are brand new ones, nice smooth action now hehe, new sticker I'm now after a lupo / TT wiper set up so if anyone has anything lying around, let me know
-
Haha. It's done!! Going to pick it up later. Whoop whoop!!

Elbow grease and firstly a craft knife then 400 grit wet and dry. If anyone is going to do their lights I can't stress enough how important it is to flat well. 400 then 800 then 1200, each time when you think you've finished, keep going for another 30 minutes!

Its like waiting for Christmas!
-
Should be finished and ready to pick up on Tuesday! !
-
love the front end, the tinted lights look fantastic against the red! was that a laminX job?
-
bags will be next along with engine bits, though as you say wallet definitely has to recover first! Edition 38 is on my radar but it looks like most of my weekends are now booked up until then so not sure i'll get in anything else. small update, mirrors finished last night. the other part of them will be gloss black, these are brand new mirrors from which ever website it was that was doing them dirt cheap! thanks for the feedback guys. can't wait to get it back and take her somewhere pretty for some photo action!

a couple of pics from todays visit. everything has now been painted, 'just' needs flat and polish bumpers after f&p, looking sexy! also i finished my all red rears and dropped them off ready for the fit up later in the week after the lacquer had dried for a few days I flatted back with 1200 grit (right hand light), then used Megs Scratch X to polish up to a shine, love this stuff, leaves no micro scratches or swirls at all, the one on the left is the finished article now to order some amber LED bulbs....

Rest of the car done
-
yup very excited! At the latest it will be the end of next week. All colour will be done today and lacquer will be done monday / tuesday, then a couple of days to put it back together...
-
that's a PITA. I remember doing some wheels a number of years ago, they looked great. Went to them a couple of days later and it looked like someone had poured Nitromors onto them..
-
great pics
-
yay some point has gone on!! rest of the car today!
-
No time or space to do it myself so having to pay for that pleasure
-
did the second two coats of tint last night, lacquer this eve. Also bought some wind deflectors up at Inters at the weekend, for the bargain price of £20. Can't wait to this back!! need to be strong when i do and resist the urge to wax it for a month or so!

Looks good. If your mk5 is anything to go by then this should be one to watch. Especially interested in the air ride as that is on my to do list. .
-
further plans will be air and engine, ideally forced induction of the current lump but if not then something tasty like a 2.0 TFSI bit of progress on the all red rears, flatted before another coat of red tint. Will stick that on tonight so I can start lacquering them tomorrow evening went by the body shop today, good news and bad news. Good is that all is going really well, bad news is that its not going to be done by the weekend so I wont be able to show it at Dorset Volksfest boohoo.... Anyway a few more pics... should be some colour on it in the next few days. No looking like the end of next week, by the time its all put back together...

I haven't yet. It's fairly stiff so I think it will stay in place. If it doesn't my plan was to use magnets. As weak as poss or it might impede the spring release..

We have solid works at work. Send me the files!

Cheers. The very lower part will be stoneguard feathered on top edge to smooth. It causes more trouble than it solves, having just fixed all the holes I don't want to recreate the conditions for more lol!
