  1. Hey Ive intermittently had a pulsing through my 93 abv rado, feels just like ur running out of fuel. I noticed it the other day when crawling along in traffic, car jerks and pulses like a :censored: Its now progressed to every time when on partial throttle no matter the speed. Car seems lacking in power but picks up when past 3500 revs plugged into a vag com and no faults are stored. nothing obvious hanging off to look at under the bonnet, checked all elec plugs and connections Had new spitfire plug leads 2500 miles ago same time as a service new charcoal cannister and new fuel filter Cam sensor and Pickup 800 miles ago Changed my isv and complete induction hose 800 miles ago for a as new s/h one I did notice a faint fuel smell when parking earlier but no visual leaks at all Got a new set of plugs that ive been meaning to fit but any ideas? The only things under the bonnet that i havent renewed in the 5 years of owning the car are: air flow meter fuel pressure reg coil pack injectors loom knock sensors crank sensor
  2. Yeah mate how could you tell.. Decided to have a stroll on the beach - seeing as i spent all valentines day working on my car. The girlfriend decided on taking a quick picture seeing it was such a nice day.
  3. Hey Getting paranoid now... Ive now done about 2500 miles since i completely rebuilt my abv engine, but: I have noticed that i have a slight oil leak from the head to block on the o/s of the engine. looking through the forum i have caught bits about having to re torque the head down after the anitial run up - is this the case? With new stretch bolts there should be no reason to surely?.... Also while im here, although i replaced all the chains, tensioners and guides with new genuine bits - should i change my upper chain tensioner for the "all plastic" one and if i do can i get away with leaving the double style chain? Thanks paul
  4. yeah recovered my headlinning in black suede aswell, looks the business when done!!!!! Went down to halfords and got a black interior spray, painted all the roof trim, sunvisors and switches. used a pin to remove the paint covering over the switch illumination. The sunroof edging trim was the only thing i had to go gentle with, too much paint and you get a cactus feel.
  5. Hey Sorry long time to reply - Didn't realise i had a reply. These are the wheels i wanted to fit. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf207_large.jpg[/attachment:lu0mr41r] or c9df_1.jpg[/attachment:lu0mr41r]
  6. I agree with above comment, UR ONLY PROLONGING THE INEVITABLE. We use Fort'e conditioners with my work and they do the job but if wear is there its a temporary fix, dependig on wear depends how long things last. Had similar prob with my vr occasionally smoking on overun and as it is a daily drive i did the il sort it another day, Jobs soon stack up, eventually saved the money and bit the bullet after blowing 3rd gear on my gearbox. Pulled engine out and apart. Provided its only the head to sort it wot be too too expensive, but parts and money do start to add up! If ur spark plugs are getting all clogged up and its using excessive oil the problems may be lower in engine. I hoped for only valve stem seals shot but I found i had scorred bores and a breaking up timing chain tensioner greeting me when i did mine, ended up doing a complete engine rebuild less the crank with new parts and having a re-bore with oversized pistons. Would'nt be doing it again, would do a r32 swap, prob have worked out cheaper. A cheap quick fix would have been to get rid of it when things began and buy another. Not meaning to scare you mate. Urs may not end the same as mine but bear this in mind if its smoking badly and using oil.
  7. Hey im sure its been asked countless times before but : On my 93 corrado vr6 can i fit 7.5 x 17 et 23 with 215/45on the front and 9.0 x 17 et 15 with 255/40 on the rear without too much hassle? Currently im running standard suspension which inted to change Apart from needing pcd adapters how much of a ball ache n cost would i be looking to get them to fit and look right? Cheers
  8. Hey not yet, fitted a new genuine one when did engine rebuild - 1500 miles ago.
  9. Well changed the sensor and it ran smooth without cutting out. Down on power but no black smoking, but within a day its gone all gone t**s up. Back cutting out, miss firing etc.. Plugging it back in tommorrow and see what other joys it spits up.
  10. Sorted the b***h, blue temp sensor. Ran engine up to operating temp, dissconnected sensor and bridged it, ran it for while till engine note changed runs smooth with no black smoking. test run and all good, under powered but expect because its running v lean. Will have to reconnect it to start it tommorrow mornin but ordering a new sensor tommorrow.
  11. Hey, long time coming but got round to pluging car in. Cleared all faults but only had manifold temp sensor fault back, changed sensor but fault still reocurrs. Traced wiring in engine bay and went through checking for breaks in wiring etc... But Problems are : down on power, missfire , black smoking, intermittent lumpy n jerky operation, Idle from 1500rpm - 0 regularly, the cutting out when trying to idle is more common, usually when warmed up. Ive removed the icv and cleaned it, felt like it ran bit better for a bit but all faults still happenin and the intermittent problems seem to be daily. Checked all hoses and connections for leaks, none found. checked crank sensor for any debris etc, nothing visual, Have new plug leads on way but any ideas? apart from buying a new maf to see if things change or new cam sensor.
  12. Hey i have just recently fully rebuilt my 93 vr6 engine. Im currently still bedding in the engine  But: Recently its started to idle roughly when it is in the higher temp range with almost a missfire. Also If you turn off the engine and later start it, the car imediately cuts out and wont idle. You can drive the car still but with revs, when you come to a junction etc.. it cuts out. Cutting out is intermittent but is getting more common. I was thinking mabie a fuc***d temp sensor to control ecu fuel mixture, If so which sensor? Am i barking up the wrong tree? Any ideas? Ive got to clear the fault codes still from the rebuild but havn't the time to mess about with pluggig in and reading faults
  13. Have heard of a upgrade for a standard thermostat, suppost to open earlier around 70 degrees rather then 95! Is this true/available....who by??
