hi folks, ive still got my idle prob with my 9a (which is now hunting and cant stop it :bad-words: ) but ive herd from a faint sorce that there is a black box the size of a b&h packet thats behind the center console which controls the icv??????? any thoughts on this, where abounts it is and if its true?? regards liam :D

too true now that the splits are becoming harder to get hold of the type 25s are the near future classics not for me tho i prefer the bays as i have two lol when mines been completed its been valued at £17000 :gag: its crazy!! but ya gota love em you get soo much attention its stupid.

hi guys remember i had a noise after i put the cams in my 9a .......... well after a bit of time i finally got round to taking the sump of to day and found the results were satisfactory, well in a way of that i found the fault anyway not it the way my wallet sayslol :tongue: number 2 shell had broken up into two pieces and had turned bronze soooooo i need new ones greatttttt lol il get the pics up the crank was not damaged niether were the thrush washers or main bearings soo ina a way i cought it early. just gota pay out 40 quid for a set of shells!! thanks for everyones input tho liam

oh yeh lol durrr. yeh i got me mate at work to listen and he dosent rely think it is either he seems to think combustion noise or start of big ends or little just wait to see if it gets worse but its only done 109 k so i shall just wait and see whats the difference with abf cams then mate? i keep hearing about them im not clued up with all that technicality stuff :( L

hey flusted yeh i did indeed ive narrowed it down now to the timing chain i have either put it on the opposite way or the right way and it needs to whear to the different cams but its gona take a loooooonng time so i may just get a new one.... btw they are fine what you supplyed and they do make a difference but also i sorted the running too it was the metering head the c is running sooo well atm im well chuffed :D im hoping it will quiet down afther i do the chain cheers liam

in what way do you mean tighten the tentioner up i did it like i do al other tentioners :scratch: well i know it not a tooth out and ahhh damit it goes sooo well as well whats up with the tentioner then easypops ??? cheers for your help liam

hi ive just soent today putting the kr cams in and im very chuffed but>>> thers always a but>>>>>.... now ive got a realy bad noise about 3 k revs i can here it under load and at stand still it sounds like a diesel really bad do i have reason for concern??? its like a diesel do they make a different noise to the 9a cams it also sounds like a ratterly distributer on a 5 cylinder engine its hard to describe but thats the best i can do. also if i give it the big one it does pink at high revs a little i think.... any ideas many thanks liam

been towed twice in my valver hehe was fun the first time, i say fun i mean scary as the person towing was my dad in his audi s2 and hes got a big right foot :lol: theres a long straight to my house and you guesed it we hit 50 and its a single track lol :( and the secon time was my mate when i snaped my tow eye cover wished id seen this post first :| and the bar fell of and he dint notice as he was in his 20v coupe lol i was left in the road untill he reliased lol not fun!!

Hi guys.... has anyone had water ingrees problems (prob have lol) well i thorght id check out here before i try and find it the hard way.... :D so i just wondered if anyone knew where water would be coming in, its in the drivers front footwell (large puddle) and in the rear passenger side (average puddle) any help would be much apriciated! loverly british weather :cheers: liam

hi mate its liam ive been reading your post and now i recognise who you are lol the pipe off is the pipe which goes onto the vac pump for the cold start flap in the air box, the brass pipe im not sure about ill have a look tomorow on mine for ya, and the coolant temp is what i said it could be after trying the isv!!!! and i havnt got one lol im sure some one has tho or they are £23.90 from vw!! hope this helps i know it prob wont( :) )

hi guys just a quicky im still tryin to sort the prob wiv my car broken down and im hoping its gona be the distributer that im getting from here! :clap: but im still not convinced that it is gona fix it as i dont seem to be getting much fuel out of the metering head ive got great pressure into the head just not out goin to the injectors?? any ideas or light dam rado soo annoing :mad2: liam

well ive had them on the matt black golf for 6 months now and havt got pulled for that and ive been pulled for other reasons and they havnt said anything weird isnt it but they havnt got the plaqets (sorry still cant spell it :scratch: ) soo annoin isnt it .....

thats my only concern but its like everything my mind is telling me one thing and my c is telling me another and that is sod the concequences get em lol yeh not sure the stickers are at the top of the list of things to buy!!! tbh
