So fay and i went over to the scrappy today to look for the rear bumper and we couldn't believe the gem we found...! this beauty was just waiting for the big carpark in the sky and all that was wrong was a blown gasket... the rest of the car was mint! it was just unfortunate that some fool-of-a-took put it through the scrappage scheme so we couldn't buy the whole car! :brickwall: the whole car was good, besides the rear bumper unfortunately... just my luck it has a ding in it too! tell you what tho, Fay and i had a f*cking field day trying to save as much of the car as possible! along with another carrado forum member... who turned up too late as we had dibbs on most of the car by then  alloys were almost perfect bar some minor bubbling on the front passenger side... tho they were going for £200 so we left em... pleanty of tyre tred tho! managed to get a bit from the engine that was leaking on mine... forgotten what it was called... radiator guard the boot lid stopper original 1st aid kit unopened for FREE!!! centre console minus the handbrake as fay had that... rubber strip that went over the scuttle trim engine cover that was the short list really... i think i might have a bit more but i'm not sure... fays list was a little more vast... that included almost the entire innards of the car... all the seats, a bit of the dash, all the door cards... her list goes on and on! she probly got more after as i had to shoot back but i know she had at least 2 jetta full loads... we did this car a favour! saving as much of it as we can! c'mon Fay! put ur back into it! A full load in the jetta!

i did try that sean but it didn't happen... i was pushing the car up and down the drive today and found that the noise is coming from the driver side wheel... thats all i could find, then i almost got run over by my car so i gave up...

i want i want!!! that was like an 8 min lap!!! sweet as! -
so, despite being done up the rear, the car has been driving perfectly bar a minor knocking noise... it's been like this since getting the work done... It's quite odd... the knocking is fairly intermittant and will only happen when pulling away and seems to happen once per revoloution of the wheels... usually when it happens i get a couple of knocks and then goes away... mainly happens after i pull away when the car has been stationary for a while, so in the morening when leaving for work and the afternoon when leaving work to go home it will almost always happen... tho having said that i was stuck in a lot of traffic yesterday and heard it a lot when creeping... i know it's coming from the drive train somewhere... i'm thinking possibly CV joint... something could have been disturbedwhile it was apart and sped up a fault that was bound to occur... as i said id doesn't always happen so when i tried driving slowly in circles at full lock i couldn't get it to happen... i can also hear it when i let the car roll out of gear... deffinately NOT an engine issue... (thank god)... So, i think CV joint as do a couple other ppl that i've spoken to... any thoughts on this ppl? I'll speak to Dave about it anyway since i'm going up there next week... i may give him a call earlier in the week in case it is and has to order parts... just get it sorted... more money to spend... oh well

Cheers fella

Right... so it's been a while since last season of forza3 and now time to move onto a new season! What better way to get it crackin than to have an endurance race...!  we've not really got onto the refueling side of things just yet so it would be good to get crackin on that.. we'll discuss tracks, class, laps etc once we get some drivers together... So! having said that... we need 8 drivers to sign up for the endurance race... (this is not for the whole next season, just the endurance) ok so we're full now the 8 drivers are...: -=Kris=- Alex_ferritboy_fanatic Yandards mic_VR ben16v Donjon gixxer 3corsameal results are as follows... -=Kris=- mic_VR 3corsameal mic_VR's mate Yandards Donjon - DNF connection drop Alex - DNF P*ssy whipped and had to dust gixxer - DNF connection drop

the (carnage) ding... The damage inside the boot... this was the worrying bit... a bit of flaking paint too dent under the badge... bumper out of line... And a scuff on the new exhaust... (if anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of this i'm all ears!) So it's not the end of the world... but will need bashing out and a lic of paint... the inside of the boot will be a bit warped but noone will see that so i'm not too bothered by it...
-
I'll add that one to the tally then  It's fine... It's repairable and it could have been a whole lot worse... As Jon said tho, it's easily done... It's not like you did it on purpose....................... Or did you?!?! i mean with all the nice new shiny bits on the car...... jealousy is a cruel misstress! :ignore:

Well, going to see DG next week to get an expert opinion... will get it sorted straight after that... Dave (after calling me in fits of laughter) says that it shouldn't be too much of a problem to fix up without having to cut the bent metal out... He mentioned that (off the top of my head) Judiths car had rolled backwards into a bollard and there was a lot more damage on that... that was repaired without having to cut anything out... so i'm confident i can get it looking perfect again without chopping the car up... :) Going to the scrappy this weekend to see a replacment bumper... the current one is caved in and well need to go in the bin now... :gag: For those of you that don't know what i'm talking about, i got hit up the chuff on sunday on the way back from the south coast meet... was another corrado too... (not going to mention who, as they are on the forum and may want to remain nameless 8) )

No. To my shame I swapped over to T1Rs late last summer, mostly due to the cost and the seemingly endless visits to the tyrefitters to get replacements. I added it all up and (including trackdays) I went through 23 tyres in a little over 31,000 miles at a cost of over £2,700 in just three years of running. The R888 is a phenomenal tyre but I just couldn't continue to justify the cost of replacing them. Not only that but I found out (the hard way) that all the extra performance from them also translates through to the running gear. During those 3 years I had both front bearings replaced (twice), both CVs, the ARB links and not to mention an unexpected gearbox rebuild (unexpected because it was freshly rebuilt when I bought the car). Of course you might argue that these things could well have failed anyway (and they do) but how many people have suffered a layshaft bearing failure on thier boxes! But I will hopefully be at Combe in July (car reliability allowing!) and happy to offer the passenger seat to anyone who wasn't terrified by CrazyDave's article on in the Sprinter last year :help: wow! thats a lot on tyres!!! yeah i'm on T1Rs most of the time... had some winter tyres on for a while now that i will change over soon.... I'll deffinately take you up on the passenger ride tho matie! ;)
