    Anybody got one knocking around?
  2. If you can put the car off the road for a while and take your time with it, then it's actually not that bad. I learned a lot about how everything fits together in the dash and I'll be confident doing anything similar in the future. I changed the heater controls, greased all the bowden cables, got all the bits of foam and crud out of the system and a few other jobs while I was there. All finally back together and working now! Also fitted the Forge 6-speed gear knob.
  3. Thanks for the info. I'm after some bigger ones than these believe it or not :-0
  4. ^ Ye I don't use the forum as much as I used to and forgot the rules :s It won't happen again!
  5. The heater controls you sent have a plastic tab that clips one of the bowden cables in place broken. Sorry, I will have to send these back for a refund.
  6. Sorry, I should have done this in the thread but PMed like a rule breaker! I will send the £65 for the heater controls via paypal.
  7. Ye I spotted this just after I posted, doh!
  8. I'm on the hunt for some working late heater controls please, with all the clips and tabs in good condition. Thanks
  9. Mine is all syncro stuff. As above- a huge amount of chopping is required to get the floorpan in. My fuel tank is in the boot!
  10. How much posted for the heater controls? Are all the dials/gears working?
  11. That's a damn tidy job! I'll be cracking on with this tomorrow :(
  12. Ye I ripped off the remains of it and will cover it with something. The gears on the box seemed to have jumped at some point as one of the levers was 'closed' as far as it could go but the flap was only half open. I managed to realign that. I do need to fix/replace the controls as the direction gear isn't working (the bottom arm) but at least I can do that when it's all back together. What a job!
  13. Fair enough- thought I was overlooking something. I'm sure I can invent something!
  14. This came in the post yesterday, looks good. Just one question- it attaches on with the allen screws ok, but how do you get the leather gaiter to attach to the underside of the knob itself?
  15. I'm sure the purists hate this but I think it looks awesome! I have seen other VWs with this done and was only wondering this morning if anyone had done it to a rado, weird. Saw a red 16v in Frankwell, Shrewsbury the other day

  17. The homemade VRT badge is brilliant! I might have to try something similar.
  18. Yes please I'll take it! Sorry I should have said- pending pics of the real one please, hopefully the mark isn't too bad?
  19. Followed a nice blue vr down the A5 near Shrewsbury on the way home from work on Tuesday. I was in the A3 and the guy looked pretty lost each time we got to a roundabout so I didn't want to distract him by waving! Looked lowered and had smoked rears.
  20. I'll be there, and can definitely bring the noise! :)
  21. I see your point but as the saying goes 'it's worth what someone will pay for it'. Ye, £160 for cracked fogs is mental... If the headlights are brand new then I guess they might fetch a bit. How much are they from dealers (or are they obselete)?
