I would have made an offer if I wasn't paying out for a quaife box at the moment :( Very unique plate and maybe just keep putting the feelers out with VRT owners if you aren't in a rush to sell?
-
It must be. Correct me if I'm wrong but unlike a crash damaged car, there can't be a single usable part on this?! Or it's a joke...

Ye, I did email him to let him know I had it and hewas glad it was still on the road. If we are talking bout the same guy that is? Jeff I think it was, one of the owners of Pipeworks with Ian, both ex Dubsport. That was the guy who built it anyway, you might mean Nick as I know he had all kinds of tasty stuff! -
There's loads of West mids rados popping up on the newbie's section at the moment, great to see. Welcome :)
-
Good idea, would be a bit different to an RR day, I'd be well up for that
-
How come you're getting rid? Funding to beast the rado I hope? :)
-
I got one a year or so ago from the dealers, surprised they are not doing them now.
-
Lets go to Awesome as they have 4wd rollers ;)

A Bailey Motorsport DV34 Dump Valve with pipe to fix onto FPR along with plastic T piece, blanking plate for the throttle body, and stainless and silicone boost pipe sections as shown. This came with my Forge front mounted intercooler, and these parts are obviously for a G60 with the boost return pipe removed and aftermarket silicone boost pipes. As far as I know there is no power gain from fitting this but it makes the throttle more on/off as the valve closes and opens, and makes a massive and anti-social noise as you come off the pedal! May fit 20VT or VRT applications but not sure. £50 for the lot

Ta-da! -
is my g60 suppose to be blowing air out of the throttle body??

Pros- charger runs noticeably cooler and the venting makes a cool noise. Cons- the oil from the TB isn't going back into the charger to lube it, so you should use PTFE spray directly into the charger every 2k miles. -
Ok, keep an eye on the 'Events' section of the forum

This is the Shropshire VW club- http://www.dubshire.proboards.com/index.cgi, quite active and monthly meets (sometimes 2 in the summer) Nothing Corrado based though- I was moving house and changing cars this summer so didn't have a chance to organise anything myself but will have a go soon. Something round Shrewsbury should be easily reachable for the West Mids and Mid Wales Corrados!
-
I'm in Shrewsbury and back round Kidderminster a fair bit. Not much Corrado action in the West Mids to be honest, but a fair few general VW clubs.

Ah ok, I remember seeing you sorting something on his thread. You would have had to set 'the pup' on him. -

Ha, and to think I typed him a nice reply to the message about his girlfriend... I should've joined in the abuse! Hope it gets resolved, I think my mate who owns my old G60 bought something off him and didn't have a problem, seems odd to ignore you over something like that. -

So it is the gearbox that's gone. Good news is I'm having a G60 Rallye box with LSD and this 6 speed Quaife kit in it: http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qke1v so it should handle more power in the future :) -
Yes, I reckon so- most problems are charger or tuning related

nothing we didn't really know about electric cars
jaded2882 replied to davidwort's topic in General Car Chat
I think the worst thing in terms of being 'un-green' is the production of the vehicles themselves. I did a bit of Env Management Systems 'life cycle analysis' of hybrid vehicles when I was at uni. That takes into account a lot of things the manufacturers won't mention- sourcing materials, the proccesses used to get these, how far the materials travel to get to the factory, how far the car is imported and so on. The amount of polluting that goes on to extract the stuff for the batteries etc. is massive. The conclusion was that it was far better to keep an old car on the road than make a new hybrid, even if the old car isn't that efficient on fuel. And that wasn't from Clarkson's biography or the Daily Mail, this was the conclusion of a whole load of academics devoted to being really green! -

Ye I think it will be an upgrade of some kind. It's going back to DG end of next week so I will see what Graham finds and assuming the box is dead then I'll take his advice on where to go with upgrading. ---------- Post added at 4:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 4:24 PM ---------- As far as I know it's a 4 mo box. Not that I'd know the difference but I'm pretty sure Graham said that the other day. And I've no idea why they didn't leave the 4 mo gears in!
