Heated seat switch question - should it be illuminated?
vr6-phil replied to Purple Tom's topic in Interior
Yes as JMC says, definitely should illuminate. I made mine blue just last night! Having issues with the correct colour in the headlight switch because of the green filter! Grrr! -
and it's in essex?!

I agree with the Citroen C3 and a Mk1 Nissan Micra...felt like I was turning the QE2 when pulling out of a parking space! (glad to say it wasn't my car)

I'm in Warwick. I don't seem to have any problems with my motor at the moment either! Maybe a starter issue is rearing it's head! :(

Solidworks' FEA - first section modelled
vr6-phil replied to boost monkey's topic in General Car Chat
Can't say I have heard of CosmosWorks so it must be something new since I used it. Good luck with the tinkering then! Post up some images when you have modelled the manifold (or whatever you create) as I would be interested in seeing it. -
Solidworks' FEA - first section modelled
vr6-phil replied to boost monkey's topic in General Car Chat
In my experience SolidWorks is a very nice and fairly straight forward programme to use. It has been a little while since using it and I didn't have to model car parts...I think the last thing I did was a shopping trolley wheel assembly...very interesting. Just keep creating layers and it's easy to plonk parts where you want them! I don't think SW was FEA software when I used it actually...has it developed since 2002? -
My little red rado from a few months ago...cosmetically it has changed a bit...I do need to take some up-to-date photos.

At only 121k I am not going to be threatening you!

What is your sound setup? Your door card looks quite full in one of your photos! I am jealous!

I work in Cov and live in Warwick but drive through Leam everyday so you never know!

So I was getting a little bit bored of the standard iPhone wallpapers and during a time of boredom thought I would have a go at creating some of my own with a Corrado/VW theme. I ended up with six 'variants' and was wondering if anyone else has found themselves in a moment of boredom or procrastination and come up with their own wallpapers specifically for the iPhone. With all of the fantastic Corrado photos out there someone should be able to create something worth having! Any problems with the images below, you can also see them at: http://mycorrado.info/wallpaper.html

You should be able to stream last nights episode from five's website (if you want to install a plugin!): http://demand.five.tv/Series.aspx?serie ... =FifthGear

@ BigTartanJudge & M15 VW I have tinted my rears and look a smiliar tint level to yours (see below). Do you not find that the light is blocked a little too much for the indicators and reverse lights? I have tried the LED bulbs without any luck. I am still hunting for a satisfactory solution! Any suggestions? (sorry for slight thread hi-jack!)
-
So it seems unless I sand back the tint a little I am not going to get the result I was after with these LED bulbs... Anyone interested in buying them from me? I have two orange ones (indicators) and two white ones (reversing, slightly different design to that pictured).
-
Like I said, I did get the ones shown here: They have multi-directional LEDs and light the indicator area evenly, just not very brightly and with not quite as much colour as the 'normal' bulb. Is it just me that doesn't seem to be getting on with these LED bulbs...probably my tinting is to blame when it comes down to it!
-
No issues at all with the flash timing, exactly the same as the standard bulb. Do you find the aceparts ones to be radically brighter than bulbs?
-
I bought the ones mentioned in this thread (page 3) from some chap on eBay, they do have a good few LEDs on them and are supposed to be ultra bright...I did forget to mention that my tints are black however...just realised my possible downfall!!! :brickwall: What does the resistor do exactly? (think I might be getting confused here) My bulbs seem to function fine, just not as bright as I would wish.
-
I went ahead and bought some of these orange 'LED bulbs' for my C as I recently tinted the indicators. Got them today and fitted one side to compare with the standard bulb...it didn't match the standard bulb at all. I admit that my tint is particularly heavy but the LED is less orange and noticeably darker...there goes my hope of MOT passable tints...I think...good job I have a spare set of lights to swap out just incase!!! Is everyone else finding these LED lights a good buy? I also bought a white set for the reverse lights and the same as above applies...gutted! :/

That's what I was wondering, thanks for the info. I'll probably get myself some mk2 ones. Got to figure out which rear lights I am going to get now to get the repeaters to match!!! The decisions never end!
-
Hello to you all! (this is my first post so please be kind!) I have recently acquired a vr6 and looking to subtly change a few parts, in the first batch of changes are the side repeaters. Looking around online, I see the Mk4 Golf repeaters look a little nicer than the Corrado/Golf Mk2 ones, does anyone know if the Mk4 repeaters would fit? Thanks in advance.
