Thanks Tim, i'm prepared to pay £15 for both delivered if they include the covers and bolts. I will leave the offer open if you want to consider it, i'm not pushing Regards Gareth

When you have the door open its the rectangular mech three quarters the way up the door, they are zinc plated held on by 2 allen headed bolts but should be covered by black plastic covers. Looking at mech bolts and cover for the complete unit. Easy to remove no parts from inside the door skin

Do you have both door lock mechanisms (not handles)

After doing a little research I have now identified a supplier Passion Restoration Products who can produce and supply quality period correct registration number plates, rear window stickers and tax disc holders. Many supplying main dealers are no longer trading or have changed name and those who have remained will undoubtedly have changed the design of these items. The idea is to provide period correct items but as fresh as the day they were fitted. I think these can add a nice finishing touch to a car. I'm keen to go ahead myself but thought i'd throw it out there for others to benefit from this service. Any interested parties just add your name and ideally the full details of the supplying dealer from your service history which should show the full dealer address which will feature on the tax disc holder. Also post any pics you have of surviving period dealer logos etc to create a library of dealers. I understand prices are currently in the region of £30 for registration plates £8 for tax disc holder £12 for dealer sticker for rear screen Please contact Chris at Passion Restoration Products to discuss your requirements

no not until they seize or play up, then its just a question of do you fit the same again or a trouble free upgrade

Mk4 calliper upgrade provides more reliable handbrake less prone to seizure

Radiator support bracket (not sure of exact name)r, often pretty rotten but I don't think they are structural

Awesome, thanks for that, nice pic:thumbleft:

Yeh, looking to be there tomorrow look forward to catching up.

OEM is manufacture, original spec and or options. Number plates are purely for registration requirement and are dealer fit. A name of a supplying dealer on a number plate isn't that important although some have a certain appeal, that said you can buy new plates with a custom graphic to say pretty much whatever you like.

Great to catch up today with Jay and the regulars. Shameless stolen pics from today

Productive day, oil and filter change together with new belt and tensioner followed by quick scrub. Hope the weather stays fine for a run out tomorrow. When changing out the tensioner found that a lightweight gruven parts uprated pulley had been fitted but the bearing was squeaking, so I could have simply used their quick swap system and fitted a new bearing. Oh well uprated pulley and tensioner for sale soon

Excellent news, is it all built up ready to go or will you have some more work to do? Look forward to seeing it, hope you are pleased with the results.

Lovely car and the attention to detail is a credit.

Hope so, quick job tomorrow then should be all set

Thats much better allround:thumbleft: Might have a go at my wheel. Do you know what finish EMU used on the wheel after colouring eg matt, satin etc

The Khaki valver looks and interesting car, just go through all necessary checks to satisfy yourself when buying, this issue with TCS is silly to a point, he hasn't owned the car for the last 18 years, it what happened during this time that matters.

what year was that?
