BBS RS 301 17” VW specific wheels. 17x7.5 ET 33 PCD 5x100 Manufactured in 1992 these late production 3 piece BBS RS alloy wheels were available in limited numbers to fit directly onto VW vehicles with the 5x100 PCD fitment. Unusually these wheels are in their original factory finish with lacquered dishes and with relatively little use are as close to NOS as you would ever hope to find. To find a better set in stock condition you would have to find a box fresh set that have yet to have tyres fitted. They come fitted with matching Dunlop Sport SP9000 205/40R17 tyres the wheels can be used and enjoyed. They come complete with stainless steel valves and the BBS centre bolt spanner, lattice, centre caps and black and silver BBS badges. The condition of the wheels and tyres is superb, there is however some minor lacquer corrosion notably around one valve and around the spoke edge on one small patch on another wheel but as these up to date pictures show these are incredibly honest wheels. This would be very straight forward to carry out a spot repair (wet and dry and re-lacquering) to restore the wheel to its original high standard or ready to split and polish. My other set of superb condition A1 RS 301 wheels as seen on my car OSV446 are sold and this set is the only other set in use with the original lacquer finish that I know of and until recently could be seen on the Blackberry VR6 belonging to ChrisL (pictured below) also pictured on my car. I previously owned these wheels and supplied them to Bill Aitken the previous owner of Chris' car and they are the very same set as seen in the PVW feature on my car. If you aren't lowering the car stick with the 205/45 tyres however I suspect either way the car will look a little underwhelming with bigger wheels lower profile tyres and standard ride height it invariably looks a little strange.. Standard ride height stick to standard factory wheels.
