I think i mean the orignal standard oil cooler which sits to the right of the oil filter, so £30 sounds good , i take it the mocal cooler is an upgraded item? cheers for reply, matt.

Hi, can anyone give me an idea on how much a new oil cooler would be for a corardo vr6, thanks, matt. :D

"I dunno.. one of these came past me the other night on the way home from Longleat - heard a car coming along side, heard a turbo spool up and he went like someone had just put a stick of dynamite in his car. I wouldn't have stood a chance." I must admit when i first saw the cosworth he looked like he was flying but dont all turbo cars 'feel' fast and whereas our old corrado vr6' s dont feel quite as neck jarring as turbos but you' ve only gotta look down at how fast the speedo is going past 70, 80,90. They just dont feel fast but they do go quite well, have more faith in your vr' s lads.

To be honest i know the road very well and was driving the living daylights out of my car, which i always feel guilty about afterwards

On my mothers grave he was giving everything he could and i even had to back off slighty but then crept up to his rear wheels just to let him know i could of had him. He was 2 up though and i was on my own. How much horsepower have these got then?, im guessing 200, 220 it was a G plate

Was driving home other night and about three cars ahead was a cossie which was obviosly in a bit of a hurry and i was gonna ignore it but i thought nah it' ll be interesting to see how the old vr6 goes against it. After finding myself behind him now and coming out of a 30 zone im in second waiting for him to go as he obviously cant wait, he guns it and so do i, 2nd gear dead even, 3rd im catchin ever so slighty, 4th hes deffo mine and could of comfortably passed him but ran out of road, pretty pleased with the corrado as you do forget how quick they can be and i bet the cossie was chipped too. :)

Sadly im thinkin, maybe of selling my much loved vr6 as have use of other vehicle, now can anyone give me any ideas on how much she's worth, 92 corrado vr6, Moonlight blue in colour with full vw service history, 137, 000 miles, very tidy cloth interior, totally standard apart from chrome vr6 front and rear badges, recent disks and pads all round, a couple of tiny door dings on drivers side, it hasn' t had timing chains done but engine has always been silky smooth and no noises. Only thing really lets the car down are wheels are in bad need of a refurb. I was thinkin of advertising her for £3,450 o.v.n.o any thoughts, much appreciated. :)

I can definatly get 70 in second in mine and 115 in third, does anybody else think thieir vr6 feels quiker than 17.7 secs to 100, mine always has. Also does anybody know what the 60-100 time for the vr6 is, i timed it once at about 8.5 secs with a stopwatch, (sad i know) which i know is prob innacurate, what does the fiat coupe 20vt do this in and has anyone ever raced one out of intrest, cheers

One of my mates dad had a mint vr6, still mint now and i remember coming home from a night out in it and the car was fully loaded, even had someone lying in the back across people and it still pulled like a train and from then on i sold my little clio 16v and bought the car i have today, i still remember driving it home and it being faster in 5th than my old car could ever be in third, beauty. :D

Yes have made sure the mixture is always spot as paranoid bout the head gasket, also when i completely flushed out the old coolant and put in new g12+ it did after quite a while turn brown again, but i will try that cold start thingy if not take it to vw and prepare myself for some bad i think, cheers for reply

Hello all, New on this forum but have owned my corrado vr6 now for over 3 years and love the car, but can anyone help me on following problem? The car has always had a slow coolant leak which improved when i changed the rad as was knackered and was turning coolant brown but just lately when starting the car from cold she tends to run quite rough like its misfiring for about 20 secs but this only happens now and again. Im hoping this could be an electrical problem like rotor cap or leads maybe? as car has always pulled really well and never felt like it might be losing compression. Also my coolant is still slighty brown which i hope is my knackered oil cooler contaminating the water, the car has now done 136, 000 miles and never gets driven hard from cold , any help would much appreciated thanks.
