Yeah, just a quick tester really. Super charger is sat on a shelf waiting to be fitted, its less than an hours job fit. Will be stuck on straight after the MOT. :D
-
Yep, they are the LPG injectors. Now relocated due to short runner. Just need to bolt a few things down and its MOT time.
-
New picture, can you guess what it is yet!

Are VRS's welcome, and I don't mean Skoda's VRS. Sounds a good day to me.

Looking at that I think I'd defo put the 24v in the C

really? How bad is the a3 then for economy? My brother has one, expect low 20's unless you drive like a grandma. And I think you really will struggle to fit a V1 in there. They feel quick due to the low down power but gained next to no ground on me in my VR when I was following him.

Think we've come to a solution to that problem then

Corrado 280mm discs are 22mm thick, golf 288mm discs are 25mm thick so It wouldn't surprise me if they did catch. The solution is to bend or remove the offending article.

Is it normal that the clutch goes "dead" when battery is off
VR6Joni replied to Mawrick's topic in Drivetrain
If you let the slave cylinder piston come out too much I'm fairly sure it lets air into the system, if you've just had the clutch done this is a strong possibility. You should try your best not to let this happen but I'll be the first to admit its easier said than done and I ended up with the same problem, I bled it and problem solved. So as said earlier bleed it again before splashing the cash. -
Don't DTA sell an interface? I'd be surprised if something isn't out there already that will do just the job you need to use your standalone for traction control, or does the race logic have much better control I.e. adjustable slip etc. On this subject, anyone know what the TC's like on the R32 management as it was brutal on my Astra G and I'm fairly sure that was Bosch management.

If it will program a 27C512 it should do the trick fine. These EPROM's don't take anything special to program so I can't imagine why even the cheapest programmer should not do the trick, however the software may not be as user friendly. I'd read up about them before forking out. The one I use is £400 and supports pretty much everything, however this is overkill and I wouldn't dream of paying that, I just borrow it from work. :D

Has he got some sort of preheating system then, I hope I can get 5% more power with LPG, really must rolling road it.
-
I've got it. What you can expect is next to no difference power wise. Probably none if the engine was mapped to suit LPG. You will only get about 85% of the MPG that you get in petrol so consider that, effectively if you pay 57p (how much I pay) per litre you may as well be paying 67p. Still allot cheaper than petrol. Much cleaner running engine, I.e. engine oil still looks fairly fresh at 5K oil changes. Account for a flash lube system too as LPG has no additives to keep engine parts lubed up nicely (not required but mine has it fitted and seems to have kept stem seals and guide in top notch condition). My engine actually runs cooler on LPG, not sure why, I guess as its a gas all the fuel burns quicker in the combustion cycle therefore giving reduced heat load time on the engine, also the gas reducer is piped into the coolant which will have a cooling effect as the liquid changes to a gas. Saved me a significant amount in the past. :D however I do have a VR6.

New Milltek system just fitted...does it 'settle down'?
VR6Joni replied to sprinterVR6's topic in Engine Bay
Has the resonated 1 got an extra box, mine is on about 8 weeks and its a bit noiser then i was hoping for ( must be non resonated ) wonder if you can add an extra box to the non resonated one to make it resonated  I'll let you know how many box's mine has tomorrow. -
New Milltek system just fitted...does it 'settle down'?
VR6Joni replied to sprinterVR6's topic in Engine Bay
I'd have to agree there, mine is very civilised up to about 4K and full throttle. Although I do have a BMC CDA fitted which is significantly noisier that most exhaust systems! But I do think the pair can be both easy on the ears driving steady and sound great at full tilt. Plus I must point out zero droning from mine. Did I once hear 2 different versions of Miltek were available? -
Get lead based solder if you can. Otherwise you should go for the highest silver content lead free solder that you can get hold of. Cheap lead free solder is a right pain in the ar$e to use and it eats through iron tips like they are going out of fashion.

I take it you didn't buy it as a kit then, just the seperate components. Let us know how it goes.
-
Golf 288mm disks??? What carrier are you using?
-
You fitted it yet? What parts did you buy? Part numbers and prices would be spot on if you could put them on here.

I'd like to see a Holset HE turbo tried :D For me they should produce quite a wide torque curve.

This might be of use. http://www.r32oc.com/tutorials-guides/6079-mk4-diy-convenience-3-click-indicator-loom.html

Could it not just be a new relay?

If stage 1 if 425Bhp WTF is Stage 2? What boost was that running at? You may want to turn it down for various reasons including staying alive

There's some mental local Corrado's cropping up alately, can't wait to see this one complete. Is end of the month R32'd and wavetrac'd? Job well done if it is :salute:

You're tempting me to do this myself now as I can borrow the gauges etc. from work. So my question is do you think that's wise considering I've never opened a gearbox before. My mate is a mechanic who would also be there and I'm not exactly shy with the spanners. :pale: Don't suppose you could tell me what other bearings you replaced as well. There doesn't appear to be that many from the pictures. And worst comes to worst my mates work mate has done a fair bit of gearbox work so could put it back together.
