  1. May I have a driver's side for my Corrado? What's the current price? Do you want a cheque or pay pal? Pm me with details. Many thanks Jem
  2. Make sure you get the right ones for your wheels: tapered or radiused.
  3. I have an R32 gearbox (Mk5, less than 8k on it) surplus to requirements, should you want one. Also have propshafts to link to rear diff.
  4. Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Those of us who have some knowledge pass on this for purely altruistic reasons. Corrado systems are like any other. Understanding how things function is usually the basis of repairing them.
  5. I'M DOING THIS IN CAPS AS THEY ARE LOUDER SO YOU CAN HEAR WITH YOUR TOWEL ON!¬ THIS NEEDS FIXING AS IT'S AN MOT FAILURE AND WILL ALLOW CRAP INTO YOUR CV JOINT WHICH IT WON'T LIKE! YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE DRIVE SHAFT. AT THE GEARBOX END VW USE SPLINED CAP HEAD BOLTS....YOU NEED THE CORRECT TOOL, HEX DRIVE WILL DAMAGE THESE AND MAY MAKE REMOVAL VERY DIFFICULT. LOOSEN THE DRIVE SHAFT TO HUB BOLT WITH THE WHEEL ON THE GROUND, THEN RAISE CAR UP AND UNDO DRIVE SHAFT TO GEARBOX. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET SHAFT OUT THEN, IF NOT SEPARATE THE HUB/UPRIGHT ASSEMBLY FROM THE WISHBONE TO GIVE MORE ROOM FOR MANOUVRE. AT END OF DRIVE SHAFT IS A CIRCLIP, REMOVE THIS AND DRIVE THE CV JOINT OFF (YOU WILL NEED SOME FORM OF SOFT FACED HAMMER). sLIDE OFF OLD GAITER, FIT NEW AND RE-ASSEMBLE. ALL THIS IS EXPLAINED IN HAYNES MANUALS (GOLF) TOGETHER WITH PICTURES. HOPE THIS HELPS.
  6. Any work on the hydraulics, brakes or clutch, will require some bleeding to purge all air out of the system or it won't work properly. Air is compressible, brake fluid is not.....that's the principle used.....therefor movement at one end (the pedal) results in equal movement at the other.
  7. Sand, oil......sounds like a recipe for disaster. Was this suggestion a joke?
  8. Ignore the above....have seen your post in the sale section!!!
  9. Swiftkid.....will you post up more details on the engine you have to sell. I am looking for an R32 and have cash waiting.
  10. Last week, I went to see Vince at Stealth to discuss putting an R32 in mine. Most helpful, he knows his way around Corrados and will advise you upon options.
  11. Get someone to move the gear lever across to the position where you would push it forward into 5th, check what this does on the gearbox. Adjust mechanism so it pushes slightly further. Don't go too far or you lose reverse!
  12. Was thinking about a new car to replace my Corrado, but nothing new excites me (except the Audi R8 but can't afford!). Decided that an R32 conversion and general upgrade of the Corrado is the way to go. Due to pressure of work and other long term projects, I just don't have time to do it myself. So, who do you guys recommend? Is Vince, refered to in posts, Stealth? Here's hoping to join the 'more power club'!
