Ok, it's getting a bit silly now.
raddo_tom sent me a message a few days after my post in this thread saying that my items hadn't been posted yet and his lazy house mate will get a kicking. Its been a few weeks since that now and i've still not received anything. I sent him another PM but no reply.
I don't think i'll ever receive anything.
Disappointed.

I'd give them a ring as they definately adjusted the fuelling on mine. It may just be the way the kr cams feel.
-
Ha!
For some reason it was at the top of my recent posts? Something to do with the new system i guess!

Ab's, that valver has been remapped by DG already. It should rev freely to the red line?
-
no probs mate, hope you get it sorted

Personally i'd sell the switch you have and just buy an early switch from a breaking ad rather than cut up the loom.

someone told me today the new ka and fiat 500 are the same underneath and both built in a polish factory???not sure if it is true, but the only VW engine family to start life in a VW (and so the only true VW engine) is the VR6!
beetle engines - porsche
polo 900cc-1.4 started life in an audi
the 1.5-2L 8v and then with 16v head, TDI etc started life as an audi 80 engine
5cyl from passat 1980's - audi again
1.8T - strictly 1.5 block based, audi again either way
3 cyl diesel - based on audi 4 pot again, probably A2 first anyway
mk4 onwards 1.6 engines - audi again
v6 tdi - audi
perhaps the only other VW one is the V5/W8/W12 - which is strictly VR6 family anyway

Never had the need for the secret cup holder.....one of the previous owners fitted this in mine which doesn't look too bad.Show off

With the passenger or drivers seat all the way back you can wedge a 5l oil can in there quite nicely without it sliding around.Top tip that a lot of folks dont know about although it is in the handbook, holding the key in the locking position will close the windows on all models and the sunroof on models with the later control modules. If you have a one touch up drivers window then you wont have the sunroof feature and vice versa.
Is there any way to have both the one touch window and full closure (inc sunroof)?
I have the one touch window and central locking with de-locked handles, The alarm does total closure but there is a red wire coming from the car that has no where to go.... A bit worried about just throwing a live current down it though!

I have one you can have for say £5 posted?
-
I have one, £10 + p&p. May even have a gasket, used but didn't leak which you can have for free with the rocker cover.

MK2 Jetta alloys right? I used to have them on my old mk2 golf.

Now sit in the car and try to close the doors  -
Got mine today. Top man, cheers buddy.
Nice VR btw, I'm glad you swapped it. I'm a valver fan and it means there's another one back in my area! :D
Here's hoping Abdul will turn it into a vr killer!

Oh dear god.... why would you do that???

Pretty sure it doesn't

The potentiometer will act in the same as the 2 switches. I had the earlier type with 2 switches before and the later type potentiometer now, it made no difference.
Just make sure that when you fix the potentiometer to the throttle body, it 'clicks' just as the butterflys open so the ecu knows exactly when you come 'off idle'
I think i may have a spare one you can have for a fiver?

I think there are some new genuine hall senders on ebay for around £30.
cant get the dizzy rotor arm off, also trying to sort starting issue

Had the same problem with mine, it had gotten so hot that the arm had melted onto its stalk. I eventually levered mine off but damaged the top plate of the dizzy (didn't affect it working) so be careful. You could always try breaking it off.
