If all goes well I should be re-joining the Corrado community next week. Was also thinking, I know there's been a couple Corrado Forum meets down south. Has anyone tried organizing a Scottish meet? Probably not the best time of year to have one though!

This thread alone made me see sense and decide not buy a Golf and get another Rad... Does that count as a chuftie?
-
The guy selling it is away on holiday to Turkey for two weeks,(I Phoned about it) He had it on Ebay on friday and it made £411 apparently sold!!!! The car used to belong to Corrado Addict on here,he sold it with the blown charger. I was waiting for him to come back with the full story :) Bah! Thought I'd have another chance at a cheap Rado to save  Ah well, got another rad in the area to track down, lying about somewhere with a blown head gasket and no-ones planning sorting it. A friend, of a friends, colleauge who was laid off... Should be interesting

Seen a Rad for sale up north with a blown charger. Just wanting to know if there's anything extra i'll have to look for when looking at the car. I'd be driving it back 140ish miles with the charger disconnected, would it cause me any major problems other than eating away at my fuel? Heres the link, pretty crappy ad but I'll find out more when I phone the boy, just want to know if its worth it. I def won't be paying the full 800 for it though! http://pistonheads.com/sales/1256349.htm

Yeah the coils were wound right down for those photo's and then I ran it like that till I sold it. Going for G60 next. Always wanted one. There's one for sale on here that needs a bit of work I'm wanting to go see when I've got the time.

Dark Blue L reg valver: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v111/keeve/vwsep6.jpg My Mate's now bought it off me and its still going about Inverness. If you see him give him a flash! Yeah, you will have no doubt seen it in Cap, I 'work' nightshift there. Dark blue VR you say, think I've spoken to you up at Tesco's before?
-
Yeah mate. I've got the beat up Green polo saloon that you'll have no doubt seen about at the moment. Currently looking for a new Rado. :D
-
Sold my Corrado, regretted it and straight away I'm searching for a G60 to replace it.
-
Was sure I replied to this thread? Ah well. I'm in Inverness with a Aqua blue Valver. Selling it on next month though. Only to buy a G60 when I can afford to!
-
Went out with my mate and took a few photo's of it today, was meaning to get better photos of it anyway! Just now I'm toying with the Idea of selling it though, costing me too much money on petrol and insurance and I've got a mate very interested in it. Don't worry though, If I do sell it she's made enough of an impression on me to get another Corrado... Next time though, G60 :luvlove:

Oil was changed, then buzzer kept going off, replaced the switch, fixed it for a couple days and then the buzzing returned.
-
Where is the buzzer located? I'm going remove it till I've got time to find out the cause!
-
Was originally 10w 40, but I've just checked what the VW parts gave me for my oil change... 15w40! FFS!
-
Cool, I'll take a look at the wiring once the ridiculous rain stops. Is it just a case of tracing the wires back to the clocks looking for any wrecked housing?
-
Been having problems with this when the oil's hot and revved past 2000rpm. After searching the site I had the Pressure checked which was all fine and just replaced the blue switch ontop of the oil filter. Worked fine after that until 2 days later. Was buzzing for about 2 seconds then would stop, gradually started buzzing longer till it stayed on constantly. What would the next step be to sort the problem? New clocks? Its a 9A engine.

Going to take out the shocks once I'm finished nightshift and take off the spring plate and see what happens. Hopefully it will cure it as i can't afford new top mounts at the moment!
-
Nah the metal disc doesn't come apart from the rubber. And both the current top mount and the old ones are the same? Will I just take out the Spring plate and see what its like, or will it still be the same? Things are never straightforward are they! :brickwall:

Had another look at what I've got with my top mounts. Thats the old parts there btw. But don't think I have this donut shaped piece. The way I have them just now is the coilover dampeners, then the bell shaped hat thing, then the top mount, held down with the notched ring, put onto the car, then the gold top then bolt. Heres a couple photo's of how they're sitting. First one is the one thats moving but I think the picture just makes it look like its sitting higher. What a nightmare this is turning out to be. :censored:

Nightmare, I'll have to take them apart then. Means all my swearing trying to get it off was for nothing! What do you mean by bearing also? I don't think i got any bearings with my top mounts.
-
Right, Knocking is coming from the top mount which has some play in it. Tried tightening it up but it is bottomed out. So I'm thinking I might not have the top mounts fitted correctly.. I followed this as a rough guide since mk2 suspension is the same as corrado, I say rough because a few things in the guide were a bit off: http://forum.performancevwmag.com/viewtopic.php?t=40697 I've taken apart the old suspension and put on the bit that looks like a bowlers hat. Did I need to put this bit on the coilovers since the top mounts have the metal ring at the bottom? Just to confirm I've built them correct, I've just taken the top nut off the coilover, Put on the top hat looking thing, then the top mount, Pushed down on it and screwed on the round nut with the slot in it right to the bottom. Put them up into the engine bay then fitted the gold ring and then the 21mm nut. Is this correct? Its the same on both sides but only one is knocking.
-
Coilovers fitted. Fronts need to go down a touch more though. Rears aren't sitting right, ones lower than the other! need to sort it once it drys up. Next up is sorting the exhaust.
-
Ah cool, cheers, will take 5 mins to flip over! Now I need to investigate whats knocking on the n/s front. :bad-words:
-
Right just fitted my coilovers but have a couple questions. When trying to take out the rear bolt that holds the shock to the axle it snapped. Anyone know what tensile the bolt needs to be? I've just got an 8.8 in the meantime, couldn't see what it was on the original, might have been 4. What way should the rear top mounts be facing? I've got both ribbed sides facing up, as they were on the car when i started, but on one side both of the curved washers were in one part together and in totally the wrong place, so i have a feeling someone's bodged it in its previous life! Should it be, Bigger top mount (Ribs up), Bigger curved washer like ^, car body, smaller mount (Ribs up), smaller washer again facing ^, then the big flat washer, then nut. Cheers.

Sorry about the "whats it worth" thread but I really don't have a clue. (and I don't know the name of the alloys to search! ) I've got a set of these wheels: http://www.intouchmassage.co.uk/Images/Corrado.jpg They've got 3 tyres with over 5mm tread, one bang on the limit and all 4 wheels desperately need refurbed as they're all flaking like mad! All 4 have centre caps. What should I be asking for them? Just the price of the Tyres or are the Alloys themselfs worth anything?
