  1. Had one on Friday at a job interview. On my CV it mentions in my hobbies being a car enthusiast and the interviewer asked what my last project was to which I replied with "A Corrado Vr6" "Ah yes, Volkswagen. Was it one of those V6 ones?" Had a wee chat about it too. Later on in the interview he mentioned the fact the job comes with a company car and added "So we won't be getting any complaints from clients about you showing up in your noisy V6 all the time!" :D
  2. Nice work! Looks pretty clean, hopefully see if kicking about Edinburgh!
  3. THIS! My insurance company took my G60 away from the recovery garage and by the time I told them where to go with their offer of £300 they had taken it to Surrey or somewhere! Then had the cheek to try and get ME to pay the charges to get it delivered back to me. :censored: Got it sorted in the end but cannot stress enough to not let your insurance company take your car until you have come to an agreement. Also sorry to hear about your accident, really hope its not a write off! Even if it is you'll probably be worth buying it back and breaking/repairing it.
  4. Cycled past this at some point last year/early this year in Aberdeen. Thought it was a nice example and was wondering what it was since there was a FMIC. Engine bay will look amazing once finished!
  5. Are you talking about the cat in your avatar? ....Sorry couldn't resist. As Far as I understand, Cat's had to be installed on cars as standard post 1992. A post 92 car can still be MOT'ed without a Cat but will need to pass emissions without. - I've only read this info, never tested it.
  6. Seen a Green VR6 stopped outside the church at the river in Inverness today. Spotted it miles away but couldn't see anyone in it from a distance so didn't want to look like a nonce flashing a parked car, seen someone in it on the phone as I was passing though, exchanged waves.
  7. Very gutted to see this mate, there aren't many nuggets kicking about now and its a shame to see another Corrado being written off due to another drivers carelessness!! Definitely go to the doctors, ask when you should return if the pain continues because my GP originally flogged me off with "Stretch it and take some painkillers and ibuprofen". When I was rear ended in my G60 I suffered neck and back pain from November to mid - Feburary. . When going to a chiropractor about reoccurring issues with my back in January he did some work on my neck also which really helped. A year on though and my neck is still causing me grief and I think it always will. My Personal injury claim is still ongoing. :s Hopefully your car can be repaired. Mine was a complete lost cause, such an impact it managed to bend the lip on my bbs... I was hit from direcly behind :(
  8. Easily the worst type of driver is the ones that don't pay attention or are easily distracted! Que the story of my G60 being written off by someone plowing into the back of me at 60 because me and 2 other cars had to stop on a long straight piece of road to allow a car to pull into a driveway. - Absolutely no reason to not stop unless she was chatting to someone, txting on her phone/using ipod/changing cd or simply SLEEPING. Seen so many drivers notice things last minute and slam on the anchors when they should have been noticed a lot earlier. Just yesterday some lassie in a BMW went to pull out infront of me on a roundabout when I was already on the roundabout and clearly visible by her! Hate when people try and cut into a queue of traffic on a dual carridgeway too. I know its a dickish thing to do back but if someone indicates to pull in infront of me I'll close the gap, making them take the much longer route. Also, since when it rains does everyone sit at 40 in 60's? The thing that winds me up to no end though is drivers on the A96 (Inverness to Aberdeen, actually where my G60 was written off!). Either overtaking at ridiculous places putting everyone else in danger, driving at 40 on a road where there's not many safe overtaking opportunities and a lot of people on that road are doing an 80+ mile Journey. The one that really takes the cake and makes my blood boil though is when an overtaking lane finally comes up, then someone just sits in the overtaking lane with nothing in the left lane when I Clearly want to get past them! In my opinion the people that cause the majority of RTA's are people that don't have any confidence in their driving, easily distracted or just plain stupid!
  9. Would this not be the MAF thats causing this if its dying when ticking over then dying but when giving it some throttle its running?
  10. The picture that keeps me coming back to Corrado ownership! :thumb right: Kind of want this car back. Going from VR6 to Valver wouldn't even bother me I loved this car so much!
  11. Someone on here found an ebay seller with all 6 for only £14. Was next day delivery and everything, was very impressed.
  12. Been wanting to do this for a while, going to start hunting down some Beetle steels for winter then possibly get them banded. You're brave banding them that big though! I'd only be doing 7.5 and 9! haha.
  13. So yeah after my initial greet about it i went at the plastic on the terminal with some scissors and a flat head screwdriver and managed to get one of my old leads onto it fine (came off too) and car is running sweet. Shame about these plastic bits this company are putting on them! Will be going to GSF for a beru once I get my refund.
  14. Will ripped rubber on the end of leads effect running at all? Should be able to get these leads off but if they're wrecked from it I want them to cover the costs!
  15. Wish you seen this thread earlier! I bought one after checking the website and emailing the seller, both reassuring they are high quality... Got it today (Only ordered it yesterday at 2:30 so fair play on that front!) threw it all on, going well, until trying to put on the last HT lead... Wouldn't clip on. Came in for some dinner and back out to it it looked like there was a bit of dirt or something stuck stopping the lead go over it. Tried prying it out with a small allen key, get a wee bit out then have another look inside. The terminals were coated in plastic! No chance that the plug will go over the terminal. Go to take off the coil pack to see if there's any way to sort it.... THE OTHER LEADS ARE STUCK! Actually so raging. They must be stuck on this plastic coating thats put on them! Managed to get 2 off with a pair of pliers but have ripped one of the rubber boots on my brand new leads and jerked my injured elbow in the process. :censored: Have contacted the ebay seller who is being fair and wanting me to return the coilpack, if I can't get the leads on just to leave them and QX will re-imburse me for them.
  16. Never thought about painting the Roof strips. Really subtle and looks great!
  17. Yeah I just got someone to order one in for me from the GSF Equivelant up here. hHpefully will be all good. Will see when it comes.
  18. Cylinder 2 Is firing just really tempremental. When pulling the plug on it the engine noise just changes slightly, when i pull it on all the other cylinders the revs drop right down then pick back up completely different. Noticed after taking it for a drive (After thinking i fixed it with new leads) once it was heated up removing plug 2 did nothing to the engine noise. New HT Leads and plugs so was just going to get a coilpack and hope its that. Also, Does anyone with the cheaper GSF one know if its the one in the ebay link?
  19. Seen this on ebay. Rebuilt by a company called QX Components in Manchester. Wondering if anyone's had any experience with these coil packs before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-CORRADO-2 ... 4152a10881
  20. Departed is one of my favouite films without a doubt. Watched John Q yesterday. 8/10 Really good film. Very few things I could fault in it. Wouldn't want to live in America without healthcare for sure.
  21. Ah just found out my coilpack is just the standard VW one. Probably been on it for quite some time. Don't have a GSF up here so will have to search for one on the net somewhere. GSF are showing as over 100 for them now. Might chance my luck with a 2nd hand one.
  22. Narrowed my issue with poor running down to one cylinder playing up. Went back to removing HT leads when the car was running and Cylinder 2 wasn't firing yet it was before when I previously did this check... :brickwall: Can't really afford to buy a new coilpack just now especially after buying maf, lambda, plugs and leads with an MOT round the corner so was wondering if theres any sure fire way to find out if it is the coilpack or if theres any way to repair it? I'm thinking if I swap lead 2 with the one directly below it I'll be able to see if its just that one part of the coilpack not sparking? I have had the coilpack out before and gave it a good spray with wd40 and when revving it in the dark i couldn't see any Arching so I'm hoping its something I can repair like a broken/loose wire. Also I've noticed alot of other coilpacks look different to mine and i'm not sure how to open mine up. Its a bosch one. Cheers.
  23. Just driving the car about after resetting the ECU and seen a guy in a works van give me a double thumbs up. :D
  24. Ah cool. Cleaned the ISV anyway and it doesn't seem to be leaking once I've put it back together, must have just been a bad connection. Pretty certain the problems down to HT leads again. On Cylinder 2 taking off the lead does make a different in note, but it takes away the chuffing noise from the idle... Resistance was fine when I measured it but noticed a slight tear in the lead where it clips into the plastic runners... Think i've found the problem!
  25. One of the 4 wires on the loom side of the Lambda Connection has been cut? Ran the car without the lambda also and was exactly the same. Going to get The garage to fix the connection, too short on one side for me to re-crimp it and given up trying to sort this problem myself. About to clean out the ISV but noticed a bit of an air leak here. What is this part and how would I go about sealing it?
