I tried the Bp stuff for a week and dont think it's as good as the optimax which i use all the time. I might be imagining it but the car felt far less responsive on the bp stuff. So ive put mine back on a strict diet of optimax!

why is it always vr's or g60's what about the rest
GRINGOG60 replied to aposegil's topic in General Car Chat
Alex, Ive seen your car and can say your valver will be awesome once it is done mate. Will be just as good as any G60 or VR6. just avoid any more meeting with Fox's and Merc though! -
Coilover suspension is very exspensive though- you can lower the car by the same amont using standard shocks and a good quality set of lowering springs- id go for FK or Eibach which would be far sheaper with the required effect of lower appearance and much better handling. But if youve got the money i suppose go for coil over but be prepared to spend at least £500 + fitting. If the shocks on your motor are ok your looking at about £130 + fitting going for the lowering springs.

Hi, Both are very good cars mate - i think your girl freind will probably sway to the MR2 as the Corrado is more of an aquired taste looks wise But who knows she may have Vdubs in her blood but my girl freind prefers the MR2 to my Rado. Ive driven both MR2 turbo and non turbo pre and post 94 cars as ive started to import them with a freind (only on the side at the moment )- the 94 cars are fare better setup as the handling of the pre 94 is almost quite scary- they give you no idea of when the back is going to step out :? and be sure to be wearing your rubber pants when they do so, they all sofeel very light at high speeds ( not that you lot would ever drive a car above the speed limit  ) make sure if she is after an MR2 get the late spec car. If any of you guys are after more info on the MR2 let me know or if you are looking to source these cars drop me a pm as i am cuyrrently sourcing them direct from Japan. i have two toyota mechanics working for me out there inspecting the cars for me. And every car that comes through is of the highest spec grade 4 and comes complete with warranty and full preperation I currently have 1 in stock at the moment and 4 others on their way all are turbo's though.

How fast have you had out of your standard VR?
GRINGOG60 replied to VRev6's topic in General Car Chat
I got 148 mph (not on a private road  ) on the way to birmingham in my old 2.8 VR6 Golf took ages to get there though, with just a K&n AN full scorpion exhaust. on attempting it before though i got to 130mph and someone pulled out on me - lucky i was wearing my rubber pants- the ABS saved me preety much and i left skid marks that must of been at least 100 metret long- wont be that silly ever again- nearly killed my self and someone else  -
Adam - you have the same surname as me!

Do you have an imobiliser fitted to the car??? If so it sounds like this is nachored as causing the power to cut off. The Alternator wont have anything to do with it and it doesnt sound like an ECU problem...

He was very lucky that he wasnt going quickly. You should regulary check both flexxi hoses on the back and front and check and check they dont bulge when the peddle is applied or they have started to crack and also check the resovoir bottle fluid level. check the solid break lines that go from the front to the back of the car for leaks as well and look at the master cylinder for break fluid leaks... obvious stuff really. You have to ask though had he upset his girl freind before getiing in his car? No seriously He was also very lucky that no one walked out in front of him.

Front engine hose there are two senders on the top- you need to replace the blue one to sort the water temp sensor on the dash.... Is this what you meant? James

Could be a wire from the stereo or one of the surrounding switces that has got caught in the mechanism preventing it from turning all the way round- try pulling the stereo out and checking to see if anything is caught- this happened on my car and it was a caugh speaker wire from the stereo. James

You have three starting lights the first one stays on for a couple of seconds, preety much straight away after it changes from the first set to the second to the he third one comes on and it GO- Nail it ! The G60 isnt all bad on the quarter mile- i managed 14.9 second on my second attempt - with a 0.4 reaction time which was better than alot of cars in the same sort of league and above- i beat to stock scoobies and a 20 valve turbo Mk3 that had been Mag featured and my mates blck FTO. My grin lasted for about two weeks after- my Avatar picture is of my motor up at Satapod with the filter poking out. :D
