Ive got the above electric seats in grey that were the factory option on my G60. How much do you guys think there worth?- there n mint condition with no bolster wear or rips and have the "Recaro" Stitching in Blue I'd like to sell/swp them for black leather ones.... ANy ideas guys?
-
Apart from thr foam backing i think there preety well made- ive had my ones for quite a while now and there is no sign of any wear- the foa backing only disintergrates if the mats arnt properly secured using the carpet hooks and are aloud to move around. I think there preety good but it is obviusly possible to get better quality ones.

GRINGOG60 replied to GRINGOG60's topic in General Car Chat
I posted on there yesterday when someone said that all BBS split rims were "sh*te and horrible" and suggested that it was may be a little silly to slate a particular brand (other than Tsw as they are crap!) or style or wheel as it was surley down to personal taste. One of their memebers then instructed me to to go and do indescent things to a donkey!!??? Not sure how that works! I was going to ask him who had spat in his testube but didnt really want to stoop his level.... -
Does any of you guys have a problem with your windows rattling half way down when going over small bumps- mine do and it's really annoying- have looked at the weather strip (window scraper thingy) and it doesnt even meet the glass theres quite a big gap all the way along- Is this the problem? is this a common problem?? Please help this rattling is driving me insane!

Some of it is hilarious- they have one one guy asking whats the best way to do an oil change on a 16valve Golf  (didnt realise there was more than one way  ) And another dood asking how long his leaking head gasket will last  (didnt realise God supported that forum!!) They also have another chap saying that all BBS split are sh*te! Interesting people!- Go have a look you wont be dissapointed - i think some of them are a few cans short of a six pack!

Anyone know where the thermostat is on the G60- is it on the front of the block where the two o-ring sensors goin in to a black plastic housing at the top near the cylinder head ?- ive just replaced the main bearing shells in my pit in my garage last sunday and i really dont want the the lump getting to hot knackering the new shells.
-
Chaps, When i go on long drives sometimes i have niticed that when i turn the heater on it starts off hot and then goes cold- this has only started happening since the weather turned sh**ty - anyone had this before? could be the thermostat having stuck closed? it never does it on short journeys though but when the engine goes above about 106C it starts happening... i had this same problem on a 16 valve Mk2 Golf GTI that i had once but i never fixed it and just sold the car (to a mate ha ha  ) An of you guys got any ideas? + has anyone got the part number for the lower temp fan switch(180 degrees)????

Pete- what is all this ’ business??? Youve got me very confused! -
Ive got a Jabba sport induction kit- it's sound the nuts and throtte response is much better than when it had a drilled air box- the heat shild does work as it goes right up to the bonnet- it obviously doesnt stop all the hot air from coming in but it stops alot of it as when your on the go the air around the filter is is coulder as it is concentrated in one area. The filtering is very good on them despite what some people say as i have seen them being tested, however the foam filters arnt good at filtering and definatley wouldnt recommend one . Its also down to persoanl taste though as they are very noisy. ive seen people on the pavement wearing head phones turn arround as i drive past them  + my sheila freind can hear me coming from about half a mile away! :D

front speakers sounds to tiny even with new components
GRINGOG60 replied to brian g60 corrado's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
The head uni you have is more than good enough to run the fronts mate. I have a £350 sony head unit that runs some infinty Kappa speakers and they sound the nuts.... -
My mate has one and this thing is ridiculously quick- it acclerates in 4th and 5th like a corrado does in first- there 4.6 sec to 60 and beleive me it feel like you been hit up the A-hole by a train when this thing accelerates. Ive had my G60 Dyno'd at 211bhp and my matees EVO leaves me like im standing with the engine switched off- he could proably spin it around and reverse past me!
-
Ok that's not really what i wanted to hear but least i know now- nothing is ever simple with these cars is it! :( Do you reckon i should just get my mate to leave the window in and mask roud it???
-
Hi, Having my rear bumper sprayed (some idiot backed into me) and my rear quarter painted (road rage incident-someone rammed me) and my mate is spraying the car as he works in a body shop and is doing it ridiculously cheap :D ....am just wondering how easy it is to get the rear quarte window out? Do i need a special tool?

Dont jack on the sump mate as it will just squash it and you really dont want that  You need to jack it near the engine mount at the front- cant remember where i did it exactly but if you get your nugget under the front of the car you will be able to see where the sump bolts on there is a lip round the front of the sump that you can put the jack on and just gently jack it up a bit. If you want i'll take a quick look at my motor to night and better explain it tommorow. It's dead easy though- dont jack on the oil filter as that will split and make a horrible mess of your drive  j

It is fairly easy to do- one bolt on top- i think a 13mm nut and one on the bottom. put a jack under the front part of the engine not the sump and loosen the bolts on the engine mount. You will need to jack the front of the engine slightly- tiltiing it backward a bit so that the mount bolt can be pulled out of the front engine mount on the block. i had to take of the radiator mounts and gently push the rad out of the way so to give enough room to move the olds mount and pull it out. then just put the new one in place, tighten the bottom bolt and release the jack so it sits on the mount bolt. Its sound preety difficult but it's not- should take no longer that about half an hour. Hope this helps...

There is a tab at the base at the back of the hand break- push that in with a small srewdriver and pull the handbreak cover off- mine was quite stubben - but i eventually "persuaded" it.
