My clutch flexi is weeping slightly, so I need a new one. I think they are unaffordable at the dealers, heard they are 50 odd quid!!! So if anyone has one, or knows where I can get one for considerably less than dealer price, let me know. Cheers.

My mate is selling his Jag again, it's listed as £6,800 buy now but obviously all offers will be considered. here's the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140560815204&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_1920wt_1139

well i had a look today, it seems that the alarm is sending pulses to the electric window module, because it keeps clicking when i turn the ignition off. I'll see if the alarm instructions are tucked away somewhere but failing that I reckon i'll try to trace the electric window wires and disconnect the alarm wires where they join. Hopefully that sorts it. thanks for the ideas!

because i often sit in the car, in the sun with the windows down and the sunroof open. It's nice... :) not any more :( but yeah, i was also thinking it would be something to do with the alarm or immobilizer, so i'll see if the manual for them still exists. If not it may have to go to an alarm specialist. Unless anyone knows of another solution?

My electric windows in my 89 16v have started to close when i turn off the ignition. before, i could open and close my windows whenever i wanted, with the ignition on or off, as long as the immobiliser was deactivated. but now when i turn my ignition off the windows automatically close and i can't open them without the ignition on. i have had the battery out for an extended period of time if this makes any difference, maybe reset something etc. does anyone know how i can get it back to normal?

aha, if you look carefully you'll see it's a ~ not a -, which means approximately.

My corrado developed this problem fairly recently. It's an 89' 1.8 16v. The alternator doesn't charge until you rev the engine over 4000 RPM, just once, then it's fine the whole time it's running. when i measured the voltage, i get ~12v when the engine is off, ~9.5 when the engine is running but not revved, ~14.4v after it is revved. since the problem started, i have done the following; replaced the alternator with a recon 90A one. tried 3 different voltage regulators (the one that came with the new alt, the old one and another brand new one i had). made sure the belt is tightened correctly. cleaned all the wiring connectors for the alternator and all the earth points. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I'm going to be changing a subframe, at the road side with the engine sitting on axle stands, i think this might be the 2nd worst job i'll do. But the worst doesn't count coz that was on a mk2 golf.

on further research i discovered that the white sensor should be at the back, as you said. and activates the light when the pressure gets below a certain level. the black/blue/brown one is at the front and activates the buzzer when the pressure is below a certain level when the revs are above 2k. apparently quite a common problem which is rarely the result of actual pressure drop. More electrical problems/bad connections. Sometimes triggered by different viscosity oils (like in my case, as it happened right after an oil change). the internet is a wonderful place....
-
ok, i'll swap them around. thanks pal!
-
well I'm not entirely sure about that, at the moment, the blue is on the black sensor at the back, and the yellow is on the white at the front. and a blue wire with a yellow stripe is cable tied out of the way, unused. I'll trace the wires back to check for damage.
-
the connection is a bit loose, i'll try putting a kink in the terminal. this was right after i installed new sensors btw.
-
well, like that, but when the engine is running. :confused4:
-
I know that when the oil pressure light flashes and the buzzer sounds, the oil pressure is too low. what does it mean when the light flashes, but with no buzzer?

I haven't really been updating this. poor effort by me. Anyways, here's the latest addition to my tornado valver. ATS cups! 15x7 et20 - clearance issues on the arches, i'll get it sorted eventually... 8)

my Girlfriend made me a mk2 golf cake for my 21st. Monza blue and everything ;) no pics of the cake, do have some of the golf though :)

talking of admin errors. I phoned up my insurance company a few years ago when i had my mk2 golf to see how much it would be to change the policy over to my corrado. They must have changed the car details without changing the reg no to get a quote because since that time when ever i put my golfs reg into the dvla thing it came up as a corrado  maybe a bit off topic, but just shows that it can happen quite easily.

yeah i made that mistake b4, managed to punt them on n got my money back. PHEW. Thanks!

I have a 1.8 16v and i'm planning on putting 280mm brakes on it. The brakes i got are from a mk3 golf GTI 5 stud, so obviously i will need G60 discs. But are the carriers a straight fit too?

i'm not too sure about how to get that bit off chief. I think your best bet would be to take the whole sunroof out and have a closer look. When the headlining is off the sunroof is really easy to remove, just a load of gold coloured screws holding the black frame to the roof then the whole thing drops out. Simples, will make it much easier to inspect etc.

good work man, where did u get the new part? and how much for? that's what went on my old one but i just replaced the whole unit.
-
has the panel been pushed up? try adjusting it at the torx screws.
