I'll just have to use the country roads now then :D and a sat nav with camera positions. What spectrum frequency do these use do you reckon? infra red? they cant use visible light as the headlights would over power them.

I am looking for a really quality sound for my corrado, a full range, kind of as the producer heard rather than big bass etc. while keeping the car looking unmodified I was thinking of an Alpine 9887r headunit with the Infinity Kappa range 13cm speakers for the door, 10cm speakers in the dashboard to replace Tweeter? if thats what they are and, as a previous owner has cut the parcel shelf, Kappa 6x9s in there. Not knowing too much about setting an ICE system, does that sound about right? has the 9887r been updated as it seems that someplaces no longer stock it. Thanks in advance for any advice given

Hello Frankie, Im sorry I didnt get back to you sooner I havent been on thhis site for ages. I promised Adam some photos of the Corrado but I never seem to use the 35mm camera any more. I will just email you pictures. The Storm is a very cherished little car and is still very much in use. The repairs are spot on and it does get the comments it deserves. I dont know which garage you went to but the biggest problem I had was that who ever put the front wheels back on must have use the air gun at full torque. We had massive problems getting the normal bolts of whch made it extremely differcult getting the security bolts off. Really good to hear from you

OOOOOh right, I see and there I was thinking I had a simple solution. How about scouting tescos for an unsuspecting Corrado owner? :| -

Can't you just go to Halfords or whichever stockist and try it, even if you buy it and take back as unsuitable? -

Are this still available, if so, can you put me down for one? -
Brilliant, thanks for the ARZ-tuning pointer. We contacted the VW main agents with the part number and suddenly they stocked that part, so it is now on order. Will let you know how it works out if anyone is interested.

Is there a repair kit for the sunroof runners? I have attached an picture of the mechanism, although it does look more like one of those images from the sky. I'm not the one who is working on it but I am told that the plastic runner parts are worn which is making the sunroof move out of line and then jam up. The person working on it did phone VW main agent and they were saying they dont supply ant repair kits at all for a car of this age since about a year ago. Thanks in advance

My 94 VR6 Corrado is going for, pretty much, a full rebuild of the engine, gearbox, other bits related to those, repairs to sunroof, heater bits etc. Can someone tell me whether there is a manual which will list how to do all these and the bolt torque settings etc so I can give this to the garage to make sure it is all done correctly. Is there a VW mechanics version or did Haynes do one? Thanks for any help

Did anyone try these injectors? And why would I use 440cc rather than 240cc. Will they be less fuel efficient / significantly more powerful?
-
Has anyone mentioned that ex lease cars are going for sweet pennies at car auctions at the moment as dealers dont particularly want to hold on to them to depreciate on their forecourts. Might worth having a few cars in mind and going to one of the prestige sales.

I have just bought the wipers & blades from my local Audi dealership and was quoted £111 but when I collected and told the guy it was for a corrado (when asked why i needed two, turns out he used to have one) he gave a customer loyalty discount which brought them down to £94. I dont know if that helps with the £83 if that doesnt include postage.

Thank you for that although I did have to go to Wikipedia to understand closed cell and open cell :dorky:

What is a reasonable mileage to change a VR6's injectors. The car isnt doing too bad but at 150k it has squirted quite a lot of fuel and that must either wear them out or cause a build up of something, or does neither of those particularly happen with the fuel additives :? Also where is a recommended place to get some from.

I've used expanding foam once, not on the car thank god, but the house, I'll never touch the stuff again, took me a week to get the stuff off me  Thats the stuff which you spray on and it expands, yep? Hmmmm I would probably end up expander-foaming my windows shut, but it is certainly worth considering. What have other people used? have people soundproofed the roofing or is it mainly the doors and whatever the rear passengers equivalent of doors is called. This has just become a bit academic now as I am currently removing bits of mondeo out the back of my car after it shunted me hard on the M25 and wrote my car off, but I plan to get it back off the insurance and back on the road, so would still be grateful for the advice.

A bit of advice please on soundproofing my car. I want to upgrade my stereo and speakers and have been told that I need to add soundproofing. But I bought the corrado for its drivablility and dont want to keep adding weight. What do people suggest would be a good compromise or where would be the best places in the car to start (ie doors), working back to "could be done but much less of an impact" Thanks in advance

I was having fun with my fan this weekend as it was blowing rather poorly. It comes out really easily, http://wiki.the-corrado.net/fan_speed_t ... epair.html I then cleaned up the motor and lubricated but, to help you, I checked it by disconnecting the circuit board and put it across the battery just to see how worn it was or whether it was another problem. This would at least let you know whether the motor is working. Obviously be careful doing it, or get someone else to hold it. (hurts less that way)

On my VR6 the drivers and passenger seat has a lever which allows you to move it back and forward as normal but another more obvious lever allows the seat to be pushed up and down to adjust the height but because it is designed to push up when someone is seated on it, it flys up when empty
-
So has anyone else tw@ed themselves around the head by leaning into their corrado to put the drivers seat forward and pulled the wrong lever? REALLY not nearly as funny as when girlfriend put her head into windscreen trying to move seat forward and doing the same.

Actually, they look better on then I thought they would, makes the car look a lot more up to date.

I saw these on ebay and thought they looked cool but as they were from America I emailed them to find out about them being used on RHD cars. This was their response. "there are a few ways. you can just put beam deflectors on, very simple, but not so pretty. you can adjust the beam on the back horizontally and vertically. Ok for driving, but mot doesnt like the kick on it. the last way is to open up the lamp and rotate the projector 180 degrees, this is good for roads and MOT" Thought it might help :D Actually there are some really cool clear fogs and indicator lights on ebay which would match the headlights. (Erm, if you go this route can I have your old indicators  )

yeah did and its more of a pain in the bum to get in and out of then the Corrado

Would anyone hazard a guess at what the spoiler does to the drag co-efficient if it really isnt doing much to the performance. I think the Corrado is rated at 0.32 (not sure if that is with the spoiler up or down) but I was really surprised how little it takes to put this up or down when I was looking at the design of a lotus elite, a small scoop spoiler on the front reduced the lotus from 0.32 to 0.29. Does anyone know of similar tricks or mods to do to a Corrado to reduce the drag co-efficient.
