Bristol Volksfest - Convoy details on p5
CazzaVR replied to CazzaVR's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
OK mate :) -
I'd be happy to drive half way to swap over if the other deal falls through- I'm in Gloucestershire.
-
I agree- I wouldn't swap an 8v for a 16v... I'd only swap one for a VR or a G60.

Alex, so far all of us are camping- so will go Friday night (although you can just do the Saturday night if you want). This gives the option of doing Friday night + Saturday & Sunday :) If you don't want to camp, you can take your pick of the days :) -

Friday 10th and/or Saturday 11th. We'll have the pitch for both days. You should be fine mate :) ps- you need to change your sig! -
Hey up, This was a really good event last year. The new venue was great! We had a really good Corrado turnout... so, who's up for it this year? Open to all CCGB club members (as we are booking as a club etc). Quite a few people expressed an interest in camping last year- camping= £25 for 1-2 nights. So, you can camp on Friday and Saturday, or just one of the days. Non-camping: Saturday only= £10 Sunday only= £10. Check out http://www.bristolvolksfest.co.uk We'll get all the numbers together, then sort out payment. 1. CazzaVR (camping) CONFIRMED 2. Vornwend (camping) CONFIRMED 3. GlosterOx (camping) CONFIRMED 4. Robert Steel (camping) CONFIRMED 5. Swompy (camping) CONFIRMED 6. CrazyDave (camping) CONFIRMED 7. Onestep (camping?) CONFIRMED 8. DaveStorm (camping) CONFIRMED 9. captainredeye (camping) CONFIRMED 10. Tempest (camping) CONFIRMED

Check that all the ISV pipework is clear, as the sponge from the damper box can fall apart and get sucked into the pipes. This would stall the car. Also inspect closely for splits in the pipework.

Haha thanks mate, I never had too much trouble keeping up in the valver Only when you were behind Ian...

Lovely VR, Jake! Looking forward to having a proper gander sometime 8)

The 1.8 16v is the cheapest to insure- typically group 15. The 2.0 8v, 16v & G60 are typically group 17, the VR6 group 18. VR6 Storm is usually 19. However, a lot of insurance companies seem to use the new system (up to 50)- can't seem to find where the Corrado fits into this, but would think it would be mid-thirties (same as R32 etc).

Hey mate, why don't you just keep the same thread? Saw the new VR briefly last night- looks like a good 'un! Nice interior & colour. Looking forward to seeing it properly (in daylight!) 8) -
After a price for the VR6 hose that connects the underside of the expansion tank to the side of the head etc. Think it's part number 535121063A.

Friend of a friend has a Nissan GTR Black Edition... I've been promised a drive :norty:

Do it, Jon- no brainer at that price :)

Darren, yeh, done a fair amount already! Always something else to do though... I'll take you up on that one, Jon 8) Does sound like a good idea- maybe half term week would be a goer... really appreciate the help :)

A little update! Managed to raise enough cash to buy a VT front mount (C&R have by far the best price ;) ). So swapped that in for the solid mount. Met up with Jon & Andy (boostmonkey & ProdigalSon) yesterday- they kindly offered to help with a few bits + it was a good chance to catch up :) The plan for the day was to start by fitting new rear discs, pads, bearings + handbrake cables. Later on- front top mounts. I arrived before 10am... and left at around 8pm! 3 out of the 4 stupid allen bolts (terrible design by VW  ) rounded off & the metal plate on the wind-back tool was buckled, stopping it working altogether. We managed to get around these probs and got everything fitted properly in the end, but didn't have time to get the top mounts done :( Just goes to show that a relatively straightforward job can turn into a nightmare and take a whole day instead of just a couple of hours!

Karate Kid (the remake)- pleasantly surprised- defo better than the original, although the original will always have the nostalgia factor. There's even a Rocco in it too 8)

Thanks for picking the stuff up yesterday matey- sorry you were 'hurried' out of the carpark by that old bint  :)
