I'm totally jealous! Sounds brilliant, and good value too. Nice one mate. The Scoob is such good value. Before I bought the vRS, I shopped around, and managed to find brand new WRX for around £15k. Just not big enough though, and just out of reach financially. The sportswagon was well over £16k. When you think how much all the hot hatches cost, that price is astonishing. Cupras, Type-Rs, GTIs are all more costly. I know what I'd rather have! One day maybe! Oh yeh, that sound! There's one around the corner and it sounds gorgeous.

Good idea, Bill. Postal vote should be pretty straight forward. ps- get some pics up in the Gallery so we can all drool over that engine bay! 8)

M4 this afternoon, at around 4.30, spotted an L-reg (blue-ish) going east just past Swindon. -
John, Totally agree with you, mate. Was just posting that to show that a thriving club + forum is achievable, but at what cost to the organisers, I'm not totally sure. And yes, Woburn was fantastic 8)

Have a look here http://www.hondarevolutions.com/ for a very well run club + internet forum.

Saw a TT on the M25 a while back with the reg: GAY 20! Hmmm, £15K... I'd be going for an Evo, Scoob or an Mmmm Coupe 8)

Black, pre face-lift G60(?) coming out of Shepherds Leaze near the British School inWotton-under-Edge just before 8 this morning. Had after-market alloys. -
biggrim, ta  Matronic, thanks! New I'd seen him recently :) Mods, feel free to lockeroo!
-
Dunno if this has been posted before, but thought it was worth sharing 8) http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/02/22/ ... de-videos/ I've seen that guy before in films, who is he? Was he in The Big Lebowski?

It must do something. Why else would Audi and other manufacturers fit them as standard? Be interested to see a before and after temp comparison. Jim and Steve, might be worth a shot on your TDI's. Lots of Fabia vRS owners have done this with their PD130's. Think I'm gonna give it a go on the RS when I get time.
-
Yeh, defo wouldn't want plain holes in the liner! Maybe you could paint the rivets with Hammerite or something?
-
Don't know if anyone's heard of this mod before, but a lot of the Skoda RS boys (1.8T & PD130) have done this with a lot of success. I would think something similar could be done for the G60 too 8) http://www.18turbo.com/ttvent.html Some people have done it with a vent from B & Q, which is even cheaper

Almost as bad as that cream C with Golf headlights and Ibiza tails :pukeright:
-
Ibsyj, no way! VR6 is defo the thirstiest! The G is only slightly more thirsty than a valver in my experience.
-
When I changed mine, I used Castrol SMX-S (I think that's what it was called! :?), which I got from Halfords, and some Slick 50 gearbox treatment, as I couldn't get hold of the MT90 at the time. Worked an absolute treat and the improvement was very noticeable.
-
What sort of power are you after? Are you thinking of charging the VR6? Think I'd go down that route rather than the 1.8T. The sound of a supercharged VR is special!

Yeh, not nice to look at, especially the 1.8. VTI coupe is nice though. I'm surprised the 1.6 beats you so easily at higher speeds. Mine was lethal off the lights- would literally beat anything. Felt like it was getting out of puff above 70mph though. I suppose if you make sure it stays in the 'zone' through all the gears... Absolutely diabolical if you get caught in the wrong gear though! I remember being completely owned by a Polo TDI once coming onto the M25. Really embarassing. The 1.8 is a better engine IMHO. The 'Teg Type-R uses a tweeked version of the same engine. Much better torque so you don't have to thrash it. Sounded amazing with an AEM CAI when the cam swapped  8)
-
What the others said! You'll get destroyed- especially from a standing start. Is the VTI 1.6 or 1.8? If it's the 1.6 you stand a chance at higher speeds- they really slow down at 70mph + , whereas the valver should keep going 'til it gets well past 100. If it's the 1.8, you'll lose whatever.

What mpg was your G60 getting? Would think a Golf VR6 would defo be more thirsty!

Two today :) First one Swansea, lunchtime. Red K-plate parked outside a VAG specialist garage near Sketty (not totally sure- don't know Swansea at all!). Dark C heading west past J34 M4 (South Wales) around 3pm. -
Worth every penny :D 8) How many C's are around with that kind of mileage?

9.10-10.10pm Yay! :D From R.T. The last series of Top Gear was cruelly short, but here's compensation - a one-off special where the team attempt winter-sports-type events, but with cars. So Richard Hammond plays a game of car ice hockey, while Jeremy Clarkson and James May do the biathlon in four-wheel drives. Given their record with these kind of stunts, you'd bet on it being hugely enjoyable. (There were no tapes, sadly.)

I'd have a S14A 200SX Touring in black.
