  1. Either VW or Vibratechnics. Total false economy buying cheap from GSF etc- they have quite a high failure rate, whereas a VW mount will often last 15 years!
  2. Agreed- I'd put the early one back on.
  3. Chris, I just checked and it says your membership is fully active and that you joined in the summer. Did you get a new card?
  4. Those badges were brand new when I had it :)
  5. Thanks chap 8) Yeh shame about those two- reckon Laura wants to keep it though ;)
  6. Its actually not that bad. As _Andy_ says, just be systematic.
  7. Take a look at Kris's heater matrix guide. Loads of pics in there. Make sure you label every wire/plug as soon as you disconnect it ;)
  8. Fair play, Darren! Lovely Porka 8) Just make sure the 16v goes to a good home- it sure deserves it!
  9. Try dropping Ian (GlosterOx) a PM- he's done these in the past.
  10. Blimey Steve! It really mounts up doesn't it? What's left to do then?
  11. I think I was expecting it to be terrible (after the last one!) and was pleasantly surprised! Thought some of the effects were very good, but there was also a lot of unconvincing stuff too. I really don't think CGI has moved on that much since Jurassic Park. You'd think by now it would be pretty much flawless, but a lot of it still doesn't look real.
  12. Rise of the Planet of the Apes- 73/100 waaaaaay better than I was expecting! Transformers: Dark of the Moon- 68/100 much better than the last one.
  13. They are pretty rare and look superb IMHO. Keep it silver!
  14. Pretty sure it's 2 litres/quarts as you say. I've always managed to just about empty the two bottles. There will always be a little oil left in, but wouldn't think 1/2 a litre. Did you drive the car first to get the oil warm? This is a must. Also, how long did you leave it to drain for?
  15. Re: fuel consumption, it really seems to be pot luck. I've had a G60 and 2x 2.016v that were very good on fuel. They would all get 40mpg+ on longer runs. All my VR6s have been similar- usually 26-30mpg on a 20 min run, up to mid thirties on longer runs. I've had a 2.016v which was very similar to this, and my 1.816v was marginally better. The 8v is by far the best for consistent fuel consumption, and is actually quite nice to drive. I wouldn't exactly describe it as 'quick' though
  16. Always a good 'un. Gonna book a CCGB camping plot. We can have as many as we want, so get your names down if interested! http://www.bristolvolksfest.co.uk/ 1. CazzaVR 2. Captainredeye 3. GlosterOx 4. Swompy 5. Jonny H 6. Lewvw 7. Vornbender 8. Bs6VR6 9. Harrier 10.
  17. Sounds like you could've lost one of the caliper bolts.
  18. Got my other bits through yesterday- thanks mate! :salute:
  19. Saw the ad for this the other day- looks very very nice! Love the interior 8)
