  1. Kempy - no ones turned up for these wheels yet mate...
  2. Whimps! Was down there, was fine! Just a bit windy. Anyway, give me a shout if you guys ever do want to hook up, im available most nights. Secondly, Sam - my g/f realy wants to see your 'rado! She's seen you driving around and thinks it looks awsome!
  3. This may sound like a realy wierd one but... Since fitting my new heater matrix the other day, ive been using the blowers a lot more. Only problem is the air realy doesnt smell that nice... I mean is not a dead rat in my air ducts or anything, it could just be a bit more pleasant. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Ive searched and found out about the Jetex pollen filters, and that sounds like a winner, but just wondered if anything exists that could make my car smell a little nicer when the blowers are on? :camp:  8) Edit: Thanks for changing the post :D ( Spelling was never one of my strong points ;) )
  4. Dash Out for heater matrix... 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPhoto0301.jpg[/attachment:1ldv770b] What a mess! Photo0302.jpg[/attachment:1ldv770b] New Rims - Azev A's. 5. Is possible but a bit of a Fook-er! :camp:  Well, technically I did it with my dash "in" because the cobra alarm etc wiring has been wired around some of the dash framework, so I couldnt pull it out completely without re-wiring - and there was no way I wanted to touch any of that! Looks like a spiders web with a few birds nest's stuck in it! (So thats a fun job for winter!). Seriously though, for the amount you have to remove to even get close to being able to do with with the dash in, you may aswell just take those last 6 bolts out and pull the dash forward at least! However, my C now smells of warm :luvlove:
  6. Havent updated this in aaaaaages! Done quite a bit since those photos, currently now has Azev A's on its feet and I personally prefer it! Rota's have been sold to someone on here (should be collected end of the month). Yesterday I had the entire dash out (well as far as it could) and changed the elusive heater matrix... omg! Definately not a job I want on a regular basis! Pics to follow tonight!
  7. Ive allready made plans to be there this coming sunday. Not once have I spoke to anyone there but ive decided that me and a few mates are going to turn up and see what happens! So an ideal idea! What time does it all kick off? Do they still meet at the pub at the showground and convoy down? Just that if Chris needs to go by 2.30, they dont meet at the botolph until 2ish aparently. Makes no odds to me, im closer to botolph than the showground
  8. Heater Matrix. OMG. What a Job. Dash in? LMFAO Yeah, sure!
  9. Unless its a bit like yours and scared of tarmac ;)
  10. That HDR pic is like porn.
  11. Might be an obvious one but what condition is your calliper in? If your piston is corroded it can leave the brake pads touching the disc and overtime cause the disc to heat up and warp?
  12. Was at blockbusters the other day, talking to someone I didnt know but my g/f did. Him: "So who's is that red veedub thats outside yours all the time" Me: "Thats mine, my Corrado" *smiled a bit* Him: "Ahhh, its lovely! I stare at it every day on my way to work, realy nice!" Me: "Yeah, I quite like it too!" and then it goes downhill... Him: "Yeah, I realy like muscle cars, im realy into them. It just reminds me of a real muscle car!" Me: "Eh?" Him: "I realy like muscle cars, and it reminds me of a proper muscle car... looks great!" ... Me: "... Thanks". Knowing when to stop is an art, sometimes silence is golden! Bloody muscle car indeed!!! ITS MY SPORTS COUPE!!! (With extra definition on the "PE" part!!!!!) :epicfail:
  13. Can anyone do me a quick favour and just measure that cubby hole for me? My C is a 1.8 16v 1990 but I dont think that cubby hole changed between models? Basically im looking to fit a radio setup into it but need to know the width at the top of the hole, the width at the bottom of the hole, and the depth aswell? I dont have my car with me and could do with knowing by the end of the day... Cheers in advance!!!
  14. 1.8 16v engine, want to fit a cone filter to replace the airbox (see what its like). Theres loads of hoses on the top of the air box which im unsure of their purpose / what to do with them when removing the airbox... Any tips? :)
  15. Getting exciting Sam! Cant wait :) Do you still want those clips by the way? I think ive still got a few of them kicking around my desk somewhere...

Ive gotta get them!", until these came up! :D 8x16 Rota Cups 8) So here she is - My Baby, as she stands today! passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPhoto0236.jpg[/attachment:3m9ywvyl] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPhoto0240.jpg[/attachment:3m9ywvyl] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPhoto0232.jpg[/attachment:3m9ywvyl] Photo0244.jpg[/attachment:3m9ywvyl]
  18. I bought her back in March time (2009) so havent had her that long - but realised the other day that I havent put anything up about her! So here goes: I had been wanting a 'Rado ever since I was given a ride in one when I was 16. It was a VR6 and I knew then that it was the car I wanted to own when I was older! Anyway, ringing around insurance companies, and checking bank statements etc - I couldnt realy afford a VR6 and the insurance would have been rediculous! So I decided to start from the bottom, and work my way up :) I found a few but the vast majority were either asking silly money, or had been badly badly chavved. I didnt want another chavved car, or one that had been modified - because my experience of allready modified cars are that they are always done cheaply and badly and you can never realy trust what the spotty 17 year old has bodged to get his dirty g/f all excited. So anyway, after a few weeks I found my one :) 1990 G Plate 1.8 16v, 107/8k on the clocks when I bought her off the bay :help: She was pretty much standard, the guy had put awful looking wheels off a Polo on there, along with a Polo steering wheel and a dreadfull headunit :( But hey ho - it hadnt been chavved! I took the train about 150 miles to go and collect her, and drove her all the way home without a problem :) So here she was when I bought her: Corrado conversion V2 (3).pdf5.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] Book1.pdf6.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] Got her back home and gave her a well needed clean! stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfPhoto0110.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] ETKA Corrado.pdfPhoto0112.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] I got her in March and MOT was up middle of May time - I thought it would be a good idea to get her in for a quick checkover / pre-MOT check to see if there was anything I was going to need to get done. The plan had always been to get to Run To The Sun in her so I had to get her MOT'd before we went! :epicfail: Rear brakes, handbrake, cracked windscreen, headlights, pedal rubbers, and a few other things. I was expecting to have to do a few bits to get her through MOT - after all, I bought her with the intention of wanting to work on her, so I would have been dissapointed if she had gone straight through. Anyway, long story short after; 3 MOT's Recon rear callipers New rear pads / discs / wheel bearings New front pads / discs New windscreen Audi TT pedal rubbers A few quid here and there and she was through! Hoorah! Off to Newquay!!!!!!!!!! The day after my MOT we were on the road and off in convoy to RTTS :D Just scraped the MOT in time! To my amazement, she made it there and back, and a mini road trip whilst there without a hitch! Topped the coolant up once or twice and the rest was just petrol! I was amazed and so chuffed! stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfPhoto0177.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] Corrado92.pdfPhoto0178.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPhoto0180.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] So after making it all that way and back - I decided that I would allow myself to fall in love and treat her accordingly :D Upon her return she was treated to a decent service, badgeless grill, front splitter, and FK coilovers : climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPhoto0193.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPhoto0194.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go] Photo0198.jpg[/attachment:3mssw9go]
  19. I was at Festival of 1000 Bikes at the weekend, racing in the grasstrack demo. I saw a green Storm looking beautifull drive past me - i gave chase but he parked at the top end of a big field, so I had to give up. Was going to give you a wristband or 2 to get you in as I had lots left over! Think the reg was N35MCN or MCA? Or something like that...? (It was on the sunday)
  20. Im guessing the VR6 suspension may have been setup slightly differently each side to combat the wieght issue? Or it may just be that with the car lower, gravity affects it differently due to its new center of gravity and its more noticeable? Failing that i could just be talkign complete boll*cks.

    Aftermarket ARBs

Ok im very new to all this modding stuff, so im learning as I go basically. Ive recently fitted coilovers to my C, and it is very low now. Its just the right height for around here! However Ive been getting this knocking / slight grinding noise coming from the passengers side of the front. It looks like the front arb is actually touching the wishbone (well, in contact quite hard), and the knocking / scraping looks to be being caused by the arb catching the wishbone... does this sound feasable? They are against each other. If so - would a replacement ARB from somewhere like Weitec be any different to the standard one? Or would it fit exactly the same and give me the same problem? Im hoping that this is the problem, and that an ARB from Weitec or somewhere similar will be a different shape to cope with cars lowered like that? Forgive my niavety :)
  22. Mine is also a little wonky, but being on coilovers I will just adjust it when i can get the time

Go for Halfords Pro if buying from there - they're guaranteed. 1) Handbrake cable - Peice of p*ss. You will laugh at yourself for even thinking about worrying about it ;) disconnect it at the lever first and then just work your way back, take note of the clips that keep it secure to the chassis. Taking it off the lever end first allows you to get it off the calliper easily. 2) Replacing the callipers - get some hose clamps and clamp it before removing the hose from the calliper. That should mean very minimal bleeding is required when the new callipers are on. Then connect the new cable up to the ratchet mechanism, and work your way back up through to the front of the car (Poke the front of the cable through the car before attatching it to the calliper though - makes it easier in the long run. 3) Pump the brake a few times first, get the rear callipers working first, then adjust the handbrake up to suit. But the pistons need to be pumped out first to make it nice and easy / quick. Whole job (callipers and cables) should take about 30mins!

The first nut you can get to is the locking nut, the one behind that is your adjustment. Make sure you adjust them both evenly. I had the same fail on my MOT a month ago, i ended up replacing the callipers and cables to get it through. Simply adjusting it at the handbrake end did nothing. If you can, get someone to work the handbrake up and down whilst you are underneath it, watch the handle that the handbrake cable connects to on each calliper, these should move in and out quite far with ease. Although when I did mine, I ended up fitting; Recon rear callipers New handbrake cables New rear pads New rear discs New rear wheel bearings  All easy enough to do, handbrake cables are a peice of p*ss if you find you need to replace them!
