The tyres on the car are in good condition but are of poor quality (they are made by a company called Triangle!). They were on the car when I bought it and I plan to change the wheels and tyres soon. I will try your suggestion of swaping over the wheels

No at slower speeds its fine. I thought the suspension would be under more load when stopping from a higher speed and maybe that had something to do with it.

My G60 has just had a complete front end suspension overhaul. I have replaced all the bushes arms and mounts and even had the tracking, camber etc adjusted. The brakes are balanced as they were fine when it had its MOT. The problem I have now and also had before the work is it pulls to the left under heavy braking at speeds over 50MPH. As you can imagine I am very p1ssed off about this and need some help. Any ideas?? 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfCF_before.JPG[/attachment:22zlk2e5]CF_After.JPG[/attachment:22zlk2e5]

Managed to get a G60 frame off the Forum, so it was a straight swap :D :D

I am on the road again :D :D :D New subframe and arms + bushes etc all fitted and I have my car back...... And today it :censored: snows :( A G60 has enough problems putting power down on a damp road so the snow is going to be a nightmare.

I think I see what you mean in this picture from Vortex

Thats a very nice looking subframe :D Is that one in the pic Corrado or Golf? I was not sure if the red circle showed the bracket thingy or where it should be. My car is in store at the moment so its not that easy to compare. Sorry to be a retard but will it fit without the thingy?? :D :D

What extra mounting points are these? DO you have any more info?

Last week I tried to replace one of my front lower suspension arms. Unfortunately the securing bolt that runs from front to back snapped in the sub frame :epicfail:. This had been replaced before by a previous owner as I have a receipt for it but traces of loctite were found around the bolt :cuckoo: Various attempts at drilling the bolt out failed leaving me with no choice but to replace the front sub frame :censored: :censored: . I have been offered a sub frame from a MK2 Golf 16v :D but when I check on ETKA the part numbers are slightly different :confused4: :- Golf 16V = 535 199 315 AD Corrado G60 = 535 199 315 C Does anyone here know the Golf sub frame will fit?

I had been looking at something similar and have been recommended a company called Elite Direct http://www.elitedirect.com/WheelAlignment/Wheel-Alignment.html which are not to far from me. A friend had their car adjusted by them and they supply the printout both before and after. I have uploaded a file from ETKA which shows the rear beam. Can you let me know what parts are the bushes that need replacing?
-
So basically fit them in the centre of the slots and adjust the camber as per Bentley. Once thats done get the tracking checked and thats it??

I would like to replace my lower suspension arms/bushes as the bushes are worn and one of the supension arms has had a bump at some point. Does anyone know how to set the position of the lower ball joint. In the past I have replaced the ones on the car and simply marked their previous position. With new suspension arms I was hoping there would be a more scientific approach. Any ideas????

Will give the Wiki thing a try, Thanks for the advice :D :D :D

My blower motor has decided to only work in position 4 (highest speed). Is this a resistor pack or something if so how much would I expect to pay for it?

Thats a beast

I think the bentley manual states that when bleeding the rear brakes turn on the ignition, open the bleed nipple and press the brake pedal. The ABS pump should cut in and pump the fluid through. :D :D

That is sh1te!!!!!!!!!

I would check the front scuttle panel fresh air intake. What sometimes happens is the scuttle drains block with leaves, then it rains and the scuttle area fills with water and it leaks through the air intake seal. I would take the air intake off and replace the seal and check the drains are not blocked. Good Luck :D :D

Looks like a good deal, You can re-use the circlips that are in the charger, the new bolts are just shining things, the old ones are just as good. The only thing is there isn't any Kluber grease with the kit. I contacted Kluber and requested a sample so got a small pot for free. The sealent is used for sealing the 2 halfs of the charger so there are no leaks.

I did mine last November, the ABS rotors came off easily using 2 large flat screwdrivers (one each side) to prise them off gently. To refit them make sure they are fitted squarely and tap them home gently with a rubber mallet. I later changed them for new ones when I had and ABS issue, but really there was nothing wrong with them as the sourece of my problem was the sensors and not the rotors. They are cheap to replace at £7 each from Ebay. If you re-use yours make sure you clean them well with a wire brush as clogged rotors can cause the ABS to cut in at low speeds. It would be difficult to remove the wheel bearing cases from the old disks. I replaced mine with new ones (again these wern't expensive). I asked my brother to fit these as he has a press at work but in the end he managed to push them in with a large socket in a vice.
