Window Rollers - on hiatus due to c*ck up
Topaz2008 replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Do you have any sets left? Looking for 1 set. -
Any more news on this? I am planning an Omex conversion on my G60 so would be interested to here how you are getting on.
-
I would like one of these its for a 1992 G60
-
Its a shame to see this happen but after the trouble I had getting my charger rebuilt by them I am not surprised.

G60 Rolling Road Set Up or re-map.. Where from? Recommendations Please
Topaz2008 replied to P3rks's topic in Engine Bay
I got so bored with trying to find someone who could do a live map on my G60 (well there was DG Autotech but Dave left...) that I have just ordered an Omex ignition system. The Digifant is coming off and I am moving to something more modern. -

RHD in carbon fibre please -
I could never work out why the Corrado was considered a failure by VW. I have had both types of Scirocco in the past, and they were great cars, but I would choose the Corrado everytime! I can only assume that they cocked up the marketing for the car. Great video though :-)

I have one on a 1992 G60. It makes the exhaust flow much better as it removes the restriction from the cat. The car still passes the emissions test easily as well.

Its surprising the prices things sell for on Ebay, but that really is taking the p1ss!

Mocal Sandwich plate fitting - g60 with a Rallye FMIC
Topaz2008 replied to P3rks's topic in Engine Bay
I have the same setup as you and have my oil cooler mounted where the standard intercooler used to fit (under the passenger wing). The factory water/oil cooler has been removed with the sandwich plate connectors facing the front of the car (well slightly angled towards the front engine mount). The pipes just fit in here and just clear the U bend. My hoses have 90 degree connectors and run under the car with the water hoses to the oil cooler. It all works very well. I will post some pics later when I am home so you can see what i mean. -
Sorry for the late reply, PM sent

This has probably been checked already but I thought I would mention it anyway. On the back of the throttle body there are 2 vacuum hoses (see attached), 1 connects to the ECU and the the other to the carbon cannister control valve (or if it is removed is normally blanked). If these two hoses are connected the wrong way around you will experience this type of running from the engine. Vacuum Hoses.pdf

I have an unused set of Febi ones of anyone's interested. Still in the box £15 delivered.
-
Yes and its finally run in :)
-
Yes its not something I would have liked to have lost.
-
I had planned a DG live remap but sadly Dave has moved on. I did catch up with him on here but nothing concrete yet. Yes I remember our PM's :) ---------- Post added at 08:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ---------- The charger turned up today and is now fitted and running. Just 250 "driving Miss Daisy" miles to do before I can test it out properly :) So we got there in the end.
-
Yes, looking forward to that bit :-)
-
Yes I saw that last night as well and it did make me think..

I have an update! Earlier I received an email and a missed call + message form Darren (sods law, been after him for days and missed his call!). I also have pictures of the porting work and a tracking number for the delivery (apparently the charger had been sent back as undelivered to the end user the first time). The tracking number is for the new delivery sent out today. On top of that an offer of a £75 credit note and apologies for not getting back to me as he had been off sick and has only just read my emails.... Well, lets hope it turns up tomorrow..... I will let you all know.
-
I am connected with him on Linkedin, so have sent him a message. I think that exhausts all forms of instant communication now!
-
Yes I always use Outlook and ask for a delivered + read recept. Thats ok but you can set it up so that your prompted before sending out the read receipt so its easy to hide...
-
Thanks for your efforts yesterday, still no contact from Darren.....

No Debit card I am afraid ---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:16 PM ---------- I always found Rob ok to deal with, well at least he answered the phone..... ---------- Post added at 09:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:22 PM ---------- No he is there, well not sure about today as I did not make contact with anyone. Your right in what you say it wouldn't take long for a quick update to put my mind at rest. In reality if I had known he would have the charger for so long I would have sent it in the winter when the cars off the road. ---------- Post added at 09:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:37 PM ---------- I am also self employed and yes you are right sometimes things don't go as planned, but its all about keeping the customer up to speed with whats going on. As you probably know the difference between business to bussiness saless and dealing with the public is the payment terms and the public pay upfront not 30 days or more after.
-
Its about 100 miles each way and I have considered that but its a day off work without pay as I am self employed. Hardly seams fair does it?
-
Amazingly I have paperwork, I am assuming the invoice with the mileage on its what you are talking about, I got that 2 days before the charger was supposed to be delivered. I only use my car for 6 months of the year and it looks like 1 of those months (or even longer) its going to be sitting on the drive waiting for a charger.
