Looking sweet! I've got a wee soft spot for E30's! here's my old 318 Someone bought it and welded up the diff' to drift and rolled it! (i have the pics!) And apperntly it done the rounds on driftworks after that!

My water temp in my 9a sits at about 100-105'C about town but the gauge suggests 110'C is "into the red" and the fan still works. Is it safe to drive for the time being? There seems to be no coolant in the system, just water so i'll flush it and refill with good stuff and take it from there Cheers

'Just to point out, although the car was misfiring to hell before, it could still get not bad acceleration at high revs and felt pretty responsive. Now it feels like the exhaust or airflow intake is blocked Do you think this could be the air/fuel ratio, and if so is there a way of adjusting it? The car's a '92 so AFAIK vag com wouldn't really be any use to me. Cheers

Right, my mate has got my 9a running smooth now, i think he said the rotor arm had moved position or something, so used his out his Golf. However although it's smooth now it feels a bit restricted and unresponsive. It uses slightly more fuel, but that might be down to me pushing it a bit harder. TBH i'm just happy i can drive it again, but i'm kind of pfff with it at the 'mo. Any ideas what this could be down to? It's had a replacement idle air control valve but the sealed turn screw has been unsealed so i've been trying that, turning it a tiny bit at a time but it makes little or no difference. :( I've also noticed today that the water temp's running about 100 degrees even on the motorway and the fan's on most of the time. Top speed's about 85mph. My wife's away for the weekend so i'm going to get drunk and stew in my own self pity :drinking:

'fraid not, my mate tried that one when they put Sierra down when it was a Granada he had :?

I live in Kilmarnock, 'don't have an ex venom car though :( ! I also see a burgandy 'rado parked in my old work in Killie too

Does anyone else get informed that there's a new Scirroco out now? You're like "really!? " The E30-zone's actually quite good, i was on there for a year or so!

Not sure if it's any use, but when my mate replaced the 4 speed 'box in a Nova i had (I know i know...) with a 5 speed we encountered a similar problem, but sorted it by sawing off a bit of the plastic guide from the base of the gearstick to allow the 'stick to move further across, and after that it slid into gear no prob's :)

My de-badged mk3 supra has been called a few things from an MR2 to a Ferrari, I've even been told it's not a supra! Anyway what's your Corrado been called? I usually get " a corrando.. what's that?" to which i can only reply with "It's a..... car... "

DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING!
-
none yet, i'm getting a kr cam fitted soon though, once it's running fine! I've just found out the extention thing is an impulse sensor, so i might try'n sort something out with that

Do all C's have full closure, or is it linked to an alarm?
-
Is it the drivers side that's lower? As far as i know this is common on alot of older cars due to there generaly being more weight on that side with the driver being in the car alone I could be talking crap though

This is possibly why my door lock and ignition have different keys!

Hi folks, i replaced the HT leads today. The car's running much better and the vibration's away! So thanks for the advice guys  However it still misfires one the engines warmed up, my next port of call is to get the ignition timing checked again one the new ISV arrives. What i did notice is that the lead nearest the distributor had a wire attatchment coming off it and leading onto the loom, what is this for and is it important? The replacement lead didn't have this on it and it doesn't look like i can swap it over  Thanks
-
Thanks to Aide for sending me a KR cam. It arrived with the post this morning, well packaged and protected 8)

The thing is anyone can go on autotrader and buy a faster car, the satisfaction personally is when someone's giving it all that and you thrash them in an "old banger" :D
-
Yeah i'll be replacing it all, there's wire's with different coloured bits added on, some are too short and others just look feeble!
-
I see... So would fitting one of these need more than just set up with a timing light?
-
I searched and found some posts from '06 regarding powerchips with some good reviews. Are these the ones, and do they work, or cause any running issues? I might get one next payday if there's some good feedback :D http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Performance-Chip- ... 1|294%3A50

I fitted a new rocker gasket but i think the vibes are even worse now :( My theory is that the HT leads are old and disturbing them has worsened matters, so i've got a new set on the way from egay. Failing that I'll be getting a timing belt and kr cam fitted soon, so i'll ask to get the bad vibrations seen to at the same time, and post any findings for future reference 8) Thanks for the feedback fella's :salute:

It's got a fuse in it, but it's also got a little circuit board and coil type thing in it

My 9a idles at 2k, i was told it's the idle air control valve that's faulty

My corrado was un-loved and un-wanted, i rescued her for £200 and gave her a loving home. She is a bit needy at times but is starting to settle after lots of attention :smug:

Hmmm... I might read up on the gas flowed head, and ask about work to see if anyone can do it :norty:
