Cannot believe what's happening to this car.Owned this year's ago loved it.

Very nice to drive especially the s2 variant and turbo perfect handling and can be improved more with mo30 suspension Buy one with a full history and triple check the boDy work is in tip top condition.sills that are rusting can cost up to 700 quid a side.Also wings you cannot quite see the bottom lip that usually rots away.The electrics can be troublsome sunroof windows and 9 times out of 10 the digital clock is kaput.A good thing is they can be had for little money now a decent s2 or turbo for 5k

this car will become an ornament if you clean it anymore and you wont drive it If you have money to burn though why not

if money time and transport is no option obviously give it the full treatment

i would be going for an e46 m3 there about 9k now for a 51 52 plater or a m535i diesel plenty good.

Thats 1 thing on a totally sorted car The rotary tips fail the fuel consumption is bad the depreciation is bad the tax is bad the oil consumption is bad the engines fail new starter motor coli packs costing around a grand from dealer If the car's not got upto full operating temperature it can flood the engine and takes about 15mins to start it faulty catalyst cause fires do i need to go on ???? but you take your chance with every car and one one person likes someone somewhere is bound to hate it .

Got the car back and what a job fresh paint on bumper wing wirrors and bonnet now all i need is a car bra :)

Polished the car today then took it too the paint sprayers to get the bonnet bumper and wing mirrors painted (damm stone chips) but will be minty mint then. :clap:

Yep, that is big dissapointment that hits most people when they first drive a VR6 :lol: If it was horrendously flat, there could actually be a problem with it. The most common killer of torque on this engine is a dead £40 cam sensor, but most people are oblvious to it as the engine drives OK without it, just uses a lot of fuel and feels slower than normal.....but being new to them, you don't know what normal is yet. The Corrado, unlike it's American "SLC" counterpart, didn't get a "Check Engine" light on the dash to give a visual clue something isn't right. If you love the car, don't let the lack of urge put you off. It's only a lump of metal that can be hoiked out and replaced with any number of torquier engines from the VAG range. A popular choice is the 2.8 24V from the Golf and Bora 4Motions because it's the same capacity and power (insurance friendly) and cheaper to buy s/hand than rebuilding a 12V. Massively torquier low down, right off the pedal. But the pay off for that low down urge is flatness beyond 3000rpm, which is where the 12V starts hitching up it's skirt. Another reason the VR6 feels lethargic low down is silly tall gearing. To put this into some kind of real world perspective. Take the Civic Type R. The VR6 has a lot more torque than that engine, but the Civic feels quicker low down purely because of it's very short gearing. They are very evenly matched 0 - what ever mph though..... Well put that man perfect response :) :clap:

You need to take the car on a good run You should get good torque in every gear. the torque seems to be better the more you get it up the revs and when you put your foot down at you should have a good amount of torque Whats the problem with steering column why is it loose? wing mirrors could be a simple job like stripping apart and cleaning and might cure the problem. Where about in the country are you?

great looking car i did look into them once but found out about suspension issues subframe issues electrical issues.So was put off big time.

Im afraid racing in f1 has been like that now for years they need to improve somewhere the most moring race is monaco pretty much just watch qualifying to see who wins

If you like the look of the mk3 go look and have a test drive then find a 8v corrado and a vr6 and compare all 3 then make your mind up. The mk3 golfs were pants compared to the mk2 and original gti.Too heavy crap driving postition no driver feel and pretty gutless might be slightly better in 16v form.

I have owned all apart from the mk3 8 v and from what i have heard i have missed nothing. The pick of the bunch for me is the corrado vr6.The mk3 golf i feel always looked and felt second rate comparedf with earlier golfs. The corrado vr6 is miles apart from the mk3 golf.And returns a good 30+ mpg on a run. And the big question is budget if you dont have a lot to spend get an 8v corrado as spending little on a vr6 will inevitably lead to big bills. :eek: Plenty of nice examples for sale on here and edition38.

what about a nice focus rs mk1 can pick them up from 7k now and a hoot to drive also a nice track day car :) :clap:

whatever you do dont buy a 944 on a budget :( a host of horror stories will await if you do the sills alone if rusty and in need of repair 700 per side :( triple layered metal
