  1. Saw a metallic green C in Lincoln on the Tritton Road just turning into the Halfrauds Carpark on Sunday lunchtime. Also saw a metallic blue C with FK style rear lights and non standard wheels parked in a Carpark next to the canal footpath. I think it was a factory carpark. Between Boultham Avenue and Triton road area. Couldn't get nearer then a 100 metres away.
  2. Black C with a debadged grill, followed me from Woodhall Spa to Coningsby this morning around 8.45
  3. Hi folks, I'm after a knock sensor and the idler pulleys for a '91 G60. Are they only available from the stealers or is there anywhere cheaper? cheers
  4. Storm warning, that might have been me on saturday. Heading towards Navenby/grantham from Waddington/bracebridge on the A607? Were you heading towards Bracebridge - I think I did a quick wave! As for the colour, a very dirty looking black maybe. That's my neck of the woods.
  5. Might be your rear rubber bumpstops. They're actually spring assistors as well. If they are perished could be causing the rear to sag a bit
  6. Steve, its definately the pulleys. They're on there way out. Volkskraft have had them soaking in aerosol grease and they have quietened down a lot. Still wee bit squeaky. Will need doing in the medium term So are the pulleys VAG only or do GSF or EuroCar Parts sell them? Incidentally they replaced my rear axle bushes and engine belts (most parts supplied) and got it MOT'd for £145. Not bad I thought when I'd heard of £250 plus for bush replacements!
  7. All the belts are from GSF, so hopefully they're up to spec. As for the pulleys, I'll have a chat with volkskraft tomorrow.
  8. I've had the budgies in for a while but it used to disappear with a spot of WD40 or damp weather. I've now had enough! Just had the belts changed but the noise is still there. It's still in the garage at the mo getting the rear wishbones done. Volkskraft seems to think its probably knackered pulleys. Any idea on costs for these or possible other alternatives remedies?
  9. What's the gen about using a slimline fan too? Do you recommend them? If so which ones? Sizes etc. Is that a better option than using the original ones?
  10. Cheers G man, Do you know what thread it is? Are they easily available?
  11. Anyone with EKTA help out with the screw for the U Bend?
  12. Any chance someone could get me the part number and/or size of the screw/bolt that holds on the U bend?
  13. reason you can't get a 60 number on a G plate is that DVLA will only allow the numbers 1 to 20 on the earlier plates. Pain I know. I got myself a personal plate a while back. Get it straight from DVLA if you're going to get one - its cheaper. Took all the forms down to the licencing office and they swapped all the details there and then. I was gob smacked!
  14. Here are the bits I've got with pics. A couple of different angles on the rad and intercooler too
  15. Thanks for that Henny, With the 'kit' I got the fan plus brackets, fan shroud, gasket, all the pipe work and the support bar you mentioned. Incidentally the radiator is about the same size as the intercooler, not smaller like I've seen on other photos. Also I haven't got access to EKTA. I used to use the online one but it has disappeared. I'll take a few photos of the stuff I've got and post it on here in a bit
  16. Hi folks, I've just got hold of all the parts from a G60 golf (not sure which model though) Intercooler part number is 191 145 805H radiator part number 191 121 253AL A couple of questions can I use this rad to replace the original one? Or is it too much hassle? At present the intercooler is still bolted to it. I seem to be missing a long screw that bolts the U bend to the charger. Is it a standard size or can you use the one that holds the charger silencer box on? - if it has one (haven't looked too closely yet). Henny mentioned I might have to cut of some metal work/vanes off the front of the charger and bend down one of the slam panel bolts (near the battery). Lastly, do you have to take off the bumper or does it just make it a damn site easier. I'm going to trawl the archives now to see if I can get any more gen!
  17. Glad you like it Chris, another successful convert! Did you fit the fader control they provided in the end or did you just use the built in fader on your head unit?
  18. Personally speaking if I were you I'd go down to the nearest decent ICE place and have a chat with a knowledgable assistant. If possible actually listen to the speakers It's not always a case of you get what you pay for, it's just that certain speakers are better for playing different types of music. Some are better for rock etc. As for fitting locations, you don't use the original cables due to the crossovers. The door speakers are a direct swap, the crossovers will probably have to be fitted behind the plastic kick panels in the footwells. The tweeters could be fitted in the original locations in the dash but you would have to trash the old ones - cut the centres out with dremel/drill - to fit the new ones in.
  19. simmyboy, I reckon the bass link is as good as a middle of the range sub and amp but I'm no sound off king. It gives plenty enough bass for what I want and can go quite 'deep'. There are several people on here who've got them and all seem very happy with them. As for running components without an amp its ok but if you get some that can take a bit of oomph then if you put an amp in you don't have to replace the speakers again. Just remember although watts it is a power measurement in amplifier terms for our purpose it really means sound quality. The higher the output of the amp the better the sound will be at all volumes and especially when loud. 4 x 45 watt output should drive most speakers without too much hassle as long as you don't try to have it F loud
  20. Hi Sarah, Welcome to the forum. Henny is one of the daddies when it comes to G60's - considering he doesn't fix them for a living!!!!. Others to chat to are 16vG60 and g-man - both of them do fix/upgrade them for a living.
  21. What sort of power does the alpine kick out? 4 x 60 Watt? If so and you want the stock look most people go for a component set in the front and replace the door speakers and tweeters. Don't bother too much about the rears but you could invest in a basslink later. I've got an alpine and replaced my fronts with a set of boston fs50. The biggest change was when I put in the infinity basslink though. Check out these 3 web sites for cheap gear. http://www.caraudiodirect.com http://caraudiosecurity.com http://www.cel-direct.com and this is about te cheapest place for a bass link http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/pro ... ts_id+1538
  22. storm warning, that was me on the A1 sunday. I was running a wee bit late for the MK meet (blame the gf). I was giving it a bit of welly!
  23. Volkskraft at Fiskerton (from Lincoln, through Cherry Willingham towards Bardney) did a bloody good job on mine. Probably not the cheapest though. Go have a chat. Darren the bodywork specialist is a perfectionist and Paul (the mechanic) is also a dab hand bodywork. He is also a Corrado owner - he rebuilt a crash damaged one so knows all the ins and outs.
  24. My best weekend for seeing other corrados - except at meets! On Friday about 4pm on the A46 heading towards Newark from the Nottingham direction (next to syerston airfield) - Blackberry Pearl M reg On Sunday on the A47 heading towards Leicester (near Houghton on the Hill) another blackberry pearl M reg - could it be the same one? I was heading in the opposite direction for both of the above. Again on sunday, at the Whitwell car park at Rutland water, outside the shop, a metallic green J plate badge missing off the rear so couldn't tell what model.
