  1. Just replaced mine. £19 from GPC. To remove them you need to place a flat sided screwdriver (or something similar) down the outer side of the indicator (furthest from the fog light) and the bumper and lever out. Only the bumper side will move outward as It is on a spring clip on that side and fits into clips on the fog light on the other side Mine is a '91 pre-facelift though so it might be a little different to a later model.
  2. Cheers for that. Will keep my eye open.
  3. Hi folks, contemplating changing my full size spare / humped boot carpet for a space saver and the flat carpet. Question is what size space saver do I need?
  4. Having seen a nice silver corrado get pulled by cops just after we had come out of the Camp site I thought I'h head a different way home. I took some of the back roads - B1078 or something like that to the A14. Nice and twisty. Would have been good on a bike or in a corrado with decent suspension (unlike mine at the mo)
  5. All in all, it was a bloody good if not slightly damp weekend. Must take some more bitter drinkers next time though! All you lager louts!! (urrgh warm lager too) Or was that just the next door tent and the welshmen!
  6. I haven't really priced up the smaller pulley and chip mod yet so couldn't comment on prices - not out of warranty yet since refurb. Thought we were looking at 3-400 for the mod though.
  7. Nah, haven't cleaned the ISV yet. Its only varying about 50 RPM at the mo, just gently hunting. Been doing it for about a week. I'll wait until after inters to give it a clean though. Cheers for the info on the bias valve.
  8. Hi folks, just had my MOT done at 'Andrew Robinson Audi-Volkswagen' just off the Tritton Road in Lincoln. An independant Audi/VW trained technician. 'Specialist in ABS, Engine Management, Engines, Gearboxes and Electrics' Moorland Way Workshop, Tritton Road, Lincoln LN6 7JW . Tel 01522 509800 Knows his stuff and seems reasonably cheap too. The GF has been using him for a while. He said my motor was in good nick apart from the minor items below - is it worth putting him in the sticky for good servicing places? Idle is hunting a very small amount (just started), rear axle bushes are on there way out (Got quoted £70 for the labour on those as its a pig of a job) but not a failure yet!, rear brake bias valve needs a little TLC i.e. de-rusting. Incidently it easily passed the emissions test with a de-cat exhaust. Is it worth uprating the rear axle bushes or sticking with OE ones? There seems to be 2 schools of thought on that one. Is it worth completely replacing the rear bias valve? If so any idea on cost? The shopping list for inters seems to get larger and larger! LOL
  9. Will that take into account the different stages of charger? or exhaust thats fitted? etc I'm undecided as to getting a smaller pulley etc but I wouldn't mind a smoother accelerator rather than on/off at low speeds! I had my old 8v golf chipped and it was a lot nicer to drive. Obviously price is always important
  10. First saw a C in the middle of '89 in one of the car mags and thought 'wow' I'd love one of those but at around £18K no thanks. Went to Germany with the forces in '90, one of my mates said he was off to a local German VW dealer to buy a corrado . How much are they Tax free? I asked - £12K!! Less than a grand dearer than a Golf GTI. Off we went to the dealer. Ordered a 16v there and then - the G60 still wasn't released in RHD then - (would have had to wait another 6-8 months for one). He ordered a Pearl Blue metallic one at the same time - dealer must have had a field day!!! Ink Blue metallic, with BBS, height adjustable headlights (IIRC), 'petrol' interior (green/black). They let you choose the colour of interior etc over there. Had the car for nearly 5 years but had to sell it - 'marriage forces sale'! Had a four VW GTIs of various descriptions before buying my G60 - a project in progress.
  11. Congratulations on your new addition mate, Time to get the old nose filters in for those nappy changing moments! See you at Inters with bags under your eyes.
  12. Rang Brentacre, Been offered a Guaranteed No claims Discount (As many claims as you need without affecting your policy!), all mods like for like, with a 350 Excess for £500. I can chip and pulley it, for another £120. Thats for a 36 year old, no points, 1 'no fault' claim but 8+ years no claims. Seems the best so far for me!
  13. I've got the Bridgestone RE720's in size 195/50/15 on mine. Bloody good. The rim protectors are a fantastic idea, why don't all companies do them!! Mine cost about £50 each from Micheldever Tyres in Hampshire.
  14. Just checked on Elephant with lowered, replacement alloys(which I haven't got yet!), exhaust and filter NO EXCESS - £544. Age 36, 1 no fault claim, LN5 postcode. Their cover only replaces items to a standard state. Got a quote from Adrian Flux £561 but a £300 excess. Their cover replaces the modded items with a like for like
  15. You can't go wrong with a supersprint exhaust. Nice and quiet until you welly it! Tail pipe is an oval - almost the same as a standard one IIRC. Not sure on fitting it to a Scorpion exhaust though, depends on pipe size etc. Best bet would be to ask Stealth Racing or Awesome etc
  16. There is also this info too. Not sure if it is in the other link though http://www.corradoclub.co.uk/buyingguide.html
  17. Replaced my door speakers with Boston FS50s. (approx £150) They come with a seperate tweeter which I mounted just above the door speaker. Disconnected the dash tweeter and replaced all the original wiring. Original rears I replaced with JBL GTOs 6"x4". (Approx £50). I had to cut back the underneath speaker 'cover/support' back a bit but its not noticeable as it doesn't affect the actual physical support of the speaker, its more cosmetic. Sound is excellent - with Alpine 9813R (4x60 watt) but could still do with a bit more Bass but this is typical of ALL 'standard/original size' speakers. Next step for me is an Infinity Basslink! Cheaper and smaller than a sub/amp combo wth enough bass to satisfy me.
  18. I've got a 9813R, so if you need any specific info that doesn't seem to be in the pdf give me a shout. The manual is huge though (probably because of all the other languages!) Could photocopy it courtesy of work with next to no hassle but postage would be another matter!
  19. stock at the mo, but stage 4 charger and supersprint exhaust with de-cat and K&N panel filter
  20. The blue/white wire is part of the normal wiring loom, just as mentioned, not used very often. IIRC it was especially for the Blaupunkt Gamma radio.
  21. dazzy is right, there is no need. If you read the destructions it says a direct feed from the battery or fuse box. The 12 volt feed that you find behind the dash especially for the radio comes direct from the fuse box, the big thick red wire IIRC. I checked because I have an Alpine MP3 too. Had it in for 3 or 4 months now with no problems and I have been known to crank it up a bit on the odd occasion!!
  22. I've got the FK Smoked M3 style on mine. I bought them for £175 inc VAT from Gwent at Dubfreeze, Donnington Park. They come with bulb holders as the standard bulb holders are not SUPPOSED to fit. I used the supplied bulb holders for approx 1 day as they are not the best quality in the world - I had serious earthing problems on mine Brake lights on with indicators etc. The standard bulb holders will fit them given a little 'jiggerery' (angle of insertion -oohh err!) etc. As for general fit, you might need to file/adjust the holes slightly to get the best fit. I haven't bothered to do that yet but they don't look too bad. (see photo)
  23. Thanks for the info Jedi, How long have you had your Konis on for now? Have they well and truly settled in? I think I'm just going to go for the kit anyway, can always change the springs later if they feel that bad. Definately need to do something soon though!
  24. Hi folks, I have decided to go for the Koni TA's for my G60 but undecided about the springs. Basically you can get the Koni TA kit (shocks and springs) complete with bump stops from Larkspeed for about £380 inc delivery, which is almost as cheap (if not cheaper) than trying to get the shocks on there own. The H&R springs (or Eibach for that matter) are approx £150. Therefore, is it worth the extra cash for the springs? How much different will the ride feel with the Koni springs compared to the H&R's Finally where is the cheapest place to get the Koni's and H&R/Eibachs from? Needs doing before Inters to be honest, wallows far too much! Cheers
  25. For info check this website out. http://www.my-blaupunkt.com/acatalog/ww ... ls_20.html I got one of the profi gti-flex 270 and it was a direct swap for the VW one. Only difference is that the aerial has a spiral round it. Took 10 mins to swap as you don't have to replace the whole cable
