White 165,000 miles NO tax or MOT The guy I bought this from was planning on fitting carbs and in preparation for this he removed parts of the injection & exhaust system. The car is currently a non-runner as a result but just the above re-fitting and it should run no problems. It also needs a battery. The car comes with a complete stainless exhaust system. Having had only a quick chance to look her over there is nothing obvious, that I could see, that suggests the injection system has been disturbed? The only thing I noticed was the throttle cable has been disconnected (see engine bay pic) The car has also benefited from a 5 stud conversion (see pic) which opens up a wide range of wheel options should you choose to change them. The car is currently sitting on 16" steelies and has good tread on all 4 tyres (205/45) The car is definitely a project and has potential to be a crackin' motor with a bit of time & money thrown at it but to just get it running it needs very little. Body work isn't the best I'll admit, usual spots of rust, but she's old bless her! I really don't want to go down the road of breaking as there's nothing terminal or costly to get it back on the road plus there becoming ever rarer on the road so I would like someone who has the time to fix her up a bit. Matt, Sounds promising! I'm sure I speak for most when I say thanks for all your efforts in trying to tee something up as it seems to be proving quite difficult at the moment. Bonnet could be something to look in to as well, especially for weight saving!

Did they do a Passat VR? I thought that engine only came in the Mk3 Golf, Vento, Corrado & Sharan? So assuming they're Passat then, what would be my options? I'll pop up and have a look at the brake set up to confirm the brake disc size. What is the offset difference between the Corrado VR6 & Passat? Lets hope they're Corrado ones then! Cheers mate.

Yeah been thinking that. I'll have to confirm the wheel set up on this car as being a valver I thought, from factory, they'd be 4x100. Maybe the previous owner had them changed? How would I confirm the offset? Other than the offset how else would I differentiate the VR & Passat set up? Really strange this??? Cheers.

Thanks for the responses guys. So assuming they're 5x100 then, what would I need to change to 312mm set up? Calipers, carriers and discs from a TT/S3 any other models? What's the going rate for a set up? Cheers.

Na mate, they're just sat on 5x100 steelies. I only got the car back to Norfolk yesterday from Worcestershire and haven't had a proper chance to give it a real good look over. I thought the same that they were 4x100. Cheers mate.

Hi Graham, how you doing mate :0) There 5x100 which I thought was weird as my G60 is 4x100. Well I say that because the spare wheels that are on the car a 5 stud? The car is a G reg '90, the '89 isn't different is it? I thought the 5x100 was only applicable to the VR's and every other model was 4x100? Any one clarify? Still on for next Sat?

Looking for a G60 engine complete with charger & gearbox, although not essential if no gearbox. Reasonable mileage preferred not sky rocket miles! Service history of the engine would be a bonus. Thanks.

Hi chaps, As in the title. Ideally no broken clips, wouldn't be too fussed if one is broke so long as it fits securely. Complete with VW badge would be nice, with a 16v badge would awesome! Cheers.

Pictures from when the 20vT started to now. So from the top, the day I took delivery of the 20vT engine. It's from a '01 Leon Cupra 180bhp AUQ engine code with 64k, came with no turbo. Next we have the gearbox from a Mk3 16v, it's an 02A box, bargain 40 quid. I then sourced a Mk3 16v flywheel (35 quid) and bought from GSF a cam belt kit, water pump and VR6 clutch. I then started to strip the engine down for powder coating. I also replaced the plugs and rocker cover gasket. Following a trip to TPS and picking up newly powder coated rocker cover, fuel rail, inlet manifold etc. All the new powder coated stuff bolt up, looks better than I thought. The new VR clutch & plate and Mk3 16v flywheel bolted up. I then replaced the gearbox and rear engine mount for new OE spec ones. I then sourced a solid front mount which was powder coated to match the theme going on. The mighty K03s then got bolted up, got it from a 56k Golf for 180 quid. Still in 2 minds as for turbo choice, may go K04, not sure yet? I then sourced via eBay a cable throttle body, I spend some time cleaning it up and then I decided to paint it matt black with good olde Halfords rattle can stuff. Using a dremel I then polished the internals. Then a few pictures of the gearbox mounted to the engine and all cleaned up, that took a lot of brake & clutch cleaner. Some powder coated driveshafts with brand new inner & outer CV joints. I then had the bay painted Marrakesh brown, it's a BMW X1 colour and the car machine polished and the sticky residue left from the door moldings removed. ...and this is where I'm at now, the engine in the bay. Just need to get the qpeng harness and downpipe then I can press on forward.

Hi chaps, I'll start by apologising for not keeping on top of this thread but since my last update a lot has happened.... The prospect of a TFSI in a Corrado does sound somewhat intriguing but as this was my first go at a engine conversion it soon hit home that I have been a little over optimistic it seems. I'm very much someone who would rather have a go and build it myself, and with the help of friends... Rob_b legend!, than hand over my car to a tuning company and pay them a substantial amount. In the early stages of the TFSI conversion it was becoming apparent that there was going to be a lot of custom/bespoke stuff, which I did anticipate, but not to the shear amount and due to skills and tools I often felt I was having to be nudged down the road of enlisting companies to carry out the work. Custom stuff aside the cost of the build was mounting fast, parts were expensive and at the time not always readily available i.e. qpeng harness. With all this in mind I decided to attempt something a little easier and admittedly has been done to death, I went for a 20vT. As I say purely due to ease and the endless reams of info about for this engine and parts available. I have documented the build up to present so I'll add pictures later on this evening.

As in the title, I need a pair of late front wings preferably. My car is an early spec so if anyone has a pair of early wings then I may be interested. Must have no rust! Any colour considered. Cheers.
