  5. Slow, yes. All my gratitude is shown through love & hugs! The chuffin' steering wheel is growing mould!? It's game on this year, I have a plan and I'll do my best to stick to it.
  6. Well I would, however any bigger and it won't load? I use photobucket. Whilst I was in a fortunate position I thought it ideal to buy some of the more expensive parts, made sense?
  7. It's been a while since I last updated, so hear goes. Progress has been some what slow in getting the engine in, I have yet to buy the mounts. On a more positive note a have purchased a KO4 turbo and some S3 injectors, get the more expensive stuff out the way first, engine wise that is. I hope to hit the project hard now hopefully the bitter weather is behind us. Plan is to position the Mk5 mounts on the chassis legs ensuring the turbo doesn't foul on the steering rack and prep the car for a respray. Pictures to follow.
  8. Here are some pictures from the 'mocking up' of the engine. First we stripped the engine down; Went in fairly easily, no massive dramas. Have some mounts in mind, so when I get my hands on them the engine will be fitted.
  9. Mocking the TFSI engine up this weekend with help from Rob_b and with a bit of luck getting the engine mounts sorted. Pics to follow.
  10. Picked up some new front brakes a few weeks back, here are some pics; There off an '99 Audi S4 (2.7 Bi-turbo)
  11. thats the million dollar question at the moment! when you back here? I'm free most weekends. I'm due to be back permanently in a few weeks. I'll be more flexible then. To be honest it's whenever you guys can spare the time.
  12. you dont want that 6 speed box, you want a nice g60 box like mine! to help you out i will swap with you :tumbleweed:  I'm pretty sure I do, sorry mate. I want to make this car as unique as possible. You and Jof will have plently of beer coming your way when you help out! When are you next free?
  13. Thanks to everyone for their encouraging comments. I will be documenting this build, so hopefully it should be a good little read with cool pics 8)
  14. Rob_b, that would be awesome if you guys don't mind? 'shoudn't be too hard', last famous words! Hopefully not going to be too bad. Yes, it is a 6 speed box.
  15. When i sold the engine, everything went, gearbox, ECU, loom etc. In answer to your question Pete, i'm not sure whether the original mounts will be compatible with the new gearbox, my guess is probably not, but I'm some what inexperienced when coming to something this major, so we'll see how it goes?
