Is it wrong that I really like these?
Roger Chatfield replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in General Car Chat
A bit of research has revealed that a hyabussa engine can be jammed in the back. That would sort out the engine and gearbox issues.... Just need to find cash for tyres and the impending divorce...lol Rog. -
Greetings rado chums, Is it wrong that I really like these.. Yes I know not much power from the 700cc turbo engine but they weigh less than a knats bollock so should be fun and I assume there must be 'tuning' options.. Prices seem to reasonable atm, it's got me thinking...... So, anyone have any experience of Smart Coupes? Obviously I realise I'll have to give up my engineering career and take up hair dressing...lol Rog.

97 in a 70, what's the probable outcome?
Roger Chatfield replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in Off-topic Chat
I've not heard any more from plod ref my upcoming court appearance, it's been 3 weeks now, is there a time limit of this or is it wishful thinking to hope that they have 'forgotten' about me? Rog. -
I live in Devon, what is this frost stuff you speak of...lol

Morning Chums, The heated rear window on the Panzerwagon doesn't work (amongst many other things..lol) Basically only two strips of the element work so there are obviously breaks in the rest... someone has attempted a repair but it hasn't been successful. So, can anyone recommend a repair kit, i know you can get some paint on stuff but what are peoples experience. Rog.

Ha ha, check out the steering wheel..... I suppose it's worth something if someone wanted the bit for a derv conversion but that's about it. Rog. -

No, it can't be... Have the planets aligned or something....lol -
Excuse my ignorance but what is 'Edition 30' Rog.

Slightly off topic but one of the good things about VR6 ownership is the fact that the engines are fairly cheap to buy (as I found out...lol) you can get a decent runner for less that £200 and there are cheaper out there, loads of rotten Mk3's about with nice 2.8's jammed in the front and nobody wants them as you can get way more power from the soul less 1.8T. Personally... I'd find one with the least amount of rust (which I did), mechanicals can be fixed fairly cheaply, bodywork is expensive. Rog.

What's the story with the climate control? Was it an option or a retro fit mod? Rog.

Little update, I've had another letter from plod, due to the high speed my case can only be delt with in court, just wait for a date. Rog. -
Nice one Darren, good to see you back in a C and hopefully see you at a few shows. Out of interest, why doesn't the beemer tick the boxes? Rog.

Leaking Radiator on Vr6 Engine / Replacement Advise Please
Roger Chatfield replied to Ray1965's topic in Engine Bay
A little unclear but below is a photo from the Bentley manual. It's real easy to get the indicators out, once out you can disconnect them. Bumper removal. Hope that helps Rog. -
Leaking Radiator on Vr6 Engine / Replacement Advise Please
Roger Chatfield replied to Ray1965's topic in Engine Bay
Put a screwdriver in the side of the indicator and just pop them out, they come out real easy, once out they are easy to disconnect...I think the fog lights are disconnected using the pugs in front of the battery and under (or in front)the airbox also don't forget to disconnect the outside temp sensor, its in the lower grill on the drivers side, easy to disconnect from inside the bumper. Rog. -
Afternoon chums. Just had a nice letter from the plod, I've been caught by a camera van doing 97 on a dual carriageway (70 limit). I've not been done for speeding for years now so am a little rusty as to what the probable outcome will be, anyone have any recent experience? Rog.

Leaking Radiator on Vr6 Engine / Replacement Advise Please
Roger Chatfield replied to Ray1965's topic in Engine Bay
I've never supported the engine, I just assumed the bumper bolts only held the bumper. Rog. -

Jim, out of interest why are you supporting the engine? Rog. -
The 280bhp nutter mobile....lol Like has been said above, good meet, Dan (Devon Dub Shack)was as usual a brilliant host, we even managed to get a brew out of him..lol... many thanks Dan. 8 cars in total, not bad for a wet Saturday morning in January, mainly VR's with 2 storms (one of each flavour) and a couple of 20v conversions. Good cars and good company, cafe was very good as well, I think that maybe we should make this a regular thing, maybe a drive out somewhere after if the weather is good or I also thinking about a rolling road meet in Plymouth. Anyway, my pics. Rog.

Roger Chatfield replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in Off-topic Chat

Afternoon chums, I've been playing the ukulele for about 18 months and my kids have just got me a mandolin for Christmas. I was just wondering if anyone else here plays an instrument?? Rog.
