Yes that looks good, or possibly this; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230707639704?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 the best way to do it would be to have an earth into the relay and then feed the output from the relay into the normal earthing circuit for the interior lights. or could go along the route of positives, depends what you prefer.

Ta, its definitely something that's worth looking into, ive ordered a prototype kit that I'm going to have a play with, do quite a lot of stuff with this at work so shouldn't have any problems, I will definitely explore stand alone systems to keep the cost down, that's a good idea. I will keep all updated with my research and developments and will certainly let people know when its nearing completion :)

Ah that's some top information mate :) thanks a lot. I'm hoping to get it working in my car over the next few weeks and then ill run it for a month or so to iron out any wrinkles and faults. I'm aiming to make a custom bracket and linkage that bolts above the pedal box in order to allow people to run on their original pedal box. this is as well as a custom loom and a few other bits all of this is going to keep the cost down, but obviously control units and bits will be used parts, because as you say the price would be triple or quadruple if I sourced new bits. All in all some very useful information and ill probably be contacting you to see how yours is going and to tap some advice. Thanks

I don't see any reason why not, if I get a bit of spare time to make my documentation legible I'll post it up. I'm glad to see a lot of people interested, means all of my head scratching will benefit others as well :)

you need a timer delay relay, available off ebay for about £8.00 just feed a permanent live and earth through like you would a normal relay and then splice into your unlock signal wire as the activation feed for the relay, might need to put a diode in to prevent any additional resistance that might be generated from interfering with your locking system, however I wouldn't have thought that this would be an issue. Hope this helps.

Well thanks a lot guys, ill attempt to get mine finished within the next month or so. Once it's all tested, up and ready to go ill order the bits in for you guys. Thanks james
-
Indeed it can, they wont be included at that price but it will be designed to fit them. if its required I can make simple yet good looking push switches to be fitted in the dash. but in principle the kit will be supplied to connect to the original stalks. And Science, ill let you know if I need any help, might even get you a discount off your kit lol. I've ordered the bits I need to make it work in my car and once its confirmed that it all works in mine then ill be able to price it up and sell the kits. thanks for all your interest.

Good point, as far as I'm aware it has it's own ecu. Supplied in the kit. So no problems there. Ta James

Well I havnt finalised such a kit, but really it would be what people are prepared to pay id try and make my costs match that. its one of those things, I know what you mean. ball park figure as it includes modules and probably brackets and looms, like £120+/-. Does that sound silly expensive or too cheap. lol but I haven't priced up components fully yet, just wanted to gauge interest before I spent too much time on it.
-
yeah I'm planning on getting it to work for all models, may have to have a few different kits, and probably wont be available until there is nice weather to fit them lol. But its good to see some interest early on.

Hi all, I'm currently developing a cruise control system for my car, just wondering what sort of price people would think is fair to pay for the whole set up? excluding switches. Or if anyone would even want one, just after developing a plug in kit on a budget it would seem a shame not to share it with all. I'm thinking the kit would include; control unit, vacuum pump, bellows, brake/clutch switches loom, and instructions/advice. Also is there anything I've missed out. So some indicators of a fair price for the kit would be lovely. Thanks James

Good man, talk a couple of your mates into it and it wont be long. ill put some feelers out on a few golf forums and ebay to speed the process up. If you know anyone who's interested it would be much appreciated. Ta James

Thanks for all the interest guys, I have ordered two prototypes for the relays/module. if they are all good on testing when they get here ill be able to supply the relays separately and cheaper when brought with the loom. Price will likely be £25 each and £75 for two relays and full loom. So please register interest so I know how many to get ordered. Postage to Sweden will be fine, around £10 should cover it. Thanks James

Thanks for the interest guys, I've done a measure up and a mock up today, if 3 people are interested at £30 I can make them up. As for the relays I've put some feelers out for having them made, don't know what sort of price this will come out at so no holding of breath please. :) So if anybody's interested in the looms we can set the wheels in motion. Ta James

Unfortunately not :( I have looked far and wide for these but they seem to be quite illusive. I can get them from VW but they are rather pricey. Sorry about that :( Thanks, James

Hello all, I have recently crafted myself a heated seat loom. If anyone needs one, I can knock these up for a small fee. These looms will match the original ones in size and compatibility however, due to price and availability restrictions looms wont have VW loom plugs. but will still have connections and instructions for fitting. Ill also print out some wiring diagrams to help a smooth hassle free installation. Depending on how many people want them, the price will be £25-£30. As the materials need to be brought in bulk I need at least 5 people after one to make them affordable. If anyone's interested just pop a post on here and we shall take it from there. Thanks, James Please note the picture in the loom doesn't yet have the connectors on the end of some of the wires. just to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Hi there, if I can get about 5 people interested I will be making some heated seat looms up, will put a thread with details in up tonight. Post on the if you're interested. Thanks guys

I'd love to, postage would be nice :) failing that I'm in essex any chance we could meet part way? Ta James -
Sounds to me like your differential pressure regulator is getting the incorrect signal. Get an ammeter in series with the 2 pins. (on the right hand side of the metering head) When running warm on idle it should have an alternating milliamperes of +/-1 ma. Will almost certainly be the lambda has failed. To check this get the ammeter reading working then clamp the front engine breather and milliampage should shoot up or down. If it doesn't do this the lambda may be broken. Hope this helps. Ta

Ah well in that case I don't feel too bad only 225 for the whole job :)
