i'm in northampton mate...my car is going into a shop in kingsthorpe here for £350 all in for re-doing the flushed rear panel (no badge) that includes WELDING the badge recess shut. Sprayng both front wings, bonnet is heavily stone chipped and requires machining down and stopper filler aplying, BOTH front wings and front bumper along with grill and handles colour coded. Please PM me for details mate, it'll be good to see how they do with your car....£900 is way too much..pro job or not! £500 MAX is what i'd pay.and thats with them prepping everything NOT YOU. i think it was Cheesy aka chris who told me at modified nationals he had noticed a definate improvement in his car after he replaced his dizzy...he paid somewhere near £90 or so...could be wrong there. i wanna get my cam belt replaced along with other belts...does someone have a guide or picture showing how i can see the cams and if they are levelled up..or where the marked points are? might take off the belt cover and have a look at mine...it gives me 26mpg at the most. :|

is it hard to put a 1.8 G60 on the same mounts as the 1.8 16v corrado?? do i just need engine and ECU? sorry to offload topic. :roll:

i think its about time the forum members donated a £1 each towards a 'project' lax power car....we could try out all sorts of stupid gizmos on ebay. the whistler thing...turbo fan air filters with Axial flow....super chips...resistors in the fuel pump...neons...list is endless..what say you guys. My choice would be an UNO Turbo! complete with sunstrip and door graphics and perhaps the go faster viper stripes and tail pipe trim! :twisted:

i thought its a straight forward fitment? is it the striking rod your bending? does your central locking still work ok? Where did you manage to get them from? i've been qouted £20 a side for the lock mech and handle 2nd hand. Sanjay.

I didn't catch you on sunday due to work..but by any chance did you go into the adult tent?? all i heard was £20+naked chick= whipping a naked man and putting syringes up him... :oops: the colour needs to have a laquer recoat with some crackle effect i think! perhaps a lightning effect i have seen on a german corrado once. well i'm running Boge gas shocks and lowered springs from GSF i believe...the ride is a bit firm but then again i do have 17's. I think it'll be fine just as long as you don't go lower than 40mm on std shocks or they might bottom out :wink: Sanj.

after reading those posts guys...i'd rather just gold plate my corrado and sit it in a heated garage for the rest of its life so i can pretend i'm driving it. then just walk. God this is sad...i hate rules and regulations.

hmm...i thought most of the cheaper bodyshops tended to be down south. Who has had a recent job done that looks the dogz?? i want around £400-500's worth of work only... 3 dents (size of 5p's) to be taken out on outside b pillar on passenger side...bonnet...and passenger wing. (could do these through dentmasters or someone external) re-flushing of debadged rear panel inc welding of plate NOT filling. (i could wait and have that done later one) both front wings, VR6 bumper (when i have one) and bonnet needs a proper job.**needs to be done asap along with reiger grill and some passat handles** Is that too less for that work?

what is the going rate now anyway?? last i heard it about £700 for a full respray. I got a qoute on just 2 front wings and bonnet for £400. I am at present saving up to have a front end respray and dents taken out....where would do it cheapest? i'm willing to drive out of northants to a good place in london. sorry its off topic slightly. :wink:

OUCH...didn't have german plates, check gallery section for my car and you'll see tints...just the plates i got busted for, i can see why they did it but even when i told them i'd change them there and then at the show, they wouldn't have it...no warning just a fixed penalty...oh well just £30 but a heck of a lot of bother. Next time i'll go standard...then it won't be much of a show. :cry:

i got busted...you guys might of seen. on the sunday during hours of 12-1pm on the road leading through the little village to get to the airfield base, A red corrado went past me as did a black one. I got a 7day producer, need an MOT stamp for putting my normal no.plates back on the car and a £30 fine for the tinted plates i had...i've had them on the car for 6months here in northants and not one police officer has commented due to the readable font on them I think they have nothing better do in that town and i bet they had a big group meeting to get revenue by sitting in the right places! nice officers though...they were asking about what car it was, how fast it goes and they seemed to like the golk mk4's the most. inters this year was just terrible...weather and set up...club stands were measly and it wasn't the right atmosphere i got from my first time last year! probably won't go again...looking forward to edition38 instead now. 2?? but daz..its just the one shock that sounds a bit funny...kinda squeeky. I popped over to a vw specialist in my lunch break and turns out its fine, bounces up and down at normal rate...neither soft or hard so it could be the top mount? but i've been told it cant be that as it cant hang down. do i need to replace both shocks if ONLY ONE has gone?

i have a problem with the front passenger side shock...i think its worn very badly. I'm getting blown accross roads...can hear its scratching when going over humps etc. Basically i wanna replace it..but will either passat or golf ones fit?? I want a bilstein/BOGE gas strut...from GSF preferably please...so if anyone can look up which one would be best that would be superb as i'm at work right now. Cheers lads! Sanjay.

the distorting is your head unit not being able to provide them with enough power...they can be taken a lot further mate.. sound great and no need for a bass box then!

it sounds like my toad alarm...what does the key fob look like?? green is it? theres a way of doing SILENT arming or disarming so i'm sure you can turn it back on with the right button combination pressing. i think on my toad its buttons bottom left first THEN press top left to arm...but i'd have to check later as i'm at work.
