  1. Finish spraying my spare slam panel and swap it for the current one that has some small dents in it. I really doubt I'll ever get around to it :D
  2. Mine arrived :reindeer::thumbleft::thumbleft:
  3. Blocked/damaged foliage seal (passenger side under bonnet by windscreen) allowing water inside? Blocked door drainage holes or damaged/missing inner door membranes allowing water ingress? Heater matrix? Blocked sunroof drain points?
  4. ^^ Do you mean they don't move or they don't heat up? If movement is the problem then the mirror switch often oxidises inside and needs cleaning. If you have no heat then it could be the connection to the mirror itself - prise the glass off and get a volt meter across the two wires that go into the back of the glass and see if there is any power reaching them.
  5. I'm guessing it's referring to the relays when it mentions the 'module'. The loom is as follows: * It plugs into the fuse box. From memory one is a live and one is a switched live so the seats only come on with the ignition. * Then the loom goes straight to the dashboard switch. * Then from the switch to the pair of relays (I assume one for each seat) and an earth. * And finally from the relays on to each of the seats in parallel. Fusebox --> Dash switches --> Pair of relays --> Seats
  6. I have a spare set of wing mirrors that I want to spray. I have split most of them apart including the black plastic surround. But how do I split apart the main plastic cover from the oval base part that mounts against the body? This is the part that swivels. Do I literally just have to use brute force to pry them apart or is something holding them together?
  7. Which part are you after? I have a spare one I can take pics of. I just took a look and the relay number is 59, part number 161 919 533, also with a Siemens number PA6-GF30. The holder for the relays doesn't appear to have any part number on it. The switch itself is part number 535 963 563 B also with another number on there PA6-GF 15. The plugs that go into the seats are part number 191 972 723. I'm still on the lookout for some heated seat elements to retro fit to my current seats :)
  8. It looks like it was simply this. I got under the car today and couldnt find anything wrong at all even when the engine got up to temperature. So that was a very pleasant surprise. Then washed, polished and waxed it. Shiny, shiny :)
  9. Even with a made up loom you still need the relays (maybe still available) and the switches (obsolete).
  10. Well I got this response from him :) So I went back and re-read the ebay advert and technically he is correct. The wording is such that it is "Storm classic green" and "FINISHED IN PRISTINE AND UNMARKED STORM MODEL CLASSIC DEEP GREEN ( ALMOST BLACK )". It leaves me with the impression the advert is deliberately vague. Not good practice.
  11. I've emailed him too on Ebay. The more the merrier and he really shouldn't advertise it as a storm as he might mislead someone who actually doesn't know.
  12. That is indeed a great find. You can feel the passion that he has and even though we, mostly, aren't Porsche owners it's lovely to see someone love cars in the same way that most of us on here do, regardless of marque.
  13. Unfortunately I don't have a trade card. I do rate the Halfords Pro stuff quite highly as a I have some of their other tools. Thanks.
  14. lol will bear that in mind, thanks.
  15. I'm on the lookout for a 3/8 torque wrench and this one seems good value (would like Halfords Pro but that's twice the money): Torque Wrench Sealey STW1011 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-STW1011-Torque-Wrench-Micrometer-Style-3-8-Sq-Drive-7-112Nm-5-83lb-ft-new-/120862033029?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c23f04485 Does anyone have similar and is there any reason not to get it? It seems good value with a decent torque range. Oil Drain Pan/Container Also, I'm looking for an oil drain pan for changing the VR's oil. I was considering this. Is there something better out there and could I empty the oil straight from the drain plug into this or would I need a separate larger pan and just use this for carrying the oil for disposal? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-DRP07-Fluid-Recycle-Container/dp/B000RO13U0/ref=sr_1_3?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1355504656&sr=1-3 or http://www.amazon.co.uk/Large-Litre-Anti-Freeze-Fluid-Drain/dp/B007TNDPUI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1355504924&sr=8-5
  16. Even if you do sell you'll still be part of a very select club; those that have at one time owned and run a Corrado.
  17. Thanks. That's what I'm hoping. But it was damp but not really wet outside, and the car had just returned from a long run after being in the garage for a few weeks. So I'm doubtful. I'll find out when I brave the cold to get underneath it. I was lining up an oil change anyway so I need to get underneath shortly. It just means not driving it until I get the time to take a look.
  18. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! I've always liked this one. They may take our Corrado's but they will never take our freeeeeedom! /braveheart
  19. Yesterday - I popped into my local VW dealer to order an oil filter and sump nut/washer. To my eternal astonmishment they actually had them in stock and available over the counter. Mind you I think they know me by now and asked after my old Golf and the Corrado so maybe they knew I'd be back this time of year :D Unfortunately when reversing back into the garage I noticed a couple of spots of dark fluid on the floor which I'm guessing is a small oil leak. Strangely it washed straight off the drive so I may be lucky with it being a weep from a coolant pipe and running off a dirty part of the engine. Anyway, the next job will be to take a look and see what's happening there. So I probably won't be driving it until it's warm and dry enough to get it onto the stands and take a look underneath. At least I don't need it as a daily :)

    my recaros

Depends on colour, true condition, whether door cards are included, both wiring looms and switches are included, both seats heating elements working, all switches work, etc. Late black leather with all included, in excellent condition, were indeed worth around £1k a while ago. I'm not sure now due to a reducing market, a dead economy, and Christmas. I've taken a look at the pics and they look in reasonable condition (some wear to the drivers bolster - hard to tell in the pics) but generally nice condition. I think I can just make out the door pods which are late versions. Need more pics really. I'll take a guess - In the current market - want a quick sale? £650 to £750 Ok to hang on for the right buyer? £850+. I might be interested at the lower end of that price range... as would a few others on here I guess. EDIT: Why not just pick a price that seems reasonable based on how quick you want to sell, then put up an ad. If they don't sell then reduce price, etc.

  22. I love that. I'd have it like a shot if I had the money.
  23. My alter ego has been rumbled :D
  24. I want sure where to put this but it seems to contain some useful information on vw's including the Corrado: http://www.a2resource.com/ ---------- Post added at 7:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:15 PM ---------- Edit: Actually not too much on the Corrado although it does have some electrical info there. Anyway it may be of use to someone.
