What would the interest be in new late headlight switches? Pricing Update.
Jim replied to 8vMatt's topic in Group Buy Feelers
I'm personally only finding mine marginally stiffer than the old (late) headlight switch it replaced - and in a good way. Feels more positive. -
Excellent. Drivers seat is definitely the best place to store a cylinder head :D

Ello mate.. good to meet you both today. Your MK1 Scirocco was superb :) I went back up the M3 -> A34 -> M40 and it took 2 hours door to door... having looked at both routes on Google Maps before setting off I didn't think there would be that much in in it, but I guess coming down the Cirencester way was a lot more twisty! :)

You sold one of the best turbo VR6's in the country - and now you're formulating how you can go about turbo'ing this one in the future? You're nuts ;) But always good to see another Corrado back into the hands of a die-hard enthusiast... look forward to seeing this one develop over time :)

Late Headlight Switch....New Batch Delivered. Fit All Corrado's.
Jim replied to 8vMatt's topic in Forum Group-Buys
I mate... thanks to a communication error with a friend of mine, I'd like to order another switch if possible please. I'd like to reserve it now and pay end of the week if possible as I'm SKINT? :) -
Good to catch up with some of the usual suspects, some friends from across the pond and some new faces.. very enjoyable day! Nice little museum and well worth £11.50 of anyones money. Had a good drive back despite a little slow moving traffic on the M3... certainly was a heck of a lot quicker that way than the route I took this morning! Consider me educated! Cheers all!

Hi mate - had a dig through what I had and unfortunately not good. I've got two pairs but one has been drilled in several places on the lip where the parcel shelf sits and the other other pair have gone all scabby and the plastic coating is peeling off. No good to you at all I suspect so..

VR6 - Black smoke under hard acceleration and massiv oil usage ??
Jim replied to emu's topic in Engine Bay
Valve stem seals isn't it if you're using oil and getting a load of black smoke? -
I may well have a set though not sure on their condition.. will get back to you in a couple of days hopefully if I can find them in the lock-up (which is a complete state!) :)
-
If it really is the ABS pump, if you keep your eyes open for a good condition second hand one you could get it swapped for that. Might not resolve the issue but at £50 or whatever a used one costs (plus fitting) a hell of a lot cheaper than £2k...
-
Expect to see it in pieces soon!

Another vote for the original colour.. it'll definitely affect any future value if you've changed the colour of the thing!

Hm - that is Nikki's (MI5 VW) old car. Has had lots of paintwork in the past, the engine used to be supercharged, and might even be CAT D or something as it got smashed up pretty bad and (very well) straightened out again... she certainly put a lot of time and money into it, but just showing that it's had a LOT of history! :) http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?8834-I-LOVE-MY-BODYSHOP-MAN-(56K-BEWARE) Etc, etc.

Interesting. If anyone wants me to look at this I live in Warwickshire and am happy to go and have a look around. Resisting the urge to just buy that now and get the interior out and sell it on at the same price!! Isn't that Nikki's old car.. or was her plate different?

This looks good.. right model, right price range.. looks cherished!

That is one of the only things I have heard about them... the dampers wear really quickly! So I did factor that into my decision making process... :)
-
2012? Great scott!! :D
-
Well - we're not saying it'll necessarily go back to threads being discussions... but that Classifieds are changing. I'm not going to make any promises on what they'll look like yet!

West Midlands Rolling Road Day Feeler...?
Jim replied to Jim's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Hm - see already within the first few posts there's a request for before the end of October and one for December.... so I already have to let someone down! -
No... still got the VR! 16V was sold mate :) ---------- Post added at 08:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:01 AM ---------- It was the thought of another winter which drove me to hurry up and sort out a new motor. There is rust on the VR which needs attention and I was getting worried about what more damage would be done over the winter months :(
-
Good news :)
-
Not including fuel, tax, insurance I've spent just shy of £1,500 on servicing and upgrades, etc on the VR6 and that's been over about 16 months. I spent something like £4,000 on the 16V whilst I had that. It's not the cheapest of hobbies :(

I don't even want to know. It's certainly what drove me to getting a sensible daily!
