  1. Wow! Is that fitted etc?
  2. Jon, Welcome to the forums and thanks for the advice. I think the system in general is knackered - the backbox is an OE part, the next bit from that is a new part recently fitted after the old one got REALLY noisy, and the next bit along from that is the last remaining part of a Bosal system that used to live on the car once. It definately needs replacing - I had a quote from Stealth Racing for a Jetex system, fitted, with a lifetime warranty - that was £380. Have to see - so many other bills & outgoings at the minute. Cheers :)

Heres a site to try... its kind of a broker style system. http://www.confused.com Has given me some very competitive quotes!
  4. Yep - your car is very very sweet! :)

Have you ever had to make a claim with them at all? I wanted to try out Adrian Flux but was really put off as I had heard quite a few horror stories. If they are significantly better I might try giving em a call to see what they can do. I pay my Direct Line monthly so I could just cancel it if I was to save a shed load of money.

Indeed... despite having secured myself a policy at a cost of 1600 quid this year with direct line (21 years old, no claims, 2 years NCD) I have still be looking - amusingly I am getting quotes of up to £3200 - I wil be definately shopping around again when this current policy expires though.
  7. See my previous post Nigel.. it applies to you too ;) :) :) :D
  8. I don't think so, amigo :) :)
  9. Well I believe Niko has the pedals in for 60 Euro's - thats a start I suppose ;) Just need to find the other 15,000+ Euro's it would take to do the rest of the mods. Wouldn't it be great if someone did it, and it inspired VW to make it into a production model? :)
  10. Wouldnt it make an excellent project car? Get a Corrado, kit it out with the R32 goodies (pedals, seats, dash), transplant an R32 3.2VR6 engine and spray it up in the same blue colour, put on the same wheels and badge it up the same. Wouldn't it look cool? And I seriously think you could fool some people with that... certainly might cost a bit to do? :)
  11. Ok - in short, my exhaust sounds like crap. I really don't know all the technical terms for the various problems associated with exhausts, but it really sounds like its leaking and blowing a lot by the join from the downpipe(?) to the center section... I also think stuff is quite loose under there, as when the car is cold seems very noisy considering its basically an OE exhaust system. The frustrating thing is, I only just had the centre section replaced at Stealth Racing about 5 months ago - and now it sounds terrible again. Should Stealth be reponsible for putting that right, or is it my problem to get fixed? My exhaust system is definately past its best and I really need a quality sports system on there, but £400 is not a sum of cash I can easily lay my hands on right now... if I can somehow get under the car, should it be easy to identify the source of the blowing and rattling? Thanks... (Starting to become a seriously disillusioned Corrado owner over the past few days :()

    Argh! My Car!!

Thats the annoying thing though - I am always really careful. As I say, thats the first scrape in like 3 years of motoring. Lets hope its the last for a few more! Gonna give Chips Away a call tomorrow - I like the idea of them just coming down to me and doing the job there and then - wonder how much they would charge? :)

    Argh! My Car!!

Just been out to a body shop at lunch time who reckon its not a big problem to patch up.. they estimated £90 before VAT which seems pretty reasonable. *panic over*
  14. God damn... trying to get into a tight space coming to work this morning, and just scratched up the corner of my bumper on this old Ford Sierra. I want to post a string of four letter words here but I dont think I should. God damn :( I have never done that so far in my (admittedly small) amount of years driving.. So anyone got a bumper for sale, in Blackberry Metallic? :(
  15. Its certainly no show car, but this is my Corrado - a 1994 2.0 16v in Blackberry Metallic. Its got 86,500'ish miles on it, and is pretty much standard in every way possible apart from replacement air filter & slightly better brake discs + pads on the front. My Car
  16. Thanks for the replies guys... any idea how much it would cost to get the bushes done or potentially the wheel bearings?
  17. Its on about 86,500 miles...
  18. I am starting to get increasingly concerned about the steering on my Corrado - it does not seem to be behaving correctly. Symptoms are : Occasionally heavy feeling when steering, the car pulling strongly to a particular side of the road when driving over small imperfections in the road, the steering going very wobbly / light when accellerating quickly, steering wheel wobble at 60MPH+, and a few other symptoms. I am going to go to a garage and get the tracking + balance done (dont think its tracking as tyre wear seems pretty light) but could it be anything more serious? Wheel bearings? I have been putting off getting it properly checked as I just simply dont have the money for any more big bills. I don't think the car has had any front end damage - the car was ok when I first got it in January, and I have not been involved in any accidents with the car.. just seems to have gradually gotten like this. Suggestions please! Cheers.
  19. I was just doing a bit of back reading through the Yahoo group - apparently there is a black cable which should come along side the actual aerial feed - this black cable should be attached to the remote line, to provide power to the aerial base. I didnt spot any such wire the last time I was poking about behind the dash, so maybe this is what I am missing. I will have a proper look again tomorrow and see if I can find it.. might be whats causing the problems!
  20. Ok folks... In short, I bought one of these hoping to be able to finally recieve radio, as ever since swapping from my Sony head unit to a Pioneer one, all I can recieve is static / interference. I can obviously work out you plug it in between the aerial feed and the head unit, but cant work out where I am supposed to attach the power feed for it. It has a very tiny crocodile clip on it. I'll hold my hands up and say that I am NOT very good at installing car head units - I know how to attach the ISO block fine, but going beyond that its a bit blurry.. Any help.... please? :)
