    Rear badge wanted.

Really starting to think I should swap my VR over to all 'alternative' badges - the VR6 grille badge is obsolete, a good condition chrome style Corrado badge is hard to find and now the rear VW badge too.. reckon someone feeling light fingered around the car could net £70-£100 on the badges alone!
  2. I have heard a good amount of positive things about WBAC - ultimately it doesn't cost anything to get an initial valuation and to make an appointment to go and see them so.. reckon it has to be worth a punt!
  3. Aww :) What a legend!
  4. Hm. I guess that would have to do as a solution. To be fair I don't think there's anything wrong with the old gasket but just as I'm going to be talking it all apart I thought I should replace it. Just can't understand how the Golf one would differ massively from the Corrado one given it's basically the same engine. Though did they do the Golf VR6 with OBDI or were they all OBDII ? That said - a genuine one is listed at nearly £20 on eBay... vs £3.19 for a small stack of gasket paper. Think we have a winner. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GASKET-PAPER-OIL-AND-WATER-RESISTANT-5-X-A4-SHEETS-ASSORTED-THICKNESS-/171740257453?hash=item27fc845cad Cheers.
  5. Just been speaking to my friendly local VW dealer and found that the throttle body gasket (021 133 073C) is now obsolete / dropped without replacement. However the Golf VR6 one (021 133 073D) seems to be available still - and from what I can see doesn't look any different? Does anyone know any different or should it be OK? Thanks.

    Rear badge wanted.

The badges for a Corrado are not specific per year in terms of fitment - if it's a badge off a 1988 Corrado, it will fit on a 1995 Corrado :) But as to whether that badge is actually correct for the Corrado at all, I'm not sure..

Which badge? :) The VW badge, the Corrado badge, or a G60/16V/VR6 badge?
  8. Pretty sure Kip will go along with his car if he hasn't sold it by then :)
  9. To be fair Edd sounded like he had a bit of a cold through that episode!
  10. It's appeared on YouTube here :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSot23XF2Vg Watch it before it gets pulled!
  11. Yep - it was the oil cooler that was causing it. There was oil all along the underside of the car as far back as the rear beam virtually :)
  12. Unfortunately as we didn't get a CCGB club stand this year, they didn't furnish us with a discount code :(
  13. Thing is, if the majority of the cars on the market ARE enthusiast owned cars, then ultimately we determine the prices.
  14. All joking aside I wear glasses and have used both Boots and Specsavers. To be honest I just go wherever I find the best deal depending on what I want (i.e. two pairs for the price of one or 50% off, etc). Never felt like I was being sold something I didn't need either.
  15. I am definitely making it a point to be more positive about the values of the cars from now on! Also think seeing the show has inspired me to get cracking a bit more with mine :)
  16. Thought the same - it looked awesome being chucked around the track :)
  17. Pretty sure I've seen black leather around the £500 mark so £400 doesn't seem a stretch!
  18. Was enjoyable to watch and interesting to see him have to bid up on the purchase of the car AND raising the price during the sale. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
  19. Really wish VW still sold the sunroof repair kit. Wasn't very expensive and had the cables, rocker arms, etc etc - all you needed to fix it when it broke. Sigh.
  20. Guess they didn't use your VAGCOM cable then!!
  21. Loving it so far! Great to know about those guys who rebuild the ABS pumps too!
  22. I see Fiesta ST's everywhere, but it doesn't stop me enjoying mine every time I drive it :)
  23. Some Ford's do look good. I'd say there's nothing wrong with your eyes :)
  24. Perfect. Actually my gear knob is fine but my gaiter is a bit scabby so.. can see he does a gaiter for just £15 which seems to be a fair bargain! Cheers.
  25. How much was the knob and gaiter mate?
