Wow - beautiful :) Love it!

Always makes me really happy to see another Corrado getting saved. Nice work. I'd always also vote for the original 2.9 - and definitely think the route of some suitable upgrades like cams, etc is the way to go. Can't wait to see it all finished :)

Yep - first episode just gone was the Rover P5B.
-
Bit of a mystery at this point. All we can do is wait.

Strange thread to bump up, given that it's been fixed..

VR6 is plus axle, yeah :)

I just don't understand the mindset. Never will. Utter ****ing moron.

Welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing your progress!

Could I get first dibs on the injectors, assuming you end up with another full / tested set mate? I've got a set I need to send off to refurb but if someone else is already taking care of that, might as well just jump on them instead. Had a misfire on my VR for a while and injector refurb has been on my radar for ages!

That looks like the MK3 Golf version of the badge, which has subsequently been painted red? Not good.

Get cracking, Miles. Ideal time over the winter months - not much going on, usually a bit of spare cash so you can pick up any bits you need or get bodywork sorted :)

I've listed a couple of items on Panjo and had no problems personally.

Hmmm... have you had the timing chain & tensioners inspected? Might be worth also getting a stethoscope to see if you can work out from where abouts the noise is coming from. I suspect it's probably some kind of valve train noise, and most likely lifters. Had an extremely stuck / noisy one on mine recently and tried some tappet additive from Halfords which, after about 60-70 miles seemed to improve things, but after a 200 mile round trip this weekend the noise has returned so. Your mileage may vary. Best to budget for a new set of INA tappets (which can be found for about £85).

Doesn't even mention the manufacturer. I'd say if you accept this might be a cheap way to simply put some new suspension on your car.. and have zero expectations for ride quality, reliability, build quality... then you should be good to go.

Sorry to hear that... wish it was at a better time financially for me as I wouldn't mind those 16" Speedlines back. Ho hum. Would you consider a swap plus cash for a nice set of 15" Speedlines? -
Welcome aboard! Got more info on the Storm? Mileage, any mods, etc? Any pictures? :)

Starting and immediately stopping sounds like the classic in-key immobiliser chip. Did you reconnect up that factory immobiliser?

528i Twin Turbo?! Got any more information on it? :) It's a tough one. Corrado prices don't really seem to be going anywhere and despite my attitude that the Corrado was always a hobby and the cost didn't matter, the reality is that with every passing year and each new bill I struggle harder and harder to justify it to myself. Where do you draw the line, and what is your ultimate objective with the car? My car needs a full respray as there are paint issues on every panel, and now some ugly looking rust coming up on the sill in the passenger rear wheel arch but the notion of spending another £3,000 on the car simply doesn't wash for me. The Corrado will always hold a place in my heart but I just can't now see it being a 'forever' car for me - and like you there's other cars I want to own, and that can't happen whilst the Corrado is tying up the space in the garage. The fact that you're even questioning the decision makes me think you've really already made up your mind, or at least are struggling to justify it to yourself.

Let me know if you manage to find good prices. One job (of many) I need to sort on my car is suspension. I think my springs are OK but my dampers are shot and I'd been considering the B8's but from everything I've read they seem more expensive to buy alone than the complete B12 kit!

I always thought SRP was OK. I think the trick is to not let it cure TOO much as then the nickname of 'Autodust' definitely becomes true.

I can tell you what I don't use.... Swissvax! I'm not really into detailing but.. have some Poorboys stuff which I really like (Polish, Black-hole Glaze, Wax) and then mostly autoglym stuff for other generic area - glass cleaning, tyre dressing, etc.

I suspect it may be too big a job for most, even the well known specialists. But you wouldn't go wrong talking to John Mitchell Racing / JMR if you wanted to consider such a project!

Used to run Ferodo's on the road rather than for track and they were very good!

Hm. According to the Discovery UK listings the week after the Rover P5B is the Fiat Panda 4x4 which was listed last on the Facebook page... So doesn't seem to be in that order :(
