Yeah - there's a whole thread on Pistonheads dedicated to rooting this out. Pretty much a ringing kit.

I've always been partial to Mystic Blue though. And actually, sometimes, prefer the Solitudes to the Speedlines.

I think it comes down to your views on the Corrado in general, and how long you plan to keep it. If you just want a VR because you want a Corrado and love the motor, then a Storm is kind of irrelevant - just get the best you can find. However if you don't plan on keeping it forever and plan to cash out when (if?!) prices get better then a Storm seems a better bet - how many times you get people asking "Is it a Storm?" as it's seen as a more special model by folks who don't know a great deal about the cars, not realising they're basically the same.. so with a Storm you're giving yourself a better chance of a sale I think in the wider market, as you can appeal to those kinds of buyers. Personally, I'd rather have a Campaign :-)

Original low mileage 16v's are getting harder and harder to come by. Honestly if your intention is to rip out the engine and stick in something else, you might as well buy something a bit more leggy - personally think it'd be a shame to hack apart an original low mileage valver!

Seems a new VR6 sump on eBay is about £40. A hammerited one will never look as good as a new one.... ;)

Here is the link to the shafts: http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/driveshafts-8/?page=6 And the thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?92588-Cv-joint-or-not-to-cv-joint Seem like a mega bargain to me.

That's been for sale for ages I think. Trader speculation strikes again!

How do you know what there is excessive pressure in the water pipes? If you open the expansion tank at all when the car is up to temperature, then yeah the water in there will look to overflow from the tank quite quickly! (Welcome to the forum by the way!)

I think so.. but if they're the ones from ARZ tuning, I was told they were a rubbish fit which was was spurred me on to get my own reproductions made.
-
Unfortunately they have all gone. I was looking into getting new sets printed for a lot less than what I originally paid, but I wasn't too happy with the quality of the new ones. The finish on the material was better but they didn't fit quite as nicely as the original batch I had done. I'll try get back onto this next week when I'm back home as the topic does come up quite often so there is clearly interest still. For what it's worth I thought £20 for a broken pair was a bit steep!

I'm not really one for aftermarket wheels on Corrado's (with a handful of exceptions!) but those Porsche wheels look fantastic on your mates valver!
-
Pretty sure the rear VR6 badge is in block chrome (as in non-brushed). The one on my car is in good condition and is just chrome effect and pretty certain I have a brand new one somewhere which is the same.

Presumably not an R model? :) Been smoking around in my dads 2003 Volvo V70 D5 with the 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine for the last week or so. It's actually a pretty nice place to spend time and it really shifts if you put your foot in it, with that distinctive 5 cylinder noise (though somewhat muted by the normal diesel noises).
-
I should know by now, having owned Corrado's over the last 14 years or so now but is the face of the rear VW badge flat or does it have curves to it?
-
You should go ahead with the stickers mate - once we see how they look and if we think they're decent, I could start looking into some cheap reproduction badges to combine with them?
-
Thing is, if the finish on the vinyls is pretty good, I don't see why I couldn't look back into getting the badge copied / 3D printed just in black plastic, with a chrome or red sticker to go on the front to finish it off? Probably not so good for the concourse type enthusiasts but might be good enough for the other 98% of Corrado owners who just want a badge there that looks very close to the original?
-
I've got a Corrado eyebrow spoiler sitting around in my garage - currently painted up in flash red, but I've no need for it if you want it for free?
-
Excellent. Great to know that such companies exist. Helps us to keep these cars on the roads, as obviously VW have little to no interest.

Sorry guys - he's a spammer / fake. Has an advert linked to some random website in his signature.

Apparently there are bushed metal effect type vinyls available. However Trimsport promised that this was something they were looking into (front VR6 grille badges with the brushed silver effect) - it was something I was trying to work out how to get done, but they announced they were going to do them, and I figured there was no point trying to compete with their experience so dropped it. It has all gone a bit quiet from them though?

Threads merged.

Looks very nice and clean! :)
